The SpaceThe Creative Room has a meditative, peaaceful feel, where guests comment with surprise, on waking up, how they 'slept like babies', feel refreshed and rejuvenated before even gravitating to the kitchen to make yourself a nice cup of tea or fresh coffee, which you can help yourself to on the shelf near the kettle. It has its own door outside to the verandah, overlooking the Great Grandfather Fig Tree, and garden. What makes it unique? It has a magnificent nurturing Grandfather fig tree right in the middle of the land bringing healing to all those who stay here! Crystals Galore in the land, garden and house to cleanse and revitalise you during your stay… The room has a Queen size bed for 2 people to sleep. A second bed is available, and is a comfy (but not too soft!) single mattress which I can make up for you, and add the bed base if you require it to be off the floor. I do not leave it there permanently, because there is of course more space in the room should you not require more than one big bed. Please let me know in advance if you need this extra single bed, and if you would like a raised single bed, or happy with a mattress on the floor. As it is a slight squeeze, it is better to just have the mattress on the floor, as it is pretty much next to the queen bed, and becomes level when raised, and depending on who you are travelling with, you may want a little space : ) We will be sharing the beautiful, spacious bathroom, and the living areas. As it is a very spacious house, you will still be able to have peace to yourself to read your book, or enjoy meditating with the exquisite nature around you. Guest AccessGuests can relax in the living areas inside and outside verandah sofas, the expansive garden with its swing, wooden chairs and table, and lawn to lie on under a tree, land, and forest, the kitchen to cook if they would like to, and to feel as much at home as possible. So many options of spaces in the spacious living area on the wooden floor, on the verandah, out in the back or front garden, in the forest....for doing Chi Gong/ Tai Chi/ Yoga Practice/ Stretches/ Belly Dancing etc! This newly Eco-redecorated bedroom is on the other side of the house to the verandah, with a window view of the side garden, and natural rocks! Interaction with GuestsI am happy to socialise if the guests would like to get to know the locals, or to know more about the area. I am also more than happy to give the guests the space and freedom that they need for a relaxing, peaceful holiday or time out. The NeighborhoodThe neighbourhood is beautiful, friendly, kind and easy-going. There are several yummy eateries around the area, Kiva Spa, Crystal Castle 10 mins away, parks, hikes, etc.... Getting AroundThe house is 3.5 kms from the town, so about a 45 min walk, so a car would give you a lot more independence. There are a few buses to and from Mullumbimby to other close by towns, Other Things to NoteI am also a Reiki practitioner, and can give some peaceful, healing sessions at your own leisure during your stay at The Treehouse (only $50 for guests, for just over an hour, usually, $70), in the comfort of your room, or outside on the verandah surrounded by nature's greenery in particular is really magical, with crystals..... : ) Many come back for another one! : ) Also, as it obviously gets a bit chilly in the cooler months, I recommend that you bring some slippers or nice, thick woolly socks for your feet, since it is a shoes-off house. A warm jumper or wrap-around wouldn't go amiss either! : )

The SpaceA newly-built, large rustic retreat room, below my apartment, with fresh linen & towels- perfect for a haven from festivalling, or as a base to explore Byron Bay (15 mins drive away) and the gorgeous fertile hinterlands. It's tucked away down a quiet lane, but less than 5 mins stroll from central Mullumbimby. Breakfast is supplied in your own fridge (toast, jams & vegemite, orange juice, plus tea & coffee- please let me know any dietary requirements like gluten-free/soy milk/rice milk etc- I aim to please) There is a single mattress used as a daybed, but also available as a bed, & a couple of other single mattresses can be supplied if you're a group of festival goers travelling in a pack! I have lived here for 10 years, & it's a quiet, solid, 'country town' street. The rear lane access means it's private, hidden by tiger grass and bamboo screens. There are up to 3 bikes for you to use around town, or you can very easily walk. A car is unfortunately essential for getting around greater distances- the bus timetable is pretty scarce. An airport shuttle bus will drop you off at Uncle Tom's Pies or central Mullum if you are arriving from the Gold Coast, & I will gladly pop down & pick you up. Pets are possible by discussion... But the Yeti Cat will need to be informed :) Guest AccessAccess to my home upstairs, for shared use of gorgeous bathroom. You can use the wifi, and laze in the hammock downstairs too. You have your own fridge, kettle, toaster and crockery, so can have a quiet breakfast in bed downstairs if you like :) Interaction with GuestsWill meet and greet you of course, and settle you in, but then it's up to you- I'm a performing artist so am in and out a lot, rehearsing etc (you may see me walking in the garden on stilts), or else teaching Pilates. Happy to point you in the direction of good food/coffee/massages etc, and if I'm heading to Byron you're welcome to a lift. Generally I keep myself to myself, & like a peaceful home when I'm not working at festivals etc, so prefer non-party animals staying downstairs; or at least, be party animals somewhere else, then come home here to rest :) Be warned: the resident friendly cat Yeti will definitely check you out, so if you have an allergy/dislike, best to stay somewhere else, sorry. The NeighborhoodI love my neighbourhood: friendly, quiet, full of natural gardens and plentiful birds, especially in the morning dawn chorus. I thoroughly recommend morning walks on Brunswick Heads beach (happy to take you too if I'm going), and there are plenty of lovely cafes there for brekky. Here in Mullum we have the Poinciana (good coffee), or Lulu's, plus La Table... Oh the list goes on! There is also Santos Juice Bar for green smoothies/sushi/vegan treats etc, and fantastic lunches at Rock n Roll Cafe. Then there's Japanese or the famous Milk and Honey Pizza place for dinner... Seriously, you'll never leave... PS: Did I mention Kiva Spa? Outdoor jacuzzis, plunge pool, wet sauna, massages available... Why would you ever leave...? Getting AroundA 15 min drive from Byron Bay, 8 mins to Brunswick Heads, 45mins to Gold Coast airport, and 1.5 hours to Brisbane. Alas there is only a minimal public transport timetable. But if going to any of the festivals (Splendour/Falls/Blues etc), buses pick up and drop off in central Mullum, which is the best option for travel. I'm happy to meet you and guide you to my place the first time, or else will provide easy directions- it's so close to town. Padlock the bikes to the lampost next to the bus pick up point, and you'll be home in 2 mins :) Other Things to NoteThere's no TV or DVD or radio. Just lamps, books, board games, cards, and a glass chess set. Do nothing. Unwind. Chill out... Need a Pilates class in your own home? I'm your woman! I've been teaching for 7 years, and have a bunch of equipment I can provide. Turn your trip into a Pilates retreat with daily classes- cost & times by arrangement Extra single mattresses can also be arranged if there are more than 3 in your group
