Although our address is Camperdown, we are really in the heart of vibrant Newtown, with its great restaurants, pubs, bars and cafes, a local Dendy Cinema, and parks. We live a five minute walk from the acclaimed Blackstar Bakery, the Courthouse Hotel, the Continental (a hip local bar), and a ten minute walk to King Street itself which hosts brilliant bookstores, alternative clothing, record and gift shops, as well as grocery stores, chemists and newsagents for all your basic needs. Getting AroundIt doesn't get much easier to get around than if you stay in Newtown. We live a ten minute walk to King Street, where you can either get the train or bus to any destination in Sydney. We live in the heart of Sydney so the city and Circular Quay is only a short bus or train ride away (about 15 minutes). And, if you want to stay local, Broadway Shopping Centre is even closer by bus (about 8 minutes). Other Things to NoteNo other details that we can think of!

These terminate at Martin Place in the Central Business District - get off a few stops early to go to Town Hall or shopping at Pitt Street Mall. •Train – these depart every 15 minutes and go direct to Circular Quay, or you can get off at Central, Town Hall or Wynyard. GETTING HOME FROM THE CITY •Bus – catch the 438, 439 or 413 on Castlereagh Street. Get off near Cannon Street at the petrol station. You can also get on the L38 or L39 but you will need to jump off one stop earlier, as it’s a limited-stops express. •Train – you can catch a train direct to Stanmore from Circular Quay, Wynyard, Town Hall, Central, Redfern or Newtown stations. Other Things to NotePlease note: there is normally a white furry cat on the premises. Although he will not be here and we will take care to remove traces of cat fur, please reconsider staying if you are highly allergic. There is untimed street parking and I've never had an issue getting a spot right outside the house. The reviews on my profile are for my previous apartment.

The SpaceIt's in a period building in a street that is part of a local architectural history walk. Lovely balcony with lots of trees and birds outside. Polished floorboards, original fireplace. Very quiet street and neighbours. Private entrance. Guest AccessLarge TV, Wii console with games, surround sound, Netflix, DVD player. Washing machine and airer to hang clothes on the balcony. All cooking equipment, even some fancy bits like a tagine, popcorn maker and pestle & mortar Interaction with GuestsI will be available via phone or email throughout your stay. Where possible I will meet guests when they arrive to answer any questions they may have and say hello :) The NeighborhoodMy flat is in a very quiet street but it's so close to the city and the hustle and bustle of Newtown (one of if not the most interesting areas in all of Australia!). There's so many bars and restaurants in Newtown to choose from you could spend weeks walking up and down trying a new thing everyday and then retreat to the quiet haven of the flat in Stanmore :) Getting Around8 mins walk to Stanmore train station and 8 mins to the main bus route on Parramatta Road to the city, beaches etc. There is also a lesser used bus stop just 2 mins walk away. Other Things to NoteThe washing machine is a bit fiddly to use but i'l leave clear instructions on how to use it. This is a period building so it doesn't have the clinical sparkle of a modern flat but has all the charm of a historic building with full length wooden doors onto the beautiful balcony. The oven is suitably archaic too! Stanmore is under the flight path so there is aeroplane noise when the path is directed this way but it's not always the case and its never bothered me and there are no planes in the middle of the night.

The SpaceThis room is like a hotel suite, but without the expense. You have your own private bathroom and your kitchenette includes a fridge, microwave, ceramic electric frying pan/food cooker, a toaster, a large sandwich toaster, a kettle and a coffee plunger. Also like a hotel suite, there is no kitchen sink. Tea and coffee are provided as well as fruit, cornflakes, muesli and various spreads. I am happy to provide a little extra food on request, although King St shops and restaurants are 10 minutes away and have everything you could need. You have access to movies on Netflix and we have added a bluetooth speaker so you can listen to your own music. Guest AccessGuests have a separate entrance to their private living/bedroom, bathroom and kitchenette and your space is separated from the rest of the house by a partition in the hallway. Interaction with GuestsThis is advertised as a private space within a house. There is a room divider in the hallway to define our guests' separate area, so interaction is only by your request. The NeighborhoodNewtown is an interesting and vibrant place with great shops, restaurants, bars and pubs and a lovely community spirit. Getting AroundNewtown Station is 10 minutes walk and there are buses to the city a few minutes walk away on Salisbury Rd. We are in walking distance to RPA Hospital and Sydney University. There is a 2-hour limit on street parking on one side of the road, with unlimited parking on the other. Other Things to NotePlease note, there is no kitchen sink in your suite. I am happy to put your dishes in my dishwasher, or if you prefer, I provide a washing up bowl that you can fill from the shower head and empty into the toilet. The bathroom sink is too small for washing dishes and if any glass or crockery was dropped in it, it would be expensive for your to replace. We are a family with two children, 12 and 9 years. We are friendly and welcoming and will consider any requests to make our guests' stay as comfortable as possible. We will make an effort to keep noise to a minimum during your stay and we ask that you do the same for us.

You will have access to the bedroom and shared areas i.e., living area, kitchen and bathroom. There is also a small out house at the back of the property that a couple in their early 30's and their little puggle (pug x beagle) dog live. They have their own access to the property so you may not cross paths with them much. You are welcome to enjoy the large sunny backyard that we share with them though.

They will also be available at anytime during your stay should you need anything. The NeighborhoodWith a selection of cult eateries and bars, Enmore Road is gaining serious food credibility, abuzz with diverse, delicious cafes, bars and restaurants. In fact most things you desire can be found in this neighbourhood. If its not food or live music you are after there are parks, food markets, art galleries, pools, gyms and yoga centres all within walking distance. I often jump into my car and head to the beach on a Saturday morning to start my weekend. It takes me just under 30 mins to Coogee or Bondi at 8am. If that is too early for you allow a little more travel time as the day progresses. There are plenty of buses along King Street that also go to the beaches. If you want a cool refreshing craft beer on your return, head to some of Sydney's best breweries all within walking distance - Young Henrys, Grifters, Wayward. For great food try the super crunchy southern fried chicken at Hartsyard, or the Turkish inspired stuffed mussels at Stanbuli or the smoked beef brisket or chopped pork and ribs at Bovine & Swine - all located on Enmore Road. Getting AroundYou are a 10 minute walk to the main street of Newtown (King Street) or Enmore Road. There are two train stations to choose from - either Newtown or Stanmore station, both 10 mins away. There are bus stops up and down King Street and Enmore Rd. From Newtown Station you are three stops to Central Station. Cab rides into the city are usually about $20 - $30 and the cab ride from Sydney airport is about $30 and takes about 20-30 minutes depending on the time of day. Other Things to NotePlease note, my apartment is located on Trafalgar Street which runs parallel to the inner west commuter train line. I have double glaze windows in the bedrooms and am rarely bothered by the noise - sometimes I notice, most of the time I don't. I have lived here since 2011, this is my home, my sanctuary and I love living here. Please treat my home with the same respect you treat your own home.

Glebe is also really close with a big shopping centre, Saturday markets and loads of cafes. In 15 minutes walking you can be in the hustle and bustle of King St Newtown. The SpaceEnmore Road is is lined with restaurants and bars, with single apartments sitting above them. Our apartment is one of these. Sit in the lounge room by the open window to watch passers by on the street below and hear the muffles of dinner parties nearby. This is a great base to explore the inner west's personality, being so close to Newtown and Erskinville. (But we think Enmore is better than the rest!) As it's a beautiful old building, the paint on the walls is peeling off in some spots, and it's a tad shabby chic in spots, but we tend to think it adds character. This is a space you'll instantly feel comfortable in, yet never feel like you're too far away from the action. Guest AccessThis is commercial area so you'll have to enter from the garage out back. Interaction with GuestsWe love the inner west and would be happy to give you our personal tips on which bars to check out, pubs to avoid, hidden breweries and favourite picnic spots. We're also bike fans and would be happy to share our bikes with you so you can cycle round the area. The NeighborhoodEnmore Road is flourishing with new eateries at the moment. Everything from sake bars to suave, redesigned pubs have popped up in its colonial architecture. We're not far from Newtown's favourite park which comes alive from mid morning with picnics, and stays abuzz long after the sun has set. Getting AroundWe're seven minutes walk (if that) from Newtown Station, there's a bus stop just out front, and we have bikes you can take for a spin too. Other Things to NoteWe live amidst restaurants so if you're staying in the apartment during dinner time, you're likely to hear the muffle of dinner parties or 'happy birthday' being sung from a few doors across. We love this though - it adds to the life of the area, and we hope it wouldn't be seen as annoying. The restaurants are usually wrapping up by around 11. We rent only the apartment - the backyard is not ours, please treat it only as a thoroughfare.

The NeighborhoodThe surrounding suburbs of Newtown, Stanmore, Enmore and Petersham have some of Sydney's best pubs, restaurants and entertainment. It is a buzzy, interesting area with lots of beautiful old houses, parks and facilities. Best local places to visit: Enmore Theatre, Cow & Moon Gelato, Shinmachi Japanese, Emma's Lebanese, Petersham for Portuguese tarts, Hartsyard, Stanbuli, Sixpenny, Macelleria, Sultan's Table Turkish, Dendy Newtown cinema, Enmore swimming pool and Frangos Portugese chicken Getting AroundThe apartment is right on the train line with Newtown and Stanmore stations 10 minutes walk in each direction. Plenty of buses are available 5 minutes away on Enmore Road. The airport is a short drive and easy taxi ride, usually no more than $30. You will be staying in my room while i am overseas at a mates wedding. The bedroom itself has a queen bed, built-in wardrobe and balcony access. There's an open plan kitchen and living area, bathroom and toilet that will be shared with my house mate Ben, a very lovely and welcoming Sydney born travel expert who just came back from an 8 month Europe trip (on a motorbike). Guest AccessYou will have access to all common areas of the apartment. The kitchen is fully equipped with brand new oven, dishwasher, coffee machine, blender, kettle, fridge etc.. Feel free to use the spa bath, BBQ, washing machine and dryer. Interaction with GuestsAs I will be overseas, you will be sharing with our lovely housemate Ben. It will be very chilled and relaxed as he is working full time. We are good friends more than we are housemates and love to share a bite to eat or glass of wine together. We love the inner west and always happy to recommend things for you to do and see, and help with whatever you may need! The NeighborhoodWe love living in the inner west! The neighbourhood is great. You will find the best of both worlds - the buzz of food/music/art with walking distance to Newtown, Enmore and Leichhardt and on the other hand the relaxed pace of suburb living. Stanmore is very outdoorsy with a heap of quiet green spots. We have a park just down the road from us and the famous Blackwattle Bay is about 35-40 min walk. Getting AroundWe are in a prime location, it is incredibly easy to get into the city center either by train (2 min walk to Stanmore Station) or by bus (50m walk to bus stop). If you wish to take a taxi or uber, it's approximately $15-$20 to the city and around $25-$30 to the airport. If you have your own car, we have plenty of street parking available. Other Things to NoteWe are so lucky to have an amazing cafe downstairs, the boys are incredibly amazing coffee roasters :) We also have a doctor, bottle shop, supermarket, pharmacy and plenty of restaurants within walking distance from the apartment. The close proximity to the airport is great as travel to and from the airport won't take you long, however you will hear the planes every so often as Stanmore is on the flight path. I recommend to download the flight tracker app so you get more info re type of plane or route if you would like :)
