If you are travelling as a family or in a large group, you are looking to relocate to Brisbane, you commute and need a home away from home, or even looking for a great place to host a function and need some rooms to go with that, read on... Chez Wilde provides you with the use of the entire ground floor area of this modern, luxury two story home. You have 2 bedrooms with queen size beds and large robes, with plenty of hanging and drawer space. You can use the study as a third bedroom with a very comfortable queen size sofa bed, use it for work, or grab a book from the extensive library in the study and pass your time reading. We can comfortably sleep 6 guests, and if you have children, we can always help you make up beds on the lounges in your living area (or pitch a tent for them to sleep under the stars?). Fresh bedding and towels are supplied for each guest, which you may launder at Chez Wilde for extended stays. A washing machine, dryer, an iron and ironing mat are all available for your use. You have your own kitchen, equipped with an espresso coffee machine, tea facilities, a convection oven, a microwave, toaster, two burner stove and a fridge. All of the cookware and tableware is top quality. Tea and coffee (the good stuff!) are with our compliments. Why not make the most of our fantastic climate and do the cooking on your deck, where you will find a 3 burner BBQ, with hotplates, grill, an insulated hood and rotisserie for roasting, and a side burner for pots, pans and woks. Your indoor lounge and entertainment area is equipped with a 46" flat screen TV, a BlueRay DVD player, Apple TV, PS3 and an Airplay enabled sound system, as well as a huge range of movies to watch, books to read, games to play and an eclectic music collection to listen to. Fancy a game of snooker or 8 ball? An 8'x4' billiard table is also provided, though please ensure children only play supervised by an adult as it is a beautiful slate topped table. As a guest, you will have unlimited high speed Wi-Fi access to stay in touch with work or your family and friends. Your bathroom has a shower, bath, basin and toilet, with your basic toiletries supplied. A hair dryer & hair straightener are also provided. Your indoor living space opens up to your alfresco covered deck area where you can enjoy our wonderful climate and the breezes from Moreton Bay (just a 3 minute stroll from your front door). The Tuscan table has seating for 6 and is a great place to have a drink or your evening meal after your long day of work or play. And if the weather is too inclement to dine outside, the lounge room coffee table can be converted to a 6 place dining table. If you are thinking about having guests over, we have plenty of additional tables and chairs that can be made available to you. A fully fenced yard makes Chez Wilde pet friendly and there's plenty of manicured lawn area for the kids to play securely. There are a lot of incidentals that you will find in your rooms that you may use or borrow, such as umbrellas, a picnic hamper and blanket for a day at the park or the beach, an esky (chilly bin for New Zealanders), food and wine touring guides, brochures for local attraction, bocce balls for a game on the lawn, emergency toiletries, a car cleaning kit. Your front lawn converts into a full size doubles badminton court, and there is a basketball hoop and backboard if you care for some more physical R&R during your stay. If you would like to join me for a home made craft beer and enjoy the views from my deck upstairs, or you would like to be left in peace and privacy, you just need to let me know. We do share the entrance door to the home so it is inevitable that we will at least bump into each other during your stay. The NeighborhoodWynnum is the closest Bayside Suburb to the City of Brisbane, and with a metro train station that takes you into the heart of the city located a short 5 minute walk away, a daily commute or just a visit to our River City couldn't be easier. Head in the other direction and within a 3 minute walk you have reached the foreshore of Moreton Bay, a wonderful place to take a stroll, ride a bike, have a meal or just enjoy the view across to the Bay Islands. Whilst Chez Wilde doesn't offer a swimming pool, a short stroll along the esplanade brings you to the Wynnum public saltwater pool and water park, that all kids, big and small, will enjoy. It runs from the suburb of Cleveland, another spectacular Bayside Suburb worthy of a visit and where ferries can connect you to the fascinating Bay Islands. The other end of the line is the City of Brisbane. From here you make a connection to the Airtrain, which services the domestic and international terminals. The SpaceBest suited to a couple although two children could easily sleep on the double sofa-bed. Car necessary - as public transport is not very regular, particularly weekends. We have plenty of off-street parking for your vehicle. The large private suite overlooks our 15 metre (45 ft) pool and garden - the perfect environment to relax in, especially those who are competing or supporting teams/children at the internationally acclaimed Sleeman Sports Complex 3 mins drive away or at the Belmont Rifle Range. The brand new velodrome at Sleeman is now officially opened and they will be hosting Commonwealth Games Cycling events there. So too, various shooting events at the Belmont shooting complexes. Newly installed air conditioning ensures your comfort throughout our balmy summer months and cooler winter evenings. Access to and from the airport is very direct along the freeway, avoiding all suburban areas. It takes only 20 minutes to drive there from our home. Linking to the freeway to visit the Sunshine coast or Gold Coast is very simple and very quick - 3 minutes and you're on the freeway north and south! We are also very close to direct link roads in to Brisbane City and certain times of the day can only take 20 minutes. Please note that because this is our home and for security purposes, we do not accept any guests without photo ID and off-line verification. We will provide you with delicious breakfast food left in your suite, so you can help yourself at a time that best suits you. The kitchenette allows you to make tea/coffee and there is also a sandwich maker, toaster, microwave and bar fridge. PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS NO OTHER COOKING ALLOWED - a deliberate choice with it being a studio apartment. We ask all our guests to please understand that other than basic food/amenities provided, you will be dining out or bringing prepared meals back home to heat in the microwave and enjoy. You will wake most mornings to the beautiful sounds of the native birds, the kookaburras start around 5am - their laugh is truly infectious. We have quite a flock of birds who think our place is their place, impatiently waiting each morning for their breakfast. We now have a beautiful juvenile lorikeet named Diane who crashed in to our window a few months ago - she is adorable and now part of our family. We've occasionally had 'Kenny' the Koala arrive up a tree, but it's not often. One minute drive you will find the Gumdale shopping centre showcasing different cafes/restaurants as well as the local pub which serves up great food. Each guest keeps adding to great eating experiences. The IGA supermarket has a great array of foods/snacks/fruits, and the Thirsty Camel will provide you with a great selection of beers/wines/spirits. We're a little bit country, yet so close to the internationally acclaimed SLEEMAN Sports' Complex which now includes the world -class Anna Meares Velodrome, BMX, gymnastics, diving and many other competitive sporting codes (3 mins drive); 5 mins drive to Belmont Rifle Range; Moreton Bay (10 mins drive); Manly/Wynnum (10 mins drive); 7 mins drive to Carindale shopping centre; 20 mins drive to Brisbane City centre; 20 mins drive to Brisbane airport; 1 min drive to local shops/cafes/restaurants. As we live in the main house you will always see us pottering. The property is on 2.5 acres with huge protected gum trees. You will see us enjoying, working and relaxing around the area most days (unless John's surfing). We will always respect your privacy, but if you feel like a chat over a cuppa/wine with us, we always enjoy swapping travel stories. Our home is beautiful bush retreat only 20-25 mins drive to Brisbane city. We live amongst other similar properties, so you can really enjoy that quiet country feel. Close to the world-class Sleeman Sports Complex and Belmont Rifle Range. I pride myself in being a Super Host and encourage any guests to please let me know if there is something they are not happy with. I always strive to provide a clean, welcoming environment for you, and will do my utmost to ensure you will come back in the future, or recommend Tadpoles' Retreat to fellow travellers. To date the mix of guests that have made Tadpoles' Retreat their home away from home has been truly amazing: 30% are attending either the internationally acclaimed Sleeman Sports Complex or one of the three shooting venues at Belmont. One of our sporting families had one of their 4 sons represent Australia at the Rio Paralympics! To date in one year they have stayed with us seven times. We indeed feel very special. 30% of guests are from countries far and wide. We always try and invite our guests for a dinner (time permitted). We are continually learning about others' cultures and totally enjoy our get togethers. The other 30% of our guests are people often flying/driving interstate for business and/or pleasure. Tadpoles' Retreat seems perfectly located from the airport with no negotiating through built up areas. We are also understanding guests appreciating the direct 4 minute drive to the Gateway Motorway taking them to the Sunshine Coast or Gold Coast on day trips. Instead of feeling the need to pack up and relocate to other accommodations north or south, they're just taking themselves on relaxed excursions knowing their luggage and personal possessions are safely locked away with us. Guest AccessGuests will have access to our large covered outdoor area, perfect for leisurely breakfasts, and the 15 metre long, legally well-fenced 1.5 metre deep pool. You're more than welcome to help yourself to the vege patch at your door. It's always filled with lots of salad veges and herbs. Interaction with GuestsThis is our home, and whilst our guest suite is separate and private, we do share the amenities with you. I will always be there to welcome you, and to assist you in any way that I can. We have no access to your suite whilst you have booked it. The NeighborhoodWe are a little bit country, but only 20 mins to the airport and the city. We have the best of both worlds. Having the Sleeman Sports Complex and Belmont Rifle Range nearby, allows competitors or visitors to stay within a three minute drive. Getting AroundYou definitely need your own car. Public transport is very limited - particularly in weekends. But once you're in your car, it's very quick and easy to navigate to most places from our home. Other Things to NoteClose to the Sleeman Sports Complex and Belmont Rifle Range.

Fresh or cooked seafood is a feature of the area. Cafes abound and help reinforce the village feel of the area. We are a five-minute walk from the bay, with the esplanade extending for about 6 kilometres offering very relaxing and picturesque walks, a mangrove boardwalk, playgrounds and cycling paths, in addition to the cafes and fish and chip shops all along the bayside.
