The SpaceOur rustic home on top of Raymond Hill, Dubbo, with 360 degree views as far north as the Warrumbungles and the night lights of Dubbo. Our 3 spacious family studios will be everything you expect and more. For the perfect romantic getaway, the Heritage studio will suit.
Settle down after arriving or touring the area to a quiet drink under the trees and enjoy our magnificent views. Of a night, lay on a rug under the stars which are finer then most have ever seen. Enjoy the summer nights and the absolute quiet of rural setting which most have never heard.
Locals wanting that special night away from home and yet no need to travel far. Perhaps it is an anniversary where we can arrange your children's care in your own home and you duck out of town for the weekend of leisure and relaxation in a romantic setting. Enjoy candle lite table for two over looking the lights of Dubbo, breakfast in bed or a quite night on the lounge and we can order in.
Travellers wanting to experience a few nights in a rustic home and enjoy the best views in Dubbo while experiencing small acreage life. The nights are something to see. You won't believe how many stars there are in the southern sky or how enjoyable it is to just sit with a glass and watch the sun go down either in the cool leafy surrounds or in front of a warm open fire.
We have a menagerie of domestic animals; cows, sheep, goats, cooks, dogs and cats or oodles of Australian native wildlife; birds, echidna, kangaroos, wallabies, owls, hawks and many, many other animals.
The grounds are child friendly with feeding animals or just playing on the lawns. Children can pick their own vegetables for dinner while mum & dad enjoy the spa.
Well behaved animals are welcome with prior arranging and outside accommodation is provided.
Overseas visitors will experience something truly Australian at the grass roots level. Have a meal cooked in the wood fueled stove just like the pioneers or walk the grounds to see 360 degree views of the Australian rural landscape. Have some quite time reading a book under the famous Australian gum trees or use Bulwarra as a base to venture to some of the Worlds best. Step back a million years when you explore the Wellington Caves and Phosphate Mine. The Cathedral Cave boasts the Southern Hemisphere's and arguably the world's largest stalagmite, a limestone structure measuring 15 metres high and 32 metres around its bases. Find yourself surrounded by magnificent wildlife on wide open plains at the Taronga Western Plains Zoo, or experience life in the early 1900?s for criminals at the Old Dubbo Gaol. Or meet local people during dinner and hear their stories of living in Australia. Guest AccessBreakfast is served generally after the animals. First the chooks, lambs, calves, kangaroos and any other animal in the menagerie there on the day. You may even see wild king parrots, wallaroos, kookaburras, kingfishers, echidna or any number of other wild life which frequent the Hill.
We do have a ramp from the car park to the verandah and studios. The Earth Studio (disabled compliant) has a slight ramp to get over the sliding door runs. There are no screens in the showers, only an ever so slightly, the floor runs the water to the drain. You can go a long way round, past the back of the house, around to the gardens via our house grass/lawns to the games room and then there are ramps up in to the alfresco area and main house.
I do have a fold up king single bed which can be added with still plenty of space. I also don't mind people moving furniture to their needs.
Interaction with GuestsAs host I will be available as much or as little as each guest require within reason. The NeighborhoodThere are stairs off the 20 metre verandah to come to the garden, games room, alfresco area, main house with communal kitchen and formal lounge/dinning room. The paddocks are rocky and uneven with many native grasses growing.
There is provision for you to prepare and cook meals in the kitchen/BBQs.
There are the wonderful surrounds, games room and animals for you enjoy and relax. Our animals at this time are: cows, chickens, sheep (Oct/Nov we should have oodles of lambs & chicks) and dogs.
