The SpaceOur lovely bright studio is located on Broadway Market, right in the heart of the most vibrant, creative and fun part of town…..think Williamsburg in Brooklyn, NY. An ideal base for a holiday or to work, the studio is 355 sq.ft. and comes with fast wireless internet and Freeview HD TV with easy to use PVR recorder. The expansive main window makes the space lovely and bright, but is fitted with custom built blinds to provide the perfect shade and seclusion when required. The kitchen and bathroom face to the front and are both separated from the main living space, each having their own skylights to pull in natural light and fresh air, but are set back from the parapet providing privacy from the hustle and bustle of Broadway Market. We don’t live there, so all of the storage is available, including fitted wardrobes and under-bed (URL HIDDEN) none of the clutter of living out of suitcases. The bed is a Muji double and there is a 2-seater Futon Sofa-bed providing soft seating and additional sleeping to easily accommodate a four person family. We have just bought the studio so all of the furniture and bedding are brand new and not the ones you see in the photographs (which we will update imminently). The bathroom is small, clean and functional, and there is a washing machine and the usual amenities in the kitchen. We are a small family with two teenaged kids, my wife is a nutritionist and I work in music. We live close by, in Camden Town and know London very well, so if we are here during your stay we’re always available for any help or guidance you need, but won’t be under your feet. Broadway Market is wonderfully hectic on Saturdays and sociably bustling through the rest of the week, littered with coffee shops, bars and vintage boutiques. We’re literally yards from the beautiful Regents Canal (a brilliantly scenic way to explore London) and just a few more yards in the opposite direction from London Fields (the mini-central park of Hackney). London Fields has a public Lido (largest heated outdoor swimming pool in London), table tennis and is bursting with the usual parklife, while Haggerston Park offers more green space, sports facilities and a City Farm which is open to the public. Just beyond that is Columbia Road Market, an East End flower market with a long tradition, including authentic bawling Cockney market traders. But now augmented with modern art, vintage clothes, antiques and all manner of interesting and creative nik-naks and eats. Then you’re in Shoreditch, the creative centre of Hipster London and more nightlife than you can imagine. Brick Lane, The City of London (historic financial district) and the river Thames are all reachable on foot or by public cycles if you’re brave and in a hurry. We’re a 5-10 minute walk from London Fields Overground train (convenient and scenic) and 5 minutes more to Bethnal Green Underground train (less scenic but easy for everywhere). Loads of buses in the area and the Regents Canal path is one of the best walks/cycle rides in London, heading towards the Olympic village in the East and through Camden Town into Regents Park in the North. For guests with cars I can provide parking permit vouchers at cost. Interaction with GuestsWe are a small family with two teenaged kids, my wife is a nutritionist and I work in music. The SpaceWell...the flat is 2nd floor overlooking the canal. It's a 5 minute walk to Victoria Park along the canal, or if you go the other way it's a 5 minute walk to all the cool cafes and restaurants of Broadway Market. It's a very up and coming (URL HIDDEN) I'm really lucky to live here! Broadway Market has a market every Saturday, selling food and vintage clothes. Around the corner from there is a new york style block market which is open every weekend also. Broadway Market has some really nice pubs too. It's an 8 minute walk to London Fields which has an outdoor swimming pool (even in winter!). It's an 8 minute walk to Bethnal Green tube station (located on the Central Line) and just outside the block; there's a bus stop taking you to central London, London Bridge, the City, or up towards Finsbury Park and Hackney Central Overland Station. The area is very up and coming; with loads of musicians and artists residing in the area, with Vyner St and it's art galleries right across the canal (views from the flat are of the warehouses opposite, and of the canal...). They have montly opening nights with free booze for the early birds! As for me... I'm a really relaxed laid back person..not really in much. If I am...I'll be in my room (website hidden)ing my boyfriend who lives in the (email hidden) you'll pretty much have the flat to yourself anyway! Please ask away if you have any questions etc..I'd be pleased to help. Q. Guest AccessPlease feel free to feel at home. I'm living here also, but I'm out at work during the day, and out quite a lot after also. There's a cupboard for guests to use to put any food they may wish to buy from the supermarket which is convienantly across the road, and there's an allocated space in the fridge also. Of course guests can use the kitchen, bathroom etc etc! Interaction with GuestsI lead quite a busy life, so I won't be around much. If I'm home, I'll be working but I am friendly and open to help out if there's any questions etc. If I'm around at the weekend I'd be very happy to show guests where the good coffee shops are :) The NeighborhoodHackney is very up and coming..buzzing with musicians, artist types...and there's so much going on I hardly need to go into central London for anything! (Apart from work!) I'm very lucky to live here..and to be honest it's a very desirable area to live in. I'm extra lucky because the flat overlooks the canal..and is on the canal tow path which goes to the Olympic Park and to Canary Wharf and the Thames. Victoria Park and the village is just 5 minutes along the canal tow path also. I know I'm biased..but I've lived in London over 20 years and I don't want to ever leave here! Getting AroundThere's a bus stop right outside the block of flats. These buses run every 5 -10 minutes to: London Bridge, Central London (Oxford Circus), the City of London, Liverpool Street, Whitechapel. Across the road buses go to Finsbury Park, Hackney Central etc etc. The nearest tube station is Bethnal Green Tube. It takes 8-10 minutes to walk to it. The nearest overland train station is Hackney Central, which takes you to Stratford or towards Camden Road and this is a 20 minute walk or 10 minute bus ride away. Other Things to Noteermmm...soo many cafes around here. If you like coffee...(or cafes full stop)..you're in for a treat :) Lots of vintage shops and markets around here too.

There is always something (and someone) interesting to look at as you visit the markets nearby (including Columbia Road Flower Market, Brick Lane and Spitalfields - all within walking distance). The SpaceCharming Private room in 1820s Georgian House in Bethnal Green, Hackney. Beautiful cosy double room in the fashionable district of Broadway Market, London Fields. Fantastic transport links, fashionable area, quirky antique filled house with open fire, a courtyard garden, sharing a large kitchen & bathroom. All mod cons. Wi fi, TV, & radio. Share with owner. There is a Barclays Bicycle station opposite house as well as Streetcar Hire vehicle. The house is in a superb sought after location between Broadway Farmers Market (2 mins) & Colombia Rd historic flower market (6 mins). Within walking distance from Victoria Park, London Fields, shopping & club scene at Shoreditch and the trendy bar & cafe culture at Broadway Market and London Fields. Good transport links via bus to Liverpool St 15 mins & direct trains from Stansted Airport, the West End, London Bridge for Gatwick Airport trains, Waterloo for the Eurostar and Bethnal Green Tube Station at 5 mins walk. Bethnal Green Station is on the Central Line, which gives you direct and convenient access to some of London's main sights and stations, including Liverpool Street Station, Oxford Circus, Marble Arch and Notting Hill. Guest AccessGuests are welcome to use the kitchen, garden and bathroom of course! We keep a separate fridge dedicated to guests so if they wish to keep food or cook there are welcome. The living room is cosy and we do sometimes watch TV, but more often I am working or on the computer so its available for guests if they wish. Interaction with GuestsAs a freelancer I am in and out the house all day and happy to share time and conversation with the guests when we catch each other. However, we don't jump on you for a chat every time you walk in the door. Its really up to you what level of interaction you feel comfortable with. We are pretty easy going. Some guests are out all the time working, touristing or with friends and others we have shared food, wine and song into the wee hours! The NeighborhoodWhat I love most about the neighbourhood is the diversity in terms of people, culture, landscape and food. Its safe and there is plenty of green space, the beautiful canal for running and stunning historic victorian and georgian housing that gives London its distinctive charm. Its a very creative area that is constantly evolving. We have an excellent selections of restaurants within walking distance, with local organic markets and food stores. There's interesting bars, markets, clubs, gyms, galleries on the door step or just step inside the cottage and be transported to a quiet tranquil haven away from it all. Getting AroundThe house is extremely well located and you everything you could need and more within walking distance. There are buses opposite the house which go east, west and south, and two tube lines within walking distance. Not to mention the overland services or the central services from neighbouring Liverpool St. Property is at premium here for these reasons. Be careful if you use the boris bikes, its a busy city with a lot of heavy traffic so be confident or treat yourself to a black cab. They are the pride of London after all and its worth the experience of chatting with a cabbie. Other Things to NoteWe are in central London with all amenities on your doorstep so you can also expect to hear the occasional drunken group of revellers passing by at 4am on a Friday night or the noise of the city waking up, grabbing breakfast from the cafe next door and builders chatting over a bacon sandwich. Its all part of the London flavour. Generally people are really friendly and will quieten down if they are made aware - nicely - that they have disturbed you.

The SpaceWonderful bright warm little flat, great location. Do check the photos carefully and note - 1 some slightly 'dated' decor! The NeighborhoodIf you like artisan food and boho living, do try out this flat! This is a recently gentrified area. The following must not be missed whilst visiting! 300 metres away, the lido! do pack your swimming trunks/costume! I love cheap but delcious meals out, try Little Georgia on Goldsmiths row.
