If you are renting a vehicle, we recommend 4wd/Awd. Other Things to NoteWe ask guests to use water and electricity with care. Certain high-power personal appliances not permitted - please ask ahead about anything above 100 W you plan to plug into the wall. We also ask guests to be conscientious of the drought and take showers 10 min or less and to be cautious with washing dishes etc.
Our 1/2 mile driveway is a steep and bumpy Santa Cruz mountain road. Any car can get up it with reasonable clearance but its a bit of a challenge in a front wheel drive. If you are renting a vehicle, we strongly recommend 4wd/Awd. If you visit when there is a rain storm, there may be some days when the driveway is 4wd/Awd only; Fwd/Rwd would have to park at the bottom of the hill and walk.
