The SpaceThe Room and House
This attractive and spacious room is located in a house in Molendinar, to the left of the Southport CBD on the Gold Coast.
I am going on holiday from late November to late December this year, you are welcome to stay if I can find someone to let you in. It would be great if you arrive around 22 November or just in late November. Feel free to make enquiries if you would like to stay while I am away.
Please note I have a guest who speaks Mandarin and Cantonese. Her agency have said there are not to be any people in the house speaking Mandarin or Cantonese so she can speak English only (these are not my rules, they are her agencies rules I have to follow).
I work in Surfers Paradise from Monday to Friday, so I am happy to drop guests off in Surfers Paradise, as long as they can leave at 7.30am since I start work early. You can easily catch buses from Surfers Paradise to other parts of the Gold Coast.
The house is light filled and attractive inside. There is a study in the house which guests are free to use anytime. There is a large patio at the front of the house and a large garden where you can sit in the sun. The house is located in a private and quiet area which the local shops and restaurants just a 2 minute drive away.
You are welcome to use the kitchen in the house.
If you smoke, you can only smoke outside the house.
You will be sharing the house with myself and 2 other housemates and the bathroom will also be shared.
The nearby supermarket is open from 6am to 10pm everyday. It is a 12 minute drive to some of the best beaches in Australia, and a 15 minute drive Australia's biggest theme parks.
The house is also a 5 minute drive from the Parkwood campus of Griffith Uni. It is a short 5 minute drive to Southport CBD and a 3 minute drive to Ashmore.
For couples I have a double bed in the room.
If one person is just staying feel free to book this room. It is spacious. Guest AccessThe kitchen, the bathroom, the lounge, dining room and laundry. You can watch the TV in the lounge and use the wireless internet. Interaction with GuestsI interact guests when I see them, which is usually everyday. The NeighborhoodIt is quiet and it is a short drive to most places if you have a car. The shops which are 3 minutes away are really handy, they are open until late at night, which is good for the Gold Coast. Getting AroundIt is great if you have a car, it is a short drive to most places. If you do not have a car please ensure you are happy with an 4 minute walk to the bus stop. You can catch a 5 minute bus, the 738 to Griffith Uni. Then from Griffith Uni you catch the tram (that comes very frequently) which will take you to Southport, Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach. There are lots of bus connections around the tram line for getting around. Other Things to NoteIf no-one checks out in the morning on the day you check-in I can prepare the room the night before, so you can check-in anytime.
However If a guest checks out in the morning and you are checking-in on the same day I will need to change the bedding and clean the room. I also work full-time in another job. Consequently the earliest you can check-in on WEEKDAYS in this case is 5.30pm. I am more flexible with weekend check-ins since I do not work on the weekend.
If you arrive at the Gold Coast airport it is cheapest to use public transport to get to the house. You can catch bus 777 which departs every 15 minutes, 7 days a week to the Broadbeach South tram station. It is the last stop. Then you catch the tram to the last stop which is Griffith Uni hospital. You walk upstairs and catch bus 738. Please say to the bus driver "I am new to the Gold Coast. Please tell me when we reach the MITCHELL Ave bus stop." Alternatively there is bus 742 which you can catch from the Broadbeach South tram station which will stop at Mitchell Ave too. It is a 4 minute walk to the house from here. I can pick you up at the Mitchell Ave bus stop if you need to be picked up. Please ensure you get a go-card to save 30% on public transport fares. It is easily available from 7/11 stores or you could enquire at the Gold Coast airport. Currently the Queensland government is giving people 1 day free travel, then they add credit to their go-card.
