Surrounded by ocean with magnificent views our modern European style homes (providing 110 and 220 Volt) are located at the end of Walkerville, next to Whiteside at the South Shore of Cape Breton Island. Built as a luxury year round home in 2000 our cozy and comfortable rooms with king size beds and valuable new mattresses feature private ensuite bath and are furnished with IKEA and local carpenter craft work. Kayaks or canoe on the private 500 m beach let you enjoy the shelter of the River Inhabitants Basin or explore one of the nearby uninhabited islands with gull rookeries, and secluded coves. There are numerous nature trails on the one hour drive close by Cabot Trail, but also on next door Isle Madame. The cliffs along the coast provide opportunities for hiking and bird or whale watching, accompanied by a stunning view of the sunrise or sunset, depending on the house you choose. So if you find no vacancies in our calendar, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will find availablitly in two more houses or even on our 38 foot sailing catamaran with your own hull and private bath between two spacious berths.
Our Houses are unique on the island because of its location directly by the ocean and its high standard of living. There is a difference between „ocean view.“ or real living right at the Ocean, just a few steps down to your private dock. Compare the offers if you are a nature lover or water enthusiast.

In Low Season and Shoulder Season (Nov. 1st up to June 30st. power is NOT included, will be charged by usage (30 Cent per kwH usage + tax).
We ask for a 500 CAN$ or 400 EUR security deposit 3 days after returning the lease. This will be refunded at departure if no damage happened.
The full rental amount is due 8 weeks before arrival.
Final cleaning is 120 CAD plus tax.
The houses offers excellent living conditions for every season. In winter, it is especially cozy to sit by the fireplace, enjoying the warmth, and gazing out across the water. We offer every watersports activities from kayaking to hobie 16 catamaran sailing, Hobie Islnad Adventure Paddle/Sailing Trimaran up to 38 foot Catamaran with kojies for accomodation of 6 people for day cruising or longer.
We're often asked about mosquitoes. The seaside breeze drives the pesky beasts away. It is also to be noted that all houses have the luxury of window screens and sliding screen doors that can be closed. In the summer, the temperatures vary between 20-28 degrees Celsius in the day, and 12-14 degrees during the night. Near the coast, the wind can get a little brisk, so it is recommended to take a sweater along. In spring and fall the temperatures are a comfortable 15-18 degrees. With an average snowfall of 200cm, the island and the northern part of Nova Scotia offer good conditions for winter sports.
Winter dream: Cape Breton, because of the Highlands, has a real winter, especially in comparison to the southwest of Nova Scotia Island.
