My spacious semi-detached home is super close to the train station (not so close you can hear every train), 2 minutes walk to fantastic affordable restaurants and bars (Marrickville has delicious food) and just 14 minutes on the train to Central station or 8 minutes on the bus to bustling Newtown. On street parking is free and plentiful. There are several living spaces, so plenty of room and smoking is allowed outside (uninterrupted city views from the front balcony). The SpaceOur apartment is one of three in our building. We have shared access to a HUGE grassy backyard filled with fruit trees and fresh herbs. We have one large bedroom that fills with light during the day and separate bathroom, living room and kitchen areas. The amount of space could comfortably sleep three people. Our kitchen comes fully equipped with everything you need to prepare delicious meals, including a gas stove and modern appliances. There is also a laundromat, large supermarket and liquor store located conveniently 100 metres from our front door. The NeighborhoodHaving long been the home of Sydney's vibrant Greek and Vietnamese populations, Marrickville is experiencing a rebirth with many young Sydneysiders moving to the area. This changing demographic has resulted in an explosion of bars, breweries and cafes opening close by to our home. With all this new buzz, the best part about Marrickville is that the neighbourhood hasn't lost its soul, meaning you can still find someone of Sydney's best cheap Asian and Middle-Eastern eats right on your doorstep. Should you wish to plan a night out, Marrickville's proximity to Newtown means you can enjoy Sydney's colourful nightlife with plenty of bars and pubs dotted along the famous King Street. Getting AroundIf you are driving to our house there is plenty of on-street parking, all of which is free and does not require any parking ticket costs. There are numerous public transport options available close by. Buses run regularly within 100 meters and there are two major train stations located within a 10 minute walk. When traveling to the beach one of these train lines goes directly to Bondi Junction giving you easy access to many of the cities famous beaches, including Bondi Beach. Other Things to NoteWe understand that the accommodation you stay in while on holiday is often a very important part of your overall experience and we will do everything we possibly can to make you feel at home while you explore our beautiful home-town.

The SpaceComfortable medium sized private room which features a huge wardrobe and a luxurious Sleepmaker queen bed with a Pillowtop mattress for ultimate back support & comfort for a great night's sleep. Guest AccessThe whole house is available to enjoy. Interaction with GuestsWe're always around to assist with planning your trip in and around Sydney and beyond! The NeighborhoodMarrickville is an ideal place to stay thanks to its excellent lifestyle amenities and amazing cultural diversity. There has been a recent increase in new cafes, wine bars and specialty stores that has given the area a hip, eclectic feel. Marrickville also boasts close proximity to the CBD and excellent transportation links to and from the city, meaning a trip into the hustle and bustle is never too difficult. There are plenty of parks and green space and walking the excellent pathways along the Cooks River makes you really how appreciate how wonderful this pocket of Sydney is. Getting AroundWe are a 6 minute walk from the train station. In under 20 minutes you will arrive in the middle of the city. Delicious restaurants and take-out just a 5 minute walk away. Other Things to NoteWe are a hard working couple that work in the field of events and often work at night, so we enjoy the house as an peaceful escape from our loud work environments. Absolutely no parties are allowed in this house but if you wish to have a few friends over for dinner, that is totally fine with us. This a lovely, artistically colourful (decorations include art prints by artists like Keith Haring) and tranquil place to escape from it all. We also have a very small statured but charismatic Boston Terrier called Mishka. She is ridiculously friendly and loves to love.

The SpaceWelcome to our Home! The best part about our place is the location, in the heart of Marrickville (known for its Hipsta cafe’s + pubs and friendly community) You will find a map in your room with all the walking distance places. Grab a craft beer and meal at the Henson, your morning coffee at Two Chaps or take a walk on Sunday to the awesome Addison Rd Markets. We’re stumbling distance to all three! Who We Are We are a family of 4: Jess runs a charity, Dex is a video games producer, along with Frances (10 years) and Edith (3 years) and Rosie the Loving Staffy (14 yrs and sleeps all day) Your Room We have a beautiful front room that is yours for the taking. It has a really comfy bed which will be freshly made, clean towels, coffee/tea making facilities and some extra goodies. Anything you need for your stay - don’t hesitate to ask. Privacy/Comfort to be ‘you’ As a massive Airbnb fan myself when I’m travelling, I know how important it is to have the space you need. I will ask you upon booking whether you would like to interact with us or if you’d prefer to just come and go so you don’t feel that awkward ‘wish they could read my mind’ factor Guest AccessPlease note! There is only one bathroom in the house to share. We will be as accommodating as we can in the mornings to allow you full use when you need it. We sleep upstairs (your room is downstairs at the front of the house). Your bedroom door opens to the family lounge room. You can lock it if you like. There are two entrances to the house, the first is right outside your bedroom door so you can avoid walking through the whole house if you prefer. You are welcome to hang out in our backyard, we have a fire pit and like to sit around in the evenings. Interaction with GuestsWe totally want you to be comfortable having a chat with us and using the kitchen or just hanging out in the lounge or completely keeping to yourself. The NeighborhoodEvery Sunday we have Sydney’s most popular organic market which is open early until mid afternoon. There’s Reverse Garbage - a fabulous spot for budding artists. There are pony rides, social enterprises, massive cuisine range to choose from and bearded dads with babies strapped to their chests. It’s a 7 min walk away. Getting AroundNewtown is a 10 mins bus ride away. The nearest train station is Sydenham and is a 13 min walk. It takes 15 mins to get to the city. The airport is 20 mins away ($20 taxi/UBER). Other Things to NotePlease note that Marrickville does get planes going overhead, and you may hear some between 10 - 11pm (but not after 11). Also as your room is at the front of the house, you may hear the odd drunken reveler late on a saturday night. We are new to airbnb hosting so please give us a go and give us your feedback! Book us now! Or reach out with your questions! We look forward to making your stay totally enjoyable

The SpaceThis is my own apartment and I do look after it, so you will find a clean and tidy space to welcome you. You will have private access to your bedroom and bathroom. You are free to use the kitchen (appreciate if only light cooking involved) and also dining / lounge area including the TV and wifi but be mindful and leave everything where and as clean as you find them, it will be very appreciated. The unit is very bright with lots of windows which is great during summer time but feel free to use the fan on very hot days as Sydney does get really hot and humid sometimes. No smoking No animals No extra guest No lighting of candles No cooking of heavy smelly food. Please place shoes in entrance is appreciated. Close all windows/doors when leaving the unit for day trips. Leave appartment as you entered it. This is a quiet home in a residential neighbourhood. My neighbours do call the police if someone decides to throw a party. I work full time but happy to interact whenever I am home. I will also always be contactable over phone or email. Guest AccessSingle bed and private bathroom. Extra guests will not be accommodated. Interaction with GuestsI work full time but happy to interact whenever I am home. I will always be contactable over phone or email. If you don't want to interect I will give you the space you need as well. The NeighborhoodMarrickville is a lovely neighborhood full of life and kind people, great cafes and a good local supermarket just 5 mins away (Banana Joes). It is only 5 mins to Newtown by bus and that is a great funky area with lots of cafes, restaurants and great night life and it is on the way to Sydney center. Marrickville is very much like a family area so you should feel really welcome here. Note we are 20 mins from the airport and activities start 06:30AM until 10:30PM. It can be very noisy area but if you are turisting during the day that should not be a problem. Getting AroundVery easy to go pretty much everywhere in Sydney. Buses and trains at the door all the time (including night buses after 1AM). In Marrickville you will find within walking distance (all less than 10 min walk) - public transport, supermarkets, banks, lots and lots of cafes, restaurants (we have amazing Vietnamese restaurants around), bars (great live music everyday, specially if you are a jazz fan), pubs, breweries, parks, public swimming pool, organic market, and the list goes on ... plus it is very close to the city center, Princes Highway and Parramatta Road. Other Things to NoteI am always available to reply any question you may have and I am usually quick to reply. Note in the total fee there's $150 security deposit - that is for the main key fob and if any damage occur during your stay. I believe Airbnb will not charge you unless there's a claim of missing keys or damage by guests (honestly not sure how it works but it is all in their system - I have never been charged as a guest and never had claim as a host). The building is going through high maintenance so lifts can get bit durty sometimes and activities are from 8am to 5pm but it does not get too noisy.

The SpaceThis is a great little flat. Freshly renovated and furnished in keeping with the age of the building - 1960s. It is very close to trains, buses, cafes, bars and restaurants - mostly Vietnamese. And when I say 'very close', I'm talking about 100 metres or so. The flat has a sunny balcony with a nice urban view. Guest AccessThe flat is all yours. It's a dedicated rental i.e. nobody is temporarily moving out so you can move in so you won't find drawers with people's undies in them and stuff like that. Interaction with GuestsI live a ten minute walk away. I'll meet you when you arrive and I'm sure we'll cross paths - I'm always available to help with stuff. The SpaceWe adore our little house in Marrickville. Renovated within the last two years, it has spacious rooms, and a bright, light-filled bathroom and combined kitchen/dining area. The dining table seats six and we also have two Tripp Trapp high chairs for use (we can provide the additional parts if you have a child who needs to use the restraints on a high chair). The beautiful bi-fold doors at the back open onto a cute and compact grassed yard, with a small trampoline for the kids. You're welcome to graze in the veggie garden for herbs (and keep an eye out for other herbs that are scattered throughout the garden!). The kitchen has a gas cooktop and electric oven, although we do not have a microwave. A toaster and kettle are also supplied. There is a dishwasher. We have a concealed laundry with small tub, dryer and washer. The bathroom has a shower over a deep bath. If you have a child who requires a cot, we can supply one but it is not currently set up (and therefore not in the pictures). Guest AccessThe whole house can be used. The NeighborhoodMarrickville is a diverse and vibrant neighbourhood which has changed remarkably in the 7 years we have lived in our house. You will never go wanting for caffeine and good cafes, with some of Sydney's best cafes (Cornersmith, Two Chaps, Illi Hill to name a few) within a short stroll. Delicious fresh Vietnamese restaurants and grocers abound, from a 'hole in the wall' Vietnamese sandwich shop turning out $5 pork banh mi to classier newer additions such as Eat Fuh and Hello Auntie (both of which have amazing vegetarian and vegan options). There a couple of small bars (Gasoline Pony, Titus Jones, Lazybones Lounge) for a trendy tipple, or several other larger pub-style establishments. Two gelato shops within walking distance. A medium sized supermarket (Banana Joe's) is 500m away or there are larger supermarkets (Woolworths) a short drive away. What we especially love about Marrickville is the walkability to all the aforementioned places, as well as free tennis courts nearby, an Olympic sized swimming pool a 15 minute walk away, local library, and easy access to many public transport options including regular city bound buses (or for even just popping up the road to trendy Newtown) and the train stations close by are Marrickville and Sydenham. Marrickville markets are every Sunday and are a 20 minute walk - delicious organic fruit and veg, food stalls and opportunities for people watching. There are SO many wonderful things to mention about living in Marrickville, I cannot list them all here - come and see for yourself! Getting AroundBus stop is three minutes walk away on Marrickville Road and has regular buses (423 or 426 to the city via Newtown, or 425 or 418 to Sydenham station). Closest train stations are Marrickville (700m, although with less frequent services) or Sydenham (1km but with three frequent services including an express to the city). Other Things to NotePlease note that as we are a semi-detached property (that is, there is another house on the other side of a common wall) we expect guests to be mindful and considerate of our neighbours and refrain from wearing loud shoes in the house. We know that kids can be boisterous (we have two!) but we would be grateful if you could encourage your kids if you have them to not run up and down the hallway as the noise can be quite loud. Parking is on-street and one side of our street has unrestricted parking.

The SpaceThe loft is an open plan living space up a flight of stairs. It has everything you need - queen bed, living and dining areas, wardrobe with lots of space, fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. There are lovely views of the river from the windows. It feels funky and secluded. There's usually someone round at home if you fancy company, but unless you feel like company we'll leave you to your own devices. Guest AccessYou have your own private access to the loft which sits on top of old sandstone stables behind the family home. You have full access to the garden, the herb garden, the clothes line. There are several outdoor dining areas - a small courtyard under the grapevine next to the loft, a large paved area on the other side of the loft, and the grassy back yard under the trees. Interaction with GuestsI'm generally around or available by phone to give local advice on things to do in the area and around Sydney. The NeighborhoodMarrickville is large, vibrant suburb in the inner west of Sydney, New South Wales. It's a multicultural area with established Australian, Greek and Vietnamese communities. There are many public transport options and it's about 20 minutes to the city by train, light rail, or bus and very close to Newtown, Sydney University, Royal Prince Alfred hospital, and the international and domestic airports. You'll find everything you need in Marrickville - banks, an array of reasonably priced Asian restaurants, coffee shops galore, live music venues, supermarkets, a local farmers market on the weekend, and smaller locally owned grocery stores. There is a new 50m swimming pool in the north of Marrickville and many parks. Getting AroundTrain (Bankstown line), bus (412 or 423), or light rail (Dulwich Hill stop) to the city and surrounding suburbs. The Sydney Trip Planner website is terrific and will give you the options for getting from anywhere, to anywhere. Search for 'Trip Planner NSW'. Other Things to NoteMost visitors say 'it doesn't feel like you're in the middle of Sydney'. It's quiet, there is a huge green belt right outside our door, yet the vibrant hub of Marrickville is a short walk away. There are cycle paths which go to the coast or to Homebush (former Olympic site), and walking paths which loop around the river with bridges at varying distances. Adora Chocolates is a pleasant 15-minute stroll away (diabolically delicious handmade chocolates and coffee), as well as many cafes, noodle and pho shops. The suburbs of Dulwich Hill and Newtown are also easily accessible.

The SpaceThis flat is super cosy, clean and tidy. The room has a big window that faces the balcony. Big built-in wardrobe with mirrors. The room has a queen size bed, a standing desk and a little fan for those warm summer days in Sydney. Guest AccessBed sheets and towels are provided, and you can use all the facilities: living room with TV, bathroom, full-equipped kitchen, washing machine and dryer. Interaction with GuestsI'm very open to help you with anything you need to move around the city. This will make your life easier and fun. The Inner-West suburbs are known for their vibrant cultural life, and Marrickville definitely one of them. If you're visiting and interested in the cultural activities the city and the area has to offer, I can give you lots of tips. The NeighborhoodYou’ll love my place because it’s cosy, bright, tidy and sunny. It's super well located and very close to all the wonders that Marrickville has to offer: Vietnamese restaurants, shops, ATMs, cool bars. Marrickville is known for its cultural underground vibe. On Sundays you can visit the Organic Foods Markets on Addison Road (20 min walking distance), and get all your fruit, veggies, nuts, bread and lots of delicious treats and beautiful coffee. Getting AroundWell located in a quiet street just two blocks away from the main road (Marrickville Road) and 10 min walk to Illawarra Road. Marrickville train station is 20 min walking, and bus stops are 5 min walking from the building. Marrickville is also 20 in away from Newtown by bus, and 10 min away by train. If you like the beach, there's a train station (Sydenham) that takes you to Bondi Junction (station where you take the bus to the beach). There are not train stations at the beach, so you'll have to take the bus either you stay in the inner west or any other inner city suburbs. If you drive to the beach, it will take you around 25min without traffic. It's not easy to find parking (and it's expensive) close to the beach, but you can always park a bit further and walk. If you have a car, there are plenty of parking spots on the street. If you're travelling and want to rent a car there's a "Car next door" just outside the building, and I have a spear bicycle if you want to ride around the area. Other Things to NoteIn mid January I won't be here so you will be sharing the space with my flatmate. I'm a phd student and I will be visiting my family for a month (15th Jan - 19th Feb). My flatmate is a full time professional, very sweet and considerate. We are both pretty chilled 34 years old girls looking for someone alike. We don't mind partying as long as it's not in the flat, as we like to keep it clean and tidy. I'm Chilean, and my flatmate is Portuguese-Australian. We normally speak English at home, but if you speak Spanish or Portuguese and you're tired of thinking in English all day, this is your place. Mind you, I won't be here all the time.
