Other Things to NoteThis is a unique home.
Children under 8, unless well supervised, are discouraged due to the bank overlooking the lake. All sleeping areas are open to the rest of the house.
Finger Lakes weather is very unpredictable. It can range from hot, sunny and humid to cool and rainy throughout the summer. With a washer/dryer on site and limited guest storage, travel light. Bathing suit, shorts, hiking shorts, T-shirt, sweatshirt, and rain poncho will do it for essentials. More formal attire is recommended for upscale dining and events.
Rain or shine, there is plenty to do. In addition to having fun on the lake and exploring the out of doors, theater, historic sites, dining and one of the largest malls, (Destiny USA), all afford great rainy day fun!
Cell phone service has been fine for all, other than T-mobile. No WiFi.
I need to use a Verizon Jetpac to access the internet on my laptop, which I take with me. Guests will need to purchase a data card, etc. if phone data usage will not suffice.
Towels, linens, washer/dryer, fully stocked kitchen, paper products, soap, shampoo all on site.
Concrete floor with radiant heat needs to have old paint stripped and be re-stained.
Filtered lake water is our water source. Used for bathing, laundering, washing dishes, coffee, cooking etc. Many of us drink it, but many do prefer spring water so I'll start you off with a good supply.
