The train station is situated on the rocks above the beach. Blue Bird Garage Market takes place every Friday night on the edge of this seaside village. It is filled with a collection of local Artisans, specialty cooks, bakers, producers and Designers. Handpicked South African wine, craft beer, delicious food, live music from local artists is on offer. Muizenberg is also the perfect place to learn to surf, there are a few surf schools on the beach front. Getting AroundThere are 2 train stations within walking distance. The SpaceSpread out and relax in this modern but relaxed apartment. Lounge on our sun terrace, or next to the pool or head to the beach for a surf or to catch a glimpse of the whales that come to our shores from august to november. The NeighborhoodMuizenberg is a bohemian village next to the sea, an ecelctic mix of people : artists, musicians, surfers. Lots of restaurants, shops and bars The beach is a Blue Flag beach, meaning well maintained, clean water and safe. Kalk Bay, a stunning tourist spot and fishing harbour is a 30 min walk away, the walk along the sea is well worth it. Getting AroundThe train station is a 3 minute walk away and trains run in Cape Tow central and along the coast to Simonstown via Kalk Bay. We are right next to the main road that leads to the Peninsula ( Cape Point, Kalk Bay, Boulders Beach, Simonstown etc ) Other Things to NoteThere is a laundry around the corner and a cleaner can.be arranged whenever required.

Keeping left take the M3 direction Muizenberg( Left off ramp). Follow the M3 until the end then Turn left at the intersection. At the next set of Traffic lights turn Right. Drive about 150m then Turn Right into Boyes Drive( mountain road). Follow Boyes Drive direction Kalk Bay. Take the 2nd Left into Anderson Road and then the 2nd left into Gatesville Road. The SpaceA perfect base if you do not want to stay in the city or would like to explore Simon's Town, Cape Point, Kommetjie, Noordhoek and surrounds. Close to surfing spots, lots of nature walks, MTB trails, restaurants and coffee shops. The garden studio/bachelor flat is newly renovated and separate from our 3 bedroom house. We are situated in Fish Hoek, a coastal suburb of Cape Town - it is a great base to explore Cape Town and especially the Southern Peninsula. THE ROOM/FLAT: The flat is furnished with a double-bed (please note the pictures still show a single bed), closet-space and has a double door leading to the pool, garden and patio. It has a bathroom with shower, basin and toilet as well as a small kitchen with microwave, two plate induction stove and bar fridge. The flat is decorated and furnished in a simple, but warm and modern style. There are no laundry facilities, but plenty laundry services around the area around the shopping malls. We have a cleaning lady that comes in weekly to clean the house. Guests have the option of allowing her access to the flat at a small additional fee. THE GARDEN: The garden area has braai (barbecue) facilities, tables and chairs for having meals outside, a swimming pool, fish pond and lots of shady spots for reading or enjoying a cup of coffee or tea. Mountain views all around. THE NEIGHBOURHOOD and ACTIVITIES around: The house is situated in the quiet, friendly suburb of Fish Hoek. We are closer to Kalkbay than the centre of Fish Hoek and shops/restaurants in arty Kalkbay give ample choice for a meal out. There are lots of hiking/MTB routes in the area as well as art galleries, interesting markets, antique stores and shops to keep you busy. ALTHOUGH YOU CAN WALK TO THE BEACH AND OTHER SHOPS, WE DO RECOMMEND HAVING A CAR AS WE ARE IN A SUBURB - in a quiet area and not on a main road. We have ample options around the neighbourhood, within 5mins drive, but walking will be around 20-30min. It is a great place to be away from the crowds, but if you want to be in the HUB of restaurants and shops, rather have a look at our other listing in Muizenberg. A quick drive will have you exploring the surfing beaches of Muizenberg and Kommetjie, Cape Point, Noordhoek. Public transport is a 10-minute walk away, but we would recommend a rental car to enjoy the scenic drives around the area. We have additional parking available if you do have a rental. Guests will be sharing the property with us and our two rescue dogs, Luke and Kyle. We work full-time and chances are we will hardly see you on weekdays. We love Cape Town and happy to recommend restaurants, interesting shopping ideas and things to do - if you are keen. We look forward to meeting you. The NeighborhoodDespite being an official suburb of the greater Cape Town, Fish Hoek has a character of a fishermans village and feels very different to the rest of the city. It is close enough to town that a lot of people choose the slower pace of living on the coast and commute to town for work - often by train. The railway from the central business district of Cape Town to Simon's Town passes through Kalk Bay and in some places the line is only metres from the water's edge. FISHING and the BEACH: You can watch fishing trawlers come in at the Kalkbay harbour and buy fresh fish straight from the market or watch the traditional "trek" fishing on the Fish Hoek beach. Fish Hoek beach is also popular for surfing, sailing and sunbathing. The beach is about 1.5 km (.93 mi) long and quite flat. The bay is protected from the currents and stronger surf in the rest of False Bay. Swimming is allowed along the entire beach with lifesavers on duty during the summer peak season, and body surfing, boogie boarding, wind surfing and kayaking are popular. The water is far warmer than the Atlantic Seaboard, averaging between just under 17 °C (63 °F) There is also the Lower Silvermine Wetland area with wonderful walks for nature lovers. Getting AroundThere is a train station 10 minutes walk from the house, but we would highly recommend a rental car to really explore the area.

The SpaceThe house, originally built in the 1920's, is a unique late-Edwardian sea-side home. Built of the sandstone that was excavated from the site. It boasts large proportioned rooms and many original features. It includes three fireplaces, recently restored timber floors and incredible views to Muizenberg seafront and the estuary below. The NeighborhoodMuizenberg is a laid-back seaside town on the shores of False Bay and comes alive in season, with holiday-makers crowding its streets as they make their way down to what is perhaps Cape Town’s nicest beginners surfing beach. There are a variety of surf and adventure operators, restaurants, coffee shops and apartments located along the main beach. Look out for the brightly coloured Victorian beach houses, a visual echo of a time when this was Cape Town’s premier swimming beach. Getting AroundThe house is located 4min walk from the local train station, False Bay and 8min stroll from the beachfront. Other Things to NoteThe location offers direct access to some of Cape Town finest hiking and walking trails and is a unique summer escape in one of Cape Town's most underrated vacation towns.

A queen size bed is made up with cotton linen; the bathroom has a bath with shower overhead, bath and beach towels are provided. The kitchen is equipped and there is a flat screen T.V. with DSTV. You need only to park your car in the secure lock up garage and spend the rest of your stay strolling to the restaurants, bars, tidal pools, beach, fisherman’s harbor or exploring the many quirky shops. Two considerations before booking, one is the apartment is in a small block on the second floor and the garage is relatively small, the building having been built before SUV's became popular. We will meet and greet you personally. Kalk Bay is one of Cape Town’s trendiest seaside villages and reflects a cosmopolitan heritage and a long fishing history. There is a bohemian arty vibe, a growing nightlife, with a small theater and a couple of galleries and a number of restaurants. Kalk Bay is also a hub of outdoor action – from sea fishing to angling; one of the best reefs in Cape Town for surfers and the fascinating Kalk Bay caves for land and foot adventures. The SpaceThe apartment sleeps four adults very comfortably in two en suite bedrooms. Both have shower, toilet and basin. The beds and linen are extremely comfortable. Linen and towels are provided for self catering guests. The living and kitchen area is extremely spacious and well equipped. The kitchen has all the necessary appliances for your holidaying convenience including a washing machine. The room is split by a dining table and chairs. The sea facing lounge area has comfortable couches overlooking False Bay. There are TV's in the lounge area and in the main bedroom and the full DSTV package is included. The patio door opens off the lounge and is extremely convenient for summer days where there are a couple of outdoor chairs and a table. Other than what's in the apartment the complex has the following. The parking bay is directly below the unit and there is guest parking across the road in a dedicated area if required. The complex has secured access and the perimeter is also security fenced. The apartment also has its own security features that make it a very safe place if that's a concern. There is an extremely well located fresh water swimming pool that over looks False Bay for you to use when you return from Dale Brook tidal pool across the road. The complex caretaker's name is Joseph, he is a mate and is there to help! We are Capetonians and run a variety of hospitality businesses including a hotel in The Noordhoek Farm Village, De Noordhoek Hotel, and a Restaurant and Pub Group called The Toad with establishments in Noordhoek, Lakeside and Newlands that are firm Cape Town favourite meeting places. Our award winning Butcher Man is Green Point is certainly worth a visit for that special cut of great South African meat. This aside we do try our best to assist where possible but in this busy world we expect people to do what pleases them and ask for help or advise when they need it. The apartment is self catered and as such there is no real host other than us being able to give you top Cape Town tips on what to do and where to go. There is so much to do in St James and the Southern Peninsula that you won't have to wander too far to really enjoy all it has too offer. This spacious apartment is in the lower half of a mountainside villa that offers beautiful views of the ocean and sleeps up to 6 people.
