The SpaceI have a private bedroom with a full bathroom (hall bathroom), in my clean, updated 3 bedroom home centrally located in Mt. Pleasant, right off the Isle of Palms connector. My home is in a very quiet, safe neighborhood and is less than 3 miles from Isle of Palms, 6 miles from Sullivans Island, and 11 miles from Charleston. Mt. Pleasant has everything you need, including numerous grocery stores, Towne Center shopping, a library, post office, banks, plentiful restaurants and bars, fantastic attractions, beautiful parks, and outdoor recreation such as tennis, kayaking, and boat tours. Come enjoy Charleston’s historic culture, renowned restaurants and fabulous night life! The bedroom is furnished with a queen-sized bed, dresser and plenty of closet space. The bed has quality bedding and mattress. I also have towels and basic toiletries for your use and a washer and dryer you're welcome to use should you need it during your stay. Free, fast wi-fi is available throughout the home. The kitchen, with an eat-in area, is available to guests as well as use of the rest of the home. You're welcome to use the fully equipped kitchen if you'd like. I have a Cuisinart coffee machine, Cuisinart Convection Toaster Oven Broiler, and a microwave that is also a convection oven. Please feel free to bring any food or drink items you like and use the refrigerator. I also have a gas-grill on the back deck that you're welcome to use. There are vaulted ceilings in the family room with a wood-burning fireplace and a door that opens to the private backyard with deck, perfect for grilling out or relaxing watching the wildlife in the pond. The family room has a TV if you just want to kick back and relax. There is on-site parking, in the double driveway. To take full advantage of what the Charleston area has to offer you really need a car. Although car rental places are everywhere, prices are generally better if you rent one at the Charleston Airport. Thrifty, Enterprise, and Advantage are usually the cheapest options. The weekends are much cheaper for car rentals. You can often get a small car Friday through Monday for less than $75. But if you don't have a car, the CARTA bus system is available for transportation. The nearest bus stop is a 10 minute walk away. Buses go to Charleston, Isle of Palms and Sullivans Island. I have a 12 year old Labrador Retriever, named Zoe, who is extremely well-behaved, great with everyone she meets, and sleeps in my room. I work as a realtor at Carolina One Real Estate, and my schedule varies, so please feel free to come and go as you please. I will also gladly provide you with personalized recommendations for restaurants/attractions and anything else that will help make your visit more enjoyable. Don't hesitate to ask if you have additional questions! Guest AccessGuests have access to everything in my home. Nothing is off limits! Interaction with GuestsI interact with my guests as much or as little as they want.

The SpaceYou will experience life in a Charleston single home in a TND community. You are welcome to enjoy sitting on the front porch overlooking Eastlake and sipping a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. You can step out and walk in the beautiful I'ON neighborhood around 2 lakes (.97miles) and alongside the marsh (3miles). The beach is only 15 minutes away and you can be in Downtown Charleston in about 10 minutes. You can walk to some restaurants and a few shops. There are 3 rooms available. Guest AccessThe guests have access to their room, the bathroom close to their bedroom and the first floor living areas--kitchen, dining room, living room and family room, including the front porch. During your stay we want you to feel at "home away from home." Interaction with GuestsWe enjoy people and love community living. Steven is American and Elisabeth is French. We met in Zaire in December 1980 and have been married for 32+ years. One of our adult daughters lives with us while in graduate school as well as our English Springer, Boaz. The NeighborhoodWe love the friendly people that live here. We feel very blessed to live in such an amazing place, where we see wildlife on a daily basis as we walk our dog. One of the thing we love about this neighborhood is that we can retrieve to the marsh walk and spend some time in one of the many chairs alongside the marsh and think for a while as we listen to the wind's music in the marsh grass. We love going for a run or walk there also. Even though we are still in the neighborhood, we have a feeling of being away. Getting AroundSome public transport available, but not reliable. A few restaurants and shops are in walking distance as well as a public library. Other Things to NoteKayaking on the lakes is much fun. The home is peaceful and we value a servant's heart. We have a desire to make your stay memorable and a time of personal growth and rest. Charleston is home to Spoleto Arts Festival every end of May to early June.

The SpaceI usually book through my Suite Retreat listing in same location, as it has its own bath and more privacy. This downstairs room uses the hall bath (which I sometimes use). It is an option for those traveling together needing a second room, or one with stair/mobility issues. Before joining AirBnB a visitor referred from my church wrote after staying here, "Your home is lovely and we are so grateful to have had the opportunity to get to know you. Thanks for all you did to make our stay just wonderful. Your location is ideal for a Charleston visitor, and I'll be singing your praises." A scenic 10-minute drive leads you to both historic Charleston, and Sullivans Island/ Isle of Palms beaches. On site enjoy koi fish, quiet wooded yard, and walk or bicycle to charming shops/restaurants and waterfront park. I try to anticipate travelers' needs with plush towels, choice of pillows, free breakfast options, and a list of places you might enjoy visiting, yet give you space to enjoy your trip on your own terms. You will need a car (or to call a cab) as pubic transit has not bee a priority of our government. You may use my bicycle for shorter trips. Free Wi-Fi, laundry, kitchen, porch, HDTV, wooded walking trail, use of basic bicycles and surfboard. I'm available to help in any way and answer questions, the home is spacious and I respect your privacy. Very quiet, quietly upscale, older brick single family homes and in a thicket of woods running alongside Hobcaw Creek. Charleston, sadly, does not have useful public transportation. I can give you a lift now and then for $1 mi roundtrip. There are taxis, but they are not very good, not very reliable and pretty expensive. We have plenty of parking for your car (s). I provide 100% cotton bedding (except winter duvet fill) and your choice of poly, foam or feather pillows. I stock a wide variety of foods, teas and coffees and invite you to help yourself to anything you want for breakfast at no additional cost. You may use the fridge and all kitchen appliances of you wish to cook. You may wash a load of clothing for free. I'm happy to lend you shampoo or sunscreen, when needed. You would do the same for me! There is a television with cable. We also have Wi-Fi. Very comfortable. The house is located in a nice neighborhood which is in the center of town. So the house is fully accessible and will be happy to help with anything. Interaction with GuestsWelcome to your home away from home !! Jeff and I will be your host. Looking Forward to meeting you ! The NeighborhoodGreat neighborhood ! Don't be surprised if the neighbors pop in and out. We all are very close and always visiting each other.... Or in need of a stick of butter ! Getting AroundThe bus stop is a five minute walk { $1.50 } or plenty of taxi services around. Most visitors have there own car though. I will be happy to help if you need any recommendations . Other Things to NoteWe just had a new delivery... A puppy Chihuahua. Her name is Leia and she is small enough to be tucked away if need be. But she is too sweet and loves being a host !

The Space***After five wonderful years hosting on Airbnb, I'm moving across town in early 2017. Thus, the room in my solar house will only be available through December 31st. Enjoy comfortable accommodations in your own bedroom with private full bathroom. Guests frequently rave about the pillowtop Queen mattress and luxurious high thread-count sheets. Also included in the room is a dresser, bedside lamp, alarm clock/radio with dual alarms, sitting chair, vanity mirror, ceiling fan, power strip with USB charge ports and iPhone/Android charging cables, and Marpac white-noise machine. A folding laptop table is located in the closet. In addition to fresh towels, the private full bathroom has a hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, face wash, hand soap, and shaving cream. Under the sink there are a variety of hygiene items that may help you avoid an emergency trip to the store if you forgot something. There is a closet with room to hang clothing and a luggage rack for conveniently storing a suitcase or duffel bag. On the back of the bathroom door is a full-length mirror. Sustainability is a noticeable theme throughout my home. Your showers are provided via a solar water heater and more than 80% of my home's electricity is generated via 9 photovoltaic panels on the roof. The towels and linens are laundered with non-toxic, biodegradable detergent and usually dried on a clothesline. Household cleaners, soaps, and shampoos are non-toxic and cruelty-free. I have a recycle bin in the kitchen and compost food waste. I have a notebook in the guest room with lots of ideas about events and activities plus my personal recommendations for restaurants and bars. Of course I will also gladly provide you with personalized recommendations for restaurants/attractions and anything else that will help make your visit more enjoyable. I sincerely want you to enjoy your time in Charleston so drop me a line if you have any questions! Guest AccessThough I'm occasionally home when guests arrive, I have it setup so you can come and go without me here via a keypad lock. You're welcome anywhere except the master bedroom or attic. For those with mobility issues, please note the bedroom is on the 2nd floor. Self-serve breakfast is complimentary. The offerings vary at any given time, but you're welcome to anything in the kitchen that is breakfasty. To help you wake up I have a drip coffee maker and espresso machine both with fresh ground coffee, and assorted tea bags. In the cabinet above the coffee maker you will find assorted granola and cereal bars as well as powdered creamer. On the other side you'll find bread, English muffins, and sometimes bananas. The refrigerator nearly always has milk substitutes like rice milk and/or almond milk in addition to juice, jam, and chilled water. Feel free to store items in my refrigerator. Interaction with GuestsMy interaction with guests varies, though I always respect your privacy. I love talking to my guests so you're welcome to come downstairs and chat or ask questions. Based on my work and social schedule, I typically cross paths with guests once or twice during a 2 night stay. I should note that although I live alone, my girlfriend Joanne occasionally stops by. I love kids, but because of my rotating shift schedule it can be difficult for me to host those with very young children whose noise levels are less predictable. The NeighborhoodMy townhouse is located on the western side of Mount Pleasant about two miles east of the Ravenel Bridge, making it very convenient to Shem Creek, downtown Charleston, Sullivan's Island, Isle of Palms, and elsewhere. You can usually be at your destination downtown or on Sullivan's Island in less than 15 minutes. This part of Mount Pleasant has everything you need, including numerous grocery stores (Trader Joes, Whole Foods, Publix, Bi-Lo, Harris Teeter), drug stores, banks, plentiful restaurants and bars, stellar parks, and outdoor recreation such as tennis, kayaking, bicycle rentals, and boat tours. My house is in a very quiet, safe neighborhood. There are a handful of restaurants within walking distance but beyond that you'd need a car to get around comfortably. For the runners and bikers among you, there are a lot of good options from my house. The neighborhood streets are less-traveled and can get you to US-17 and Coleman Blvd, both of which have well-lit sidewalks and bike lanes. On Coleman Blvd you can get to the Ravenel Bridge ped path and all the way to Sullivan's Island. Getting AroundMy house is 5.3 miles from Sullivan's Island, 10.3 miles to Isle of Palms, and 6.0 miles to downtown Charleston. Uber: During standard times, you can get most anywhere on Sullivan's Island, Isle of Palms, Mt Pleasant, or Downtown Charleston for $8-14. A ride to/from the Charleston Airport usually runs $18-25. Taxi Service: Approximately $15 each way between my house and downtown Charleston. Bus Service: Mt Pleasant is served by route 40 and route 401. Route 40 is the only way to get from Mt Pleasant into downtown Charleston and it comes by approximately every 40 minutes. Route 401 only travels within Mt Pleasant. The nearest stop for bus 40 is near the intersection of South Shelmore Blvd and the Frontage Rd, directly across from the CVS. If you look at a map website, do a search on the following lat/lon to see the bus stop location. Thirty-two point eight zero nine four six North. Seventy-nine point eight seven seven eight West. It is about a 15 minute walk from my house. The bus takes about 25-30 minutes to reach the Visitor's Center in downtown Charleston. There you can transfer to other buses serving the Charleston peninsula if you choose. The fare is $1.75 each way (bills and coins accepted; exact change needed). You can also purchase one or three day unlimited passes on board. Bus 401 picks up next to Harris Teeter on Houston Northcutt Blvd. There is no regular bus service to any of the beaches so a taxi or personal vehicle are required. Other Things to Note* This is an LGBT-friendly household. * My girlfriend's dog occasionally visits when I don't have guests. He doesn't get access to the guest room either way, but if you have an extreme allergy to dogs you may have issues if there are lingering allergens in the common areas. * If you're especially sensitive to fragrances please let me know in advance so I can make an extra effort to minimize their use before you arrive.
