This homestay program is for those seeking a piano learning vacation in a Borneo rainforest setting. This piano learning vacation is for adults who have a dream to be able to start playing piano, but do not know how to start or could not find time to kickstart playing piano.
The homeowner is a school teacher. He has a Kawai ES100, a digital piano at home.
During the program, you can opt to volunteer yourself in English teaching to the village children in a school nearby. You also have a chance to go river cruising and fishing. Besides that, we can go picnicking and bathing in a brook nearby.
Your program starts when you are ready on the first or second day. You are going to learn about the basics of keyboard. Then we will learn some music theory and notation, do some worksheets and basic fingering to help you start.
The piano music that I can teach you is
1. Fur Elise, composed by Ludwig van Beethoven.
2. Turkey March, composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
1. Let it go, (theme song in "Frozen").
2. 關懷方式,a Chinese pop song in the nineties, composed by a Singaporean.
3. 朋友,a Chinese pop song in the nineties.
You may choose one or two music from the above list to learn from me. If you are fast-learner, you will be able to play the song in a "decent" way after the program. Let's see how far can you go.
At the end of the program, I will share with you on how to "self-teach" and move on as a progressive amateur pianist.
