The SpaceThis is one of two unattached and very private units on an acre of scenic country land. With decks on both the east and west sides, it is a nature-lover's (and bird watcher's) paradise! Has oak floors, and an open plan layout that includes a kitchen, dining area, office/sitting area, and bedroom area with queen-size bed. There's also garden space with blackberries & blueberries, and a window air conditioner. At just under 400 square feet, there is space for all the important things (eat, sleep, shower, work on the computer, dance...) There are lots of extras here -- there's clean, clear well water from the taps, a garage space (for parking) with a garage door opener (meaning you won't have to get out in the rain). And, there's on-site access to a washer and dryer. Nearby are hiking and cross-country ski trails, streams for fishing, a river for boating, and low-traffic biking roads. Located 15 to 20 minutes from Route 91 or Route 2, UMass, Greenfield, Deerfield, and other area schools; 30 minutes from Northampton and Shelburne Falls. There are so many wonderful festivals, galleries, farm stands, and events in this area, and you will have access to them all! This is my home that I rent while traveling. It is ideal for a low-key, non-smoking person looking for a peaceful, homey oasis in a hectic schedule. However, do please note that there is no smoking of anything by anyone anywhere on the property. If you are a smoker, please pass this by! Guest AccessGuests will have a garage space, a washer and dryer on the property, and long country walks. If there's snow while you're there, there's cross country skiing practically from your doorstep. Interaction with GuestsI will be traveling during your stay (which is why this space -- my sanctuary -- is available). However, I can have a friend let you in if I'm not available, and other people in the area who can help you get oriented, or if you have questions or even concerns during your stay. The NeighborhoodThe houses in my neighborhood are well-spaced -- I can see only 6 from my property, all of them at least a field away. My neighbors are almost all family, and have lived here for a long time, so it's very stable, quiet, and solid neighborhood. And yet, this town has a wonderful mix of entrepreneurial, socially-active, and community-oriented residents from all walks of life, making it a very interesting place to spend time (which is why I spend my summers here). Getting AroundYou will need a car; however, Enterprise Car Rental does pick up and deliver. Other Things to NoteThere is a young family living in the house, which is next door, but unattached. I can go for days without seeing a sign of them; at the same time it can be nice to know someone else is around if needed.
