The SpaceGPS is not helpful in locating our property as it cannot see our place!Please follow our directions, NOT the GPS. Located in a country area, totally quiet, no neighbours, but only 1 hour from the Hobart Airport, and 45 minutes to Hobart CBD. It is a gravel road approach, there are 8kms of unsealed road to arrive at your destination and once there you will find undercover parking for 2 vehicles. There are two bedrooms, each with comfy Queen bed, and views to the natural world. Guest AccessThis is a whole house -there are 2 wood fires, one for cooking and one for cosying up on cool nights.You are free to wander the property, sit by the creek and watch for platypus, borrow the binoculars and spy on the local native birds doing their thing. Interaction with GuestsWe are close by, but you won't know we are there at all, unless you need us we will stay out of the way, but if you need help you can easily find us!We are very happy to give you suggestions for how to get around, what the local attractions are, how to use the wood- fired stove to cook up a storm, and what animals and birds you are most likely to see where. The NeighborhoodNeighbours? what's that mean? We are lucky to live in a place that is 20 minutes from a large country town (New Norfolk)with all you need for supplies, but it feels like you are in the middle of (URL HIDDEN) New Norfolk there are pubs, bottle shops, supermarkets, takeaways, cafes, antique and collectibles shops, bakeries,local hand-made galleries and boutiques, and hardwares, fuel, and some excellent walking tracks and the built history pre-dates the Port Arthur site. There is a Touring Information centre located near the council chambers, so you can discover the greater Derwent Valley region. Getting AroundYou must have a vehicle of your own to access our property. A car with good clearance is a good idea, there are often loose stones, and potholes, and can be a few puddles if there's been rain, so leave yourself plenty of time to arrive.Once you are off the 8kms of dirt road leading out of our property you will be on sealed road- turn left to New Norfolk and the Derwent Valley (40 minutes to Mt Field National Park)via the historic Salmon Ponds, Redlands Whisky Distillery, or turn right to MONA (30 minutes) and Hobart (45minutes).Salamanca Market on Saturday, BIG River Farmers Market in New Norfolk on Saturday mornings, MONA markets in Summer on Sundays. Other Things to NoteOur property is not pet or child friendly, and will require a fair level of fitness to get the most out of your stay.If your idea of a perfect holiday is complete privacy, and nothing but nature surrounding you, this is the place for you!
