The SpaceWe renovated the bungalow to ensure our guests feel like it is their home away from home. Park your car in the car port. Then settle into a light and airy space composed of a complete living room, fully equipped kitchen (with Keurig coffee maker, coffee pods and toaster), breakfast nook, full bathroom and a wonderfully private bedroom that overlooks the private, back lawn. There is also a furnished screened-in veranda at the back. There is basic Cable TV, free wireless internet, Roku (for Netflix and other Internet services) and a DVD player. We also offer a selection of DVD’s and a library of good books. The living room couch does fold out to a queen bed should you have more than two people in mind, but remember the entire place is under 750 square feet. Downtown Mt. Dora is a comfortable stroll away. Disney (25 mi), Universal and all of Orlando are a 45 minute direct drive. Tampa (63mi), Daytona (45 mi), Kennedy Space Center (61 mi), Tavares (4 mi), Cassadaga and Tarpon Springs are all within striking distance. Guest AccessThe Bungalow on Baker Street is a private house on its own 1/4 acre land, and it is all yours. It is located in the heart of the Historic District - a picturesque community of older homes. The area is a very quiet, very safe village atmosphere, and perfect for neighborhood walks, cycling and jogging. It is an easy walk to downtown shops, restaurants and activities. One of our guests described it as like visiting Mayberry! Interaction with GuestsWe will meet you on your arrival, give you the key, answer any questions and show you the main operations of the bungalow. Although we live next door, you will only see us if you need to. If asked - we're pleased to answer any questions or suggest a good restaurant. The NeighborhoodYou'll hear the birds in the morning and not much else. Baker Street is a quiet and safe residential street in the heart of Mt. Dora's Historic District, and is composed of mainly small cottages and older private homes. When you're out walking, people you pass will say "hi", the mailman will tip his hat and the dog walkers will let you pet their pooch. It's that kind of place. Getting AroundYou won't need your car to go downtown. It's a pleasant stroll away. You are welcome to bring your bike, boat, kayak or Segway - they are all accepted forms of transportation here. The bungalow has a covered car port and bikes can be safely kept in the rear veranda. You will need your own transportation for surrounding locations. There are some great road trips that wind around the lakes, and there is very limited public transportation. For the more adventurous, there are boat and bicycle rentals, seaplane trips, antique train journeys, Segway tours and more. Other Things to NoteOn initial booking, we must be advised about the number of people and pets staying any night. This is a non-smoking property.

The SpaceThis upstairs two bedroom villa has space and size. Plenty of room to relax. The villa has been completely renovated with new bathroom and kitchen. It was a labor of love and a lot of sweat equity. Except for the kitchen and bathroom where the floors have been tiled over, the rest of the house maintains the original wood floors in the same condition that the previous owners had kept them....sometimes with a few gouges and paint splatters. It gives the home it's authentic lodge feeling Guest AccessThis 2nd story Villa has it's own private entrance and it's own large private side yard. Currently, there is a washer and dryer on the downstairs back porch for our guest's convenience. Interaction with GuestsWe are always only a text, email or phone call away. Often we are nearby and can assist with any details that need tending to. If you need suggestions where to eat or what to do in town we have lots of ideas for you! The NeighborhoodMount Dora has been acknowledged as one of the best small towns in all of Florida. She has a terrific and charming historic district of which our rentals are included. The area is very safe for walking and exploring the area. The downtown has two large parks for walking and recreation and two smaller ones for music venues and picnics. Getting AroundOnce at our homes you have no worries about driving around town. Everything is just a short walk away which makes it very easy and safe and allows you to enjoy Mt. Dora to the fullest without worrying about parking. Young and old can manage the short distances to get to the downtown and the lakefront. Why worry about driving after having a cocktail or glass a wine and risk ruining your vacation. Walking is the preferred method of transportation by Mt Dorians. Other Things to NoteWe'll send you a trip itinerary of all the best places and things to see while in town after you book and before you come visit us.

The SpaceStep back into a charming 1920's era vintage Mount Dora cottage. The house is a cozy and bright artist's bungalow in the heart of historic Mount Dora within walking distance of downtown and the many restaurants, galleries, boutiques. Gilbert Park, Lake Dora and the Marina are just a few blocks away. A key feature of the house is that it is within walking distance to the many downtown art festivals and events. The living room includes TV and Wireless Internet. There is a spacious dining room and a fully equipped kitchen including dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, and all the necessary cooking equipment. Two bedrooms with queen size beds and all bedding, sheets & towels and toiletries. There is an additional sofa bed in the enclosed front sunroom so the house can sleep up to six. There is one bathroom and a fully equipped laundry room with washer and dryer. Guests have all kitchen and laundry privileges. There is a rear enclosed porch/sitting room and a back yard with patio, table, umbrella and chairs. The backyard has large moss draped camphor trees and plenty of shade. Great for singles, one or two couples or a family. The house has updated central air conditioning/heating and offers plenty of space for family activities or privacy. I travel quite a bit and am in Maine during the summer and fall but my friend and Resident Host, Elaine, will be there to greet you and will be available to you at any time during your stay. Guest AccessGuests have access to the entire house, including kitchen and laundry. Shaded patio and back yard are also open to guests. The garage is used for host’s personal storage and is not open to guests. Interaction with GuestsGuests are free to come and go at any time. Elaine, who lives in the neighborhood, will always be available to assist with any needs. Guests will have complete privacy during their time at the house. The NeighborhoodThe house is just three blocks from Gilbert Park and Lake Dora and a short walk along the lake to central Downtown. Just around the corner there are several cafés for breakfast or lunch, a bakery and a deli, Mt. Dora Brewing (brewery and restaurant) and The Mount Dora Golf Club! Restaurants and live music are all within a short stroll from the house! Other Things to NoteIn addition, for fishing and sporting fans there is Lake Dora, on the famous Florida Harris Chain of Lakes! The house, with private parking for a boat and car is just a few blocks from the Mount Dora landing and Marina! You can launch your boat within minutes after breakfast and be on your way to the interconnected Harris Chain of Lakes. The lakes are a fisherman and boaters paradise. Local bass fishing tournaments are held on a weekly basis and the Harris Chain is now a popular stop on the ESPN B.A.S.S. Tournament Trail with its great fishing highlighted on many outdoor TV shows. With so much water to explore, you never get tired of finding out what's around the next corner. A popular day trip is to boat north from Lake Griffin to visit the famous Silver Springs in Ocala. The round trip can be completed in one day and it is well worth the effort. And you can be back at the house for dinner or to visit the Mount Dora Brewing Company and restaurant right next door! Mount Dora is also only 35 minutes from Disney World! Enjoy!

Guest AccessYou will have full shared access to the living room and kitchen. Help yourself to the pots/pans/dishes/silverware as needed, just please clean what you use and I'll do the same. You may personally use the mini-fridge to store any grocery items you buy, and if it doesn't fit there go ahead and use the main one in the kitchen. There is no shortage of coffee, and if we're both here at the same time, I'll make you a strong cuban-style espresso via Moka Pot. If you prefer French Press or standard drip coffee, those are available as well. Feel free to lounge in the living room, backyard/frontyard and front patio as well. Fast WiFi is freely available inside and outside of the house. Interaction with GuestsI'll be like a ghost unless you want directions or need help with anything. Your privacy is respected, and I'm often busy, so we probably won't interact much expect while you are getting settled. That being said, I'll open up and share tips about getting around and exploring! Mount Dora and Orlando have a lot to offer, so feel free to ask! The NeighborhoodQuiet neighborhood canopied by trees. Excellent place to study/work peacefully or to enjoy a vacation. It's a little slice of rural paradise. Getting AroundThere is no public transportation infrastructure here, so your best bet is having a car. Uber is much cheaper than cabs around here if you go that route. Orlando is about 30-50 minutes away depending on where you're going. Downtown Mount Dora is 5 minutes away via car, and you could even bike there quickly during festivals.

There is a public walking path between our home and the lake which makes for a nice walk partially around Lake Gertrude.
