On the scene Shoreditch is where the City gives way to the concept haircut. Suits are out, skinnies are in and the clubkids throw shapes as angular as the industrial skyline. For bachelors today, there’s no better place to party. And post-party weary, there’ no better placed pad than Union Wharf III. A warehouse conversion by the canal, the windows are floor-to-ceiling and the ceiling is about as high as they come. London stretches out beneath, and from balcony, bedroom and sofa alike, you’ll see its lights sizzling. Halfway between Hoxton and Angel, expect all the glamour and grunge you could hope for... Shutterbug style Your host is a photographer, and his snaps pop up all around this handsome home. He loves cycling, travelling, and anything Brazilian. All the right moves Flamboyant and fashionable Shoreditch may be, but your home is soothingly quiet. With a canal one side and a little park on the other, grabbing disco naps won’t be a problem. Start in the sitting room, big, brilliantly bright and understatedly stylish. Here you can crash on the Chesterfield sofa or step onto the balcony and see the rooftops ranged below. A projector lets you watch films at awesome size, perhaps with a drink dished up by the sleek kitchen, while the classy dining table seats six. Skip up the metallic stairs to find the mezzanine level and bedroom. The view out of those massive windows is just as great up here, so why not bid goodnight to the twinkly city skyline as you nestle into its king bed. You’ve a modern ensuite, with turquoise accents and white tiles, as well as an equally elegant bathroom tricked out with some tremendous prints from your host. Young, free and Shoreditch Hop over to Hoxton’s happening bars and clubs, or mosey around the modern art at the White Cube gallery. You’ve the cafes and cinemas along Islington’s Upper Street, as well as Clerkenwell’s fine restaurants, among them Moro and St John. Slip on a suit and stroll into the City, or find the latest fashions in the West End. The tube from Angel to Oxford Circus takes just over ten minutes. Dream come true You’ve had a crack at being a grown up. You’ve shouldered responsibility and pulled some very serious faces. Well, now’s the time to have a bit of fun – and we’ve got just the place. Union Wharf II is split-level, spacious and pretty darn cool. Close to a private stretch of canal, you’ve views as far as the Olympic Park from your lofty vantage. The furniture is contemporary and exotic, and outside you’ll be hanging with some of the most fashionable kids in the capital – if it’s hot, if it’s in – it’s here. Check out the White Cube Gallery, then go for drinks in Hoxton Square. And remember, it’s never too late to misbehave. Second youth Your hosts left a life in suburbia when their two sons flew the nest. Now, they’re back on the London scene, and getting up to all sorts of mischief. They both work in Arts and Higher Education – much of their time is spent travelling, and their home is filled with souvenirs from all around the globe. Life begins… What will you notice first? Will it be the floor-to-ceiling windows, with that dramatic skyline view? The double height ceiling and funky mezzanine? Or will you be captivated by your hosts’ interiors, an intoxicating mix of the homely and the hip? You’ll love that massive sofa, the chunky dining table and the open plan kitchen. Wend your way past a veritable library of art books and you’ll find a mirrored bathroom with a cleverly concealed bath, then emerge and head upstairs. Here you’ll discover the master bedroom, with its king-sized bed, and cottage-style furniture. You’ve views down onto the main living area, and if you’re in the mood for a little privacy, opaque doors seal you away from the rest of the world. There’s a sparkling ensuite with a powerful shower, and a study that can be converted into a further double bedroom with just a flip of the sofa. Come and get it For Shoreditch is just the place to strut your stuff. Nearby Hoxton’s bars and clubs are some of the most desirable on the planet, and the eclectic shops and creative buzz of Brick Lane are a stroll away. Walk to Islington for shops and restaurants, or pick up a Boris bike from the end of the road and pedal into the City. Those who prefer to take the tube will find that the journey from Old Street to Oxford Circus takes around twelve minutes. Fancy that Back in 1850, Nile Street was a costume factory, decking its eager Victorian customers in garb that was as delightful as it was extraordinary. And something of that playful spirit remains in this home’s extravagant, open-plan living space, where contemporary furniture mingles with a cowhide rug, luscious art, original floorboards and exposed brickwork. And downstairs, Shoreditch swings to the tune of some of the city’s most outré residents. Indulge beside the rooftop pool of Shoreditch House, sip a cocktail on Hoxton Square or visit any number of delicious eateries just beyond your front door. Having a ball Drape yourself in a colour palette of creams, browns and whites – from the storied floorboards to the well-appointed wooden furnishings. Industrial pieces in chrome and gloss mix with art deco curves, and the kitchen’s slick finish has been similarly softened with green leaves and a gilded mirror. There’s two of everything, even the dishwasher – and indeed, with a pair of bunk beds in the children’s room, no one need fight for pole position. The SpaceWelcome to Flat 4, 20A Hanbury Street, Spitalfield. The open space penthouse apartment (52m2) with a long terrace (12m2) takes up the entire 4th floor of an ex-artisan building. The space is very bright with wonderful views across old and new London. One side is made up entirely of floor to ceiling sliding glass doors. There is a designer kitchenette (which doesn't look like a kitchen at all) and a fridge on the 4th floor for your exclusive use. If you need an oven and more space to cook you can use the fully equipped kitchen on the 3rd floor at anytime. Please note that there are a few designers working out of the 3rd floor space between 9:30am and 6pm Mon-Fri. Needless to say they are very very nice people. There is wireless internet access as well of course. Just to be clear: the 3rd and 4th floor are not connected (other than through a communal staircase) so you have total privacy upstairs. An extra WC provides a washing machine on the half way landing. There is secure parking within the old Truman brewery building, directly opposite. The apartment is located in London's most trendy area, in the heart of Spitalfield, which was established by the Huguenots in 1685. Everything is at your doorstep, from elegant shops to vintage places, galleries and restaurants. London's oldest market, Spitalfields is now a seven-days-a-week destination and less then 100m away. Resplendent under a Fosters & Partners-designed glass canopy, the market and shops offer cutting edge fashion and interiors, original artworks as well as food. Spitalfields market is surrounded by independent shops, cafes, bars and awarding winning restaurants like Canteen, Galvin La Chapell, St. Johns and The Wright Brothers. On Hanbury Street you will find London’s best fish and ship shop as well as Nude, which allegedly serves the best coffee in town. Hoxton with its galleries, bars and restaurants is in walking distance as well as Whitechapel gallery and famous Brick Lane just a stone throw away with its countless Indian and Bangladeshi restaurants. There is a market on Brick Lane, one within the old Truman brewery and last but not least Columbia Flower market, which is a casual 15 minutes stroll away. This really is market heaven on Sundays. In case you want to explore the rest of London (trust me, you will be forgiven if you don’t bother) – access to public transport is just a 7m walk away – Liverpool Street with its direct connection to Stansted Airport, Algate East Stn and busses to London Bridge, St. Pauls Cathedral and Tate Modern – offering direct links to the West End, Soho and beyond. It is no wonder that world famous fashion designers, artists and creative agencies have made this place their home. It really is a special place. You will see. Ah yes, strictly no parties. I am sure you understand. Best wishes. Other Things to NoteStrictly no parties.

The apartment is composed by two bedrooms (each with his own bathroom, so you will have your own bathroom), both with access to the private garden (it is divided by big green plants for more intimacy), a lounge area and a fully equipped kitchen. We (me and my husband) live in one bedroom and we rent out the second bedroom. We can accommodate a third and fourth guest on a sofa bed in the living room, so groups of three/four persons are welcomed! Some of the touristic attractions (like Spitalfields Market, Bricklane, Tower of London, London Bridge are within a walking distance) Within the radius of 300 meters from the apartment you will find: - supermarkets, shops and also night shops (open 24/24) - tons of restaurants, bars and coffee shops - diverse markets (with souvenirs, clothes and all kind of stuffs) You can find parking place in the area, but unfortunately you will have to pay by hour. The bedroom we are offering has double bed and a big build-in wardrobe. It is small but in the same time huge for London, clean and warm. You have a double door to exit to the garden. When you stay in the garden, you won't believe that you are in the heart of London! The heating is individual, so you can have your room as warm/cold you want it. Although an office would fit in the room, we prefer to let the room have an airy look and invite you to use the big table in the living room. This table is for 6 persons. The kitchen is very well equipped with all the necessary appliances. You will have a lot of space in the fridge and freezer. Everything is very clean and well arranged. We will share the kitchen and the lounge area. Interaction with GuestsWe will interact how much you would like.
