The Winelands, Table Mountain, Cape Point, The Waterfront, Robben Island, Cape Town Stadium, Boulders penguins, Chapman’s Peak, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens and the famous restaurants and bars of trendy Kalk Bay fishing village are a short drive. Nearby beaches of white sand and calm tidal pools offer some of Cape Town’s best swimming. Horse-riding, hiking, surfing, whale-watching, shark-diving, fishing, diving and outstanding scenic drives are nearby.
Clovelly golfcourse is just next door - Simon's Town, Westlake and Steenberg golfcourses are just 10 minutes drive.
Clovelly is an ideal location for a vast range of special interest holidays. Sport is a huge attraction with the city hosting top tournaments in rugby, cricket, golf, cycling, surfing and soccer.. The mountains provide endless caving, rock-climbing, mountain-biking and hiking opportunities and the coast is a magnet for those into sailing, fishing, scuba-diving, surfing, kayaking and seasonal whale-watching and shark-diving. Several surf-schools in Muizenberg compete for novices and the Pisces diving centre is just 5km away in Glencairn. The Cape Town coast is fantastic for wreck diving, and the warm waters of the Indian Ocean on the False Bay side of the peninsula are home to extensive kelp beds which provide a safe-haven for a huge array of fish.
Cape Town is noted for its exceptional cuisine and the city is home to numerous international award-winning restaurants and chefs. A few offer demonstrations and participatory workshops for foodies looking to hone their skills. We are blessed with a wide range of good restaurants and bars in our local neighbourhoods, including the Olympia Cafe, The Harbour House and Polana, Theresa's and La Parada to name just a few of those in Kalk Bay. Cape to Cuba and the famous Brass Bell pub regularly make it into the guide books. If you prefer a take-home meal then Fish Hoek has all the family favourites.
Bird-watching is an extremely popular activity in the area and tours on offer include going out with the pelagic fishermen to observe albatross. The region’s magical fynbos vegetation is responsible for the area being declared a ‘Floral Kingdom’ in recognition of the huge numbers of endemic species found here.
