A spacious and stylishly furnished modern property with glorious views over open countryside. Situated approximately 1 mile from Monmouth town centre in a quiet residential area on a hillside. Walking to and from the town centre takes 15-20 minutes. All bedrooms have an en suite bath or shower room, digital tv and radio, free wi fi, haidryer, and tea and coffee making facilities. An iron and ironing board can be supplied on request. There is a guest lounge and terrace where free tea and coffee are supplied. Alternatively, guests may consume their own beverages (there is no corkage charge). A sumptuous breakfast is included in the price, and is served at a time of your choosing. Any special dietary requirements can be catered for if notified at the time of booking. Monmouth is a historic market town situated in the Welsh Marches. It is in the valley of the Wye River, which has been designated an area of outstanding natural beauty. The Cotswolds and Brecon Beacons are on Monmouth's doorstep, as are Offa's Dyke and the Royal Forest of Dean. There are many scenic walks and cycle paths in the area. For equestrian fans, the racecourses at Cheltenham, Hereford and Chepstow are all within easy reach. There are several ancient and famous castles in the area, and the town is less than 1 hour's drive from Bristol and Carduff. Charges are per ROOM per night, and we would normally expect 2 people to share a room. Charges include a full cooked breakfast, and there are no further charges or taxes. Osbaston is a residential neighbourhood just North of Monmouth town. It was formerly a farm, but was converted into a residential area in the 1970s. Monmouth town centre is an easy walk, and here you will find several restaurants and pubs; there are plenty of shops and supermarkets, and also a cinema and 2 theatres. For those who are unwilling to walk, there is also a regular bus service to and from the town. There are no parking restrictions in Osbaston, so visitors are able to park on the road. However, it is also possible to park in the driveway of Torlands, if you prefer.

The King's Head- a JD Wetherspoon Hotel is a thorn in the side of those who believe that beautiful Welsh towns start with a ‘Ll’, the ancient county town of Monmouth has a fascinating past and a wealth of historical and natural attractions. The birthplace of Henry V in 1387, Monmouth has fiercely guarded the Welsh heartland from invaders across the Wye Valley for nearly 1,000 years. The town is entered through a spectacular 13th-century bridge gate across the River Monmow, with a unique fortified gatehouse. Its medieval street plan intact, visitors are transported to a world of 11th-century priories, the old market in Agincourt Square and the Shire Hall Court Rooms – unchanged since the trials of the Chartist leaders. Out of town, you’ll find yourself in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with the world-famous Tintern Abbey, the Forest of Dean and Offa’s Dyke to hand. Looking west are Abergavenny and its Roman fort, the Brecon Beacons and a posse of fabulous historic sites connected to the roguish Owen Glendwr.

The SpaceIt is light and airy, centrally located yet private, on a cobbled courtyard, tucked away from the high street. Car parking is available 50 or so yards away. Shops, restaurants, cafés and theatres are all very close and easy to walk to. Guest AccessAccess to kitchen and bathroom. Also use of separate wardrobe space. Use of studio space and prime window dining. This is definitely more like an apartment rental than room only, as I will, generally, make myself scarce during your stay unless you specify otherwise. However, if need be, eg. if I need to collect something from the studio, I would like access. I would text or phone beforehand to check you were ok with this, however, and give prior warning. Interaction with GuestsThis is something we can discuss. As said in previous, there may be an instance where I need to call in, but otherwise, you will have the space for your sole use and relaxation. The NeighborhoodThis is a great area with fantastic countryside all around and within reach... including the Wye Valley, Usk Valley, Brecon Beacons and Forest of Dean. Lots of market towns nearby, including Monmouth itself, with lovely local markets and good coffee shops! Essential! Getting AroundThere is a bus station in Monmouth, with regular links to Newport, Abergavenny, Chepstow and Hereford. Arriving by mainline train, use Newport station and the roughly hourly service to Monmouth, which takes an hour - (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) "bus monmouth 60 pdf" for timetable. Or from the north, use Hereford or Abergavenny stations and then the bus. Other Things to NoteThis is strictly a non-smoking apartment, and I regret to say, no pets. There is no TV nor radio because reception is hopeless. However, the wifi is excellent and free of charge so you can easily use catch-up TV on your computer or tablet. If you are from abroad, I can show show you the best sources. Please note that there is no TV licence for the apartment, so technically you should not use wifi for live TV, just catch-up. Live radio via wifi is fine.

We built the Garden Room in 2015 to create a private living space for travellers. We offer a comprehensive choice of breakfast foods and drinks which you can prepare as and when you like, in your own kitchen area. Four rooms in one provide sleeping, living, dining and cooking facilities, with a wet room attached. It is a warm, comfortable space with an outside patio accessed through sliding glass doors which are also your private entrance. The patio has table and chairs for outdoor dining and relaxation. Our design is as we would love to find on our many travels! We are around if you need any help and will leave you in peace otherwise. In a peaceful lane, ten minutes stroll from the centre of Monmouth, our feedback has been excellent . Victoria Estate is a cul de sac lane which has an interesting mix of buildings, all with big gardens . There is little traffic and it is very peaceful, yet close to the town centre...just 10 minutes stroll away, along footpaths and small roads. Monmouth is a thriving riverside town, with lots of places to shop and eat in. The surrounding countryside is stunning, with easy access to the Forest of Dean, Black Mountains, Usk and Wye Valley and the border towns. You can hire canoes to explore the Wye, use the Leisure Centres and Golf Clubs, visit the theatres and cinema, go walking, cycling, climbing, and enjoy the local music venues.
