The SpaceWe live in the heart of Kentish Town (Camden) in a very large Victorian house in a terraced street within a conservation area, in the centre of London Town! The house has recently undergone major refurbishment, so everything is fresh and new, including the kitchen and bathrooms. I am a sculptor and my husband a retired antiquities collector, so our home is rather unusual with a blend of modern and bohemian influences. The room on offer is a massive light filled attic room, full height at about 30sq m. It overlooks both the garden at the back as well as the front of the house. There is a juliet balcony to the back windows that open right up with views to the right of central London. The bedroom has an en suite shower room with a powerful shower and lashings of hot water day and night. There is a new king sized bed, mattress topper and fresh bed linen and towels, TV and wifi are also included. Please be aware that this is an Attic room and may not be suitable for those who struggle with stairs! Your privacy is guaranteed at all times. You are welcome to use the kitchen for unlimited tea and coffee, I do not supply breakfast but there are handfuls of family run cafes on the main road round the corner. There are also an array of world food restaurants that I can recommend only minutes away. We have a delightful conservatory which is warm and bright and leads out to a pretty little garden. Washing machine and dryer are available for your use too. I have lots of information and maps on London and its many sights and am able to give you insights to what's happening during your stay. We are so wonderfully located for all the many attractions - it does make sightseeing so much more pleasant! The neighbourhood: Kentish Town is culturally diverse, family orientated, with a safe and community spirited environment. There are lovely pubs and cafes serving good quality food. Kentish Town road has just about anything you need, from 4 supermarkets, organic fish/meat shop, natural food shop, pharmacy, library, stationer, Kentish Town tube station and main line station (overground), patisserie, post office, ATM's, 5 banks, fruit, vegetable and flower stalls, cafes, restaurants and tattooist! We have a beautifully renovated Victorian swimming baths and state of the art Gym up the road. We also have the world famous Forum which is a large music venue that has hosted Van Morsisson, Rihanna, and Coldplay. There are multiple transport links, buses and trains all the time that head towards all the sightseeing, museums and shops and galleries. Within 10 minute walk: We have 790 acres of rolling hills of London's ancient park, Hampstead Heath virtually moments away; there are endless activities like the mens' and womens' bathing ponds, the Lido (outdoor swimming pool), athletics track, ancient woodland walks, picnics and outdoor music concerts by the stately home, Kenwood House. The view of London from Kite Hill is just superb, most attractions can be spotted on a clear day. In the other direction is the colourful and very vibrant and busy street market, Camden Market - with thousands of people thronging the narrow stalls and pleasant canals, which on a long boat can take you up to Regent's Park (open - air theatre), London Zoo and the delights of Primrose Hill. Travel: The best method is underground or bus with an Oyster card, not only will this save you time but it will work out more economical. They can be purchased at any underground sation and many newsagents. Our nearest underground station (5 min) is Kentish Town, which also has a main line (overground ) station with direct links to both Luton airport and St Pancras International and Eurostar. Airport transfer: Heathrow - take the underground to Kentish Town or take the Heathrow express to Paddington, then the underground. Gatwick - Take the express to St. Pancras or Victoria, then the underground. Stansted - Take the train to Liverpool street, then the underground. City - Take the underground. If you have a late flight I would advise a taxi as travelling in the early hours by public transport is unreliable and I would have to regretfully decline a booking were this the case. Heathrow pre-booked taxi £35 Gatwick pre-booked taxi £55 Stansted pre-booked taxi £49

YOU Are The Most Important Thing: I place Your satisfaction and comfort above anything else. I have been a host from the very beginning of Airbnb in London and more than 3,000 people have stayed at my places over the past 4 years. The NeighborhoodIf you have been to London before, you will definitely know Camden Town. If you haven't, chances are that the coolest trends 'made in London' that you have seen in your country over the past decades, were born in this part of London. For those in search of a more suburban accommodation choice, the answer lies in the Camden serviced apartments. The Camden apartments are located close to one of London’s most recognisable and unique areas from which they take their name: Camden. The neighbourhood of Camden is full of unusual shopping and people and is rarely not alive with a vibrant hum of excitement. The Camden apartments themselves are slightly removed from this bustle and offer guests a peaceful accommodation option that gives them a taste of laidback London whilst still being near to one of the city’s liveliest areas – with such a combination, you simply cannot go wrong. The Camden serviced apartments are all contemporary studios with immaculate furnishings and décor that assist the already polished apartments in appearing brand new – when entering the apartment, guests will feel as though they have stepped in to a real estate commercial. The Camden apartments also offer superb views across London, with a number of the apartments including a private outdoor deck from which guests enjoy an unobstructed, picturesque cityscape vista. The complex also houses a communal garden complete with seating and a shared roof terrace. With large windows that invite a flood of natural light, a focus on comfort, style and functionality as well as a fully-fitted kitchen, there is nowhere better than the Camden serviced apartments for someone looking for a private refuge away from the high-rise buildings. Area Information: The most noteworthy neighbourhood within the vicinity of these serviced apartments is Camden Town – a popular area of the city beloved by both locals and visitors alike. This district is truly unique and unlike any other area of London – alternative stores selling everything from clothing to jewelry to second-hand books to antique collectibles populate the sidewalk as well as the labyrinth of gritty cobble-stoned passages that form the well-known markets, open every day. Camden Town is a fantastic place for sampling a range of cuisine, with market stalls selling foods from all over the world at bargain prices – if you make the Camden serviced apartments your choice, you are sure to spend many lunchtimes here puzzling over what to eat. Though Camden Town offers a great deal to amuse and entertain, guests will surely wish to explore other areas of London and for when that time comes, public transport connections are excellent. The serviced apartments are close to the Underground stations of Caledonian Road and Holloway Road, both of which operate on the Piccadilly line. The Piccadilly line is incidentally one of London’s deepest Tube routes, stopping at major stations such as the quaint shopping area of Covent Garden, the busy nightlife destination of Piccadilly Circus and the major train station of King’s Cross St Pancras. From King’s Cross St Pancras – just one stop along the Piccadilly line – travellers can change to any number of lines including the Hammersmith & City, Metropolitan, Circle, Northern and Victoria.

We can always arrange for you to drop off luggage in the morning and check in in the afternoon. The apartment is in a professional and family area, so whilst you may hear the occasional noises of families busy living London lives, you shouldn't be kept awake by parties and kindly ask you respect this too.

Interaction with GuestsWe will always be available on the phone if you need us. The NeighborhoodKentish Town is a wonderful, interesting part of London whose history is steeped in music (with it's renowned Forum music venue) and piano-making. It now benefits from a huge number of independent shops and enterprises making it a great place to wander around and explore. To the south lies Camden with it's huge market and shops, whereas a 5 minute bus ride (or 20 minute walk) takes you to Hampstead Heath with its extensive woodland, bathing ponds, and lido. Getting AroundThere are excellent public transport options. 7 minutes walk away is Kentish Town Underground (Northern Line) and Overground (providing access to Luton in the north down to Kings Cross, Farringdon, City Thameslink, Gatwick Airport and Brighton). Or you can walk 15 minutes to Kentish Town West which provides the east-west options such as Shepherd's Bush Westfield Centre, Highbury & Islington, Stratford Westfield Centre and so on. Other Things to NoteAs with any Victorian ground floor maisonette that's also a home for young children you will encounter a bit of wear, tear and the odd damp patch.

The SpaceWelcome to my cozy 1 bedroom ground floor flat. This is first and foremost my home but as I travel a great deal with my work I would love to rent it to likeminded travellers. My flat is in a great central location; just 4 mins from Camden Road Overground which gets you to Kew Gardens, Islington and Hackney, 6 mins from Camden Town tube which is on the northern line, a 17min walk to St Pancaras Eurostar terminal and there's a plethora of bus and nightbuses which will take you anywhere and everywhere across London. I travel about London by bike and there's even a Borris bike rental station 4min away. There are many good restaurants from all over the world in the area and a wealth of good pubs. There are some great music venues from Koko, Jazz Cafe, Blues Kitchen, Underworld and the Barfly that you should be able to find every music genre from swing to heavy metal you could desire. The Roundhouse is another amazing venue and has a whole month celebrating circus starting in March/April. If you give me a little warning hopefully I'll be able to point you in the right direction. My flat is situated very close to the famous Camden markets which have been going for over 30 years where you can mooch through miles of stalls and find anything from vintage fashion and retro t-shirts to chandeliers and corsets. It's a great way to spend a Sunday. The Proud Gallery is located within Stables Market and regularly holds photographic exhibitions of pop icons often followed by gigs. If you want to get away from it all access to the Regents Canal is just round the corner. It's great to take a peaceful stroll down this historic canal, which takes you to Kings Cross one way or past London Zoo and to Little Venice the other. However if you're feeling really lazy you can take narrow boat cruise and also learn about the area. So hopefully that gives you an idea of the area, but the whole of London lies beyond. Hopefully my flat has everything you could possibly need but if there are any problems I'm happy to help. I look forward to meeting you. Guest AccessGuests will have access to my entire flat through a communal hallway. There is also a very tiny 'garden' at the back of the property at the moment where a few friendly squirrels love to visit.

The NeighborhoodIt took us a long time to choose a neighbourhood and an apartment we love. Kentish Town and Tufnell Park are beautiful, traditional residential areas of London that have excellent and quick transport links into central London. This neighbourhood is quiet and charming, particularly at night when all the street lamps are lit. Mostly professional people choose to live here, and in particular a lot of well known writers, journalists, artists and musicians. Kentish Town High Street itself is lively, international, and very London! There are lots of good shops, including a huge health food shop with fresh fruit and veg, excellent butcher and fishmonger and old school cockney flower girl! Tufnell Park is quieter and slightly closer with some fashionable shops, a great bakery, butcher, fish shop, veg shop, mini-supermarket and and a couple of very nice pubs. Getting AroundBoth Kentish Town and Tufnell Park are on the northern line and are just a few minutes walk away and there are numerous buses that go to most parts of central London. There are also two overground intercity train lines, one of which is good for Luton airport. Camden is just four bus stops away, and Hampstead Heath is also nearby. It takes on average 10-15 minutes by tube to get into the heart of central London. Other Things to NoteThere is use of a beautiful garden in summer months. The kitchen is fully stocked and I will supply breakfast things and essentials for you to use during your stay.

The SpaceI live in the heart of Camden Town, in a late Georgian terrace of houses right in the CENTRE of London. If you look on a map of London - I am to the right of Regents Park. I am letting out the whole of my home for much of July, August and October. Then all of December 2016and January 2017. I can offer other dates occasionally so just write to me if you are interested. Families love this home when on a budget. My Flat is on the 1st and 2nd floor (each room approx 16 sq mtrs and 7 sq mtrs): You will be staying in the whole of my flat when I am away. It is perfect for two couples or a family of four or even more. My flat is richly decorated which reflects the work that I do as a Textile Artist. My walls are covered with my choice of vintage finds, antiques and objets d'art. **This one bedroom flat is small, bright and sunny and is on a main road ... so I provide EARPLUGS. You have free Wi Fi, TVs, DVD and information about what is going on in London, with maps and guidebooks. SITTING ROOM/BEDROOM: There is a SOFABED for 2 people and 2 AIR MATTRESSES for kids. Families love staying here if on a tight budget as it is like camping in the sitting room. **If you want the sitting room back during the day then you can turn the mattresses on their side and put the sofabed up. **PLEASE NOTE that it is a tight fit for 4 to sleep in the sitting room. If parents do not mind I often put the 2nd mattress up in the main bedroom so that both rooms have 3 people each. BEDROOM on 2nd floor: My 5ft double bed is for 2 people. You can also have an air mattress in this room = 3 people. There is an electric blanket to keep you warm. I provide fresh linen, duvets, extra blankets, pillows and hot water bottles to keep you toasty. You have your own TV. KITCHEN: Do use my kitchen but please put everything back and tidy up when you leave. All my guests have respected this. You have all your own china, mugs etc. There is tea and coffee available for you, a washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, a fridge, iron and ironing board. I do not have a dryer but you can hang up your laundry on the hanger provided in the hallway. ** For 4 people to eat at the kitchen table is a tight fit but possible. I have 2 extra garden chairs that you can use but 6 adults cannot really eat at the table at the same time. BATHROOM: I supply big towels, hairdryers and a few shampoos etc. ROUND THE CORNER: There are 3 supermarkets, organic butchers, an Earth Store, 2 book shops, one of the first cycle shops in London, pharmacy, ATM and Post Office, 3 train stations, a great vegetable stall, ** There are 4 good local restaurants and a few really good breakfast cafes as well. Guest Access I would recommend breakfast at Arancini's, a cool cafe, and is 1 min away. Mario's around the corner (with his own mini Art gallery) also does a mean breakfast. Another great place for breakfast is Two Doors Down on the way to Camden Town tube. Interaction with GuestsGUEST WELCOME: I always try to welcome guests personally but if I am not around I make other arrangements for you as well as key access. My co- host, Gys, will welcome you as well. I provide a welcome pack for you and answer all your questions. Then I leave you be. The NeighborhoodIN WALKING DISTANCE: Camden is a vibrant area with many different cultures and creeds. This is reflected in the street life. We have boutiques, cafes, coffee houses, the Jazz Cafe, a Cinema, the Jewish Museum, welcoming pubs and small restaurants, thriving night clubs and a ground - breaking music scene, as well as charming neighbourhoods and easy access to London's Museums. I have lived in this area for over 24 years and still love it. *5 mins - Welcome to Camden Market packed with 100s of stalls, that receives over a hundred thousand people each weekend. This colourful street market is world famous and provides a glimpse of all of London's many tribes and fashions. *7 mins walk along Regents Canal to London Zoo and Primrose Hill with one of the best views of london. It has also featured in many films. *12 mins walk to Regents Park which has an open air theatre, cafes, walks and events. *20 mins you can walk to the British Library (next door to St Pancras Station) with the exquisite Treasures Room, 14 million books, cafes, exhibitions, and a huge statue of Newton thinking about gravity. SIGHTS TO SEE: *5 min bus to Kings Place, a fantastic new music and culture venue at the back of Kings Cross. *20 min bus to the British Museum and 9 other Museums all within walking distance, in the heart of Bloomsbury *25 min bus to the Tate Modern and the South Bank area that includes the Royal Festival Hall and the National Theatre. *6 min bus to the British Library *10 min bus to Bloomsbury, for literary fans, see a monument to Gandhi, the University and the Welcome Trust building. *15 mins bus to the heart of Covent Garden for boutique shopping, the Opera House, and street performances. *20mins bus to Soho and China Town and Trafalgar Square. *20 min bus to Oxford and Regents St shopping, including Selfridges and the Apple store. *15min train to Brick Lane Market. * 25 min train to Kew Gardens. * 10min bus ride to Madam Tussaud's and the Planetarium. THINGS TO DO: Cycling -- Santander Bikes are great and can be hired for as little as a £1 a day. Swimming 3 mins walk away is a newly restored Victorian Baths which is a delight. Walks around London are held on every subject yo can think of including street art and early morning photography walks. Picnics_- go up to Hampstead Heath 480 acres in the middle of London and listen to concerts or go on walks. Sight Seeing bus rides at night are well worth doing. Dinner at one of many London underground restaurants. All of London's famous Markets. Football... Emirates Stadium is a 20 mins walk away. For Movie Fans; At the back of St Pancras Station ( Batman Begins 2005) is Somerstown, featured in the film of the same name. Chaplin 1992 and countless films were filmed by the canal there, which has now been opened up for visitors and has a new street food market and a brilliant music venue called Kings Place. The Spice Girls filmed in the now magnificent St Pancras Hotel -- well worth a visit. All 8 Harry Potter films were filmed at Kings Cross Station so fans will want to visit platform 9 and 3/4 - ask anyone where it is. Alfie, Breaking and Entering, Nanny Mcfee 2 were filming in that area as well as Regents Park, Primrose Hill, Regents Canal. Camden has been filmed in numerous times. And Robert Downey Jnr had his photo taken right outside my front door for Sherlock Holmes. And I missed it… Getting AroundTRANSPORT: The best way to get around London is to buy an Oyster card when you arrive as this gives you cheap trips on all the tubes, buses and trains. I tend to go by buses everywhere as you can see so much and it is a delight to do so. * I live nearby 5 major train Stations including Euston, Eurostar, St Pancras, Kings Cross, Paddington and Marylebone Stations. Camden Town Tube and Camden Overground are are close by. *20mins walk to St Pancras International Station and Kings Cross Station but you can take a 6 mins bus or a 5 mins taxi. *6 mins walk to Camden Town tube. *2 mins walk to Camden Overground that takes you straight to Stratford and the Westfield Centre for shopping, in 20 mins or to Kew Gardens the opposite way. *Coming in from EUROSTAR is easy as I live in the same road. Arriving from Heathrow, get the Express to Paddington, then the tube. If you arrive at Gatwick, take the train to St Pancras International, or the Express to Victoria then the tube. Arriving at Luton Airport take the fast train to St Pancras, or the slow train to Kentish Town then it is a 6 min walk. **Coming in from Stansted Airport is straightforward. Take the Stansted Express to Liverpool St Station then a tube to Camden Town. If you have booked a cheap flight that arrives late at night, do please accept a pre booked taxi to my home for about £55 for a 40 min journey. Public transport late at night is unreliable and guests who have tried this way arrived at 3am. This does not work for them and me and I shall gracefully decline a booking that will not accept a taxi journey if arriving late at night. *If you have a CAR I can occasionally give out parking vouchers.. but transport is so good I would not recommend that you bring your car to London. Other Things to NoteThe flat is on the 1st and 2nd floors. Families of 5 or 6 have stayed very happily because of the character of the flat, the safe area, the budget - but it is a 1 bedroom flat. Kids love my home as it is cosy, warm and full of things to look at.

Interaction with GuestsI'll make sure you have local info to help you enjoy your stay; I won't be around but I'm always available on email if you need me and am very responsive to requests for info and advice. I love London and have lived here all my life, so will be happy to share information and advice on how to enjoy it. I've also done a lot of travelling so know what makes people feel welcome when they are away from home! The NeighborhoodKentish Town and Tufnell Park are fantastic! You can walk to Hampstead Heath or enjoy dozens of fantastic restaurants, cafes, gastro-pubs, cocktail bars and more within 15 mins of the front door; you'll be spoilt for choice! Plus there's all the practical stuff; post office, supermarket, newsagents, dry cleaners, butcher, baker - everything you'd expect from such a vibrant neighbourhood. World famous Camden is 20mins walk or 5mins on a bus...you could lose yourself for days with it's shops, markets, nightlife, food and more! Getting AroundFantastic transport. The 390 bus stops outside and runs 24hrs all the way to Notting Hill Gate and Portobello Road, via Hyde Park, Oxford Street, Tottenham Court Road and Kings Cross - surely the best bus in London! There are two Northern Line tube stations within 9 mins walk and the Piccadilly Line is 15 mins walk away, going right through town. There are lots of other buses in easy reach, and London Overland is also nearby going across London from Richmond to Stratford. Kentish Town Station also has direct links to Gatwick and Luton Airports. Other Things to NoteNot many rules: no pets - sorry animal lovers, I love them too but don't think they like being stuck indoors and it tends to lead to damage. No smoking in the property please!

Among products sold on the stalls are crafts, clothing, bric-a-brac, and fast food. It is the fourth-most popular visitor attraction in London, attracting approximately 100,000 people each weekend.[1] A small local food market that has operated in Inverness Street since the beginning of the 20th century has lost stalls since local supermarkets opened, and as of 2010 this market retains only three fruit and vegetable stalls (which are closed on Sundays), in addition to stalls for other products. Since 1974 a small weekly crafts market that has operated every Sunday near Camden Lock has developed into a large complex of markets.[2] The markets have a mixture of temporary stalls and fixed premises. The markets originally operated on Sundays, which continue to be the main trading days, with much activity on Saturdays, while a number of traders, mainly those in fixed premises, operate throughout the week. The SpaceThis is a spacious 3 bedroom top floor flat with separate dining area and a large airy lounge. The kitchen is functional and is a nice space to cook in. There are 2 bathrooms; one upstairs (which is mine) and one downstairs which is shared between 2 Airbnb guests. This Guest bedroom has a large double bed, and although the wallpaper is dark, it is in fact a surprisingly bright and airy room with a 6ft long clothes rail, book storage, a large mirror, a table and chair. There is a south facing roof terrace leading off from my bedroom which has a stunning view of the north London area and it's a great place to watch the sun go down. Guest AccessGuests have access to the kitchen, dining room, lounge, shared use of the downstairs bathroom which has a shower/large bath and WC. Guests will need to seek permission to use the roof terrace as this is off my bedroom. Please note that during your stay I cannot accommodate your friends staying overnight. Interaction with GuestsI am a quiet and private person and I am also sociable, love to laugh, and will be happy to share an occasional meal together and chat about life, the universe and everything. The nature of my work makes me very interested in people however knowing the difference between general curiosity and an intervention is a clear boundary for me. I will also respect your need for privacy and space. I created my home to be a peaceful place so if you want R&R (sorry, rest and relaxation) you will get it here. I will be present throughout the Guests' stay. The NeighborhoodNorth Villas is a quiet residential road with only 31 houses on the street which is unusual. There is a cosmopolitan feel to the area with a mixture of families, couples and single people living side by side. There is a gastro pub at the end of North Villas which provides great food, music and there is a small theatre upstairs. The late Amy Winehouse moved into the area and her house is literally 30 seconds away in Camden Square. This is a very safe neighbourhood, and in my 26 years of living in the area there have been no serious incidents. My home is located 15 minutes walk away from Camden Town underground and from there you are a few minutes away from Camden Market itself. Getting AroundThis location is ideal for getting around London and with excellent transport links you're about 30 - 45 minutes from most tourist attractions in the city. Public transport links from this address are the 29 and 253 bus going along Camden Road. The 29 bus will take you all the way to Trafalgar Square right outside the National Portrait Gallery and close to the Mall and St James Park. The 253 will take you to Euston Square which is a 15/20 minute walk to Tottenham Court Road/Oxford Street. On the way back: directions from Camden Town: If you get out at Camden Town station head towards Camden Road and there is a bus stop outside Sainsbury supermarket. You can catch the 253 bus (to Hackney) or the 29 bus (to Wood Green). You need to get off the bus at Torriano Avenue/bus stop F (opposite Cantelowes Park) which is the 5th bus stop along Camden Road. Get off the bus and cross directly over the road at the pedestrian crossing and walk up Cantelowes Road (on your left entrance). Walk straight up this road and on your left you'll pass Camden Mews and further along you will turn into North Villas. You'll see a church at the very bottom of this road as the landmark and head towards it. You will come to 15. You can also walk from Camden to North Villas which is a 15 minute walk from the station to my flat. The 390 is also a handy route. Catch it along York Way and it’ll take you to Kings Cross and on return it drops you off literally outside the door (Camden Park Road). The closest Overground is Camden Road which is an 10 minute walk away or a quick bus ride. The nearest tubes are Camden Town (Northern Line, 15 minute walk), Kentish Town & Tufnell Park (Northern Line, 20 minute walk) or Caledonian Road (Piccadilly Line, 20 minute walk) or Finsbury Park (Victoria Line is a 10 minute bus ride away). There is residents parking however you will need to apply for permits if you wish to hire a car and park outside the flat. There are taxis that can be ordered from the airports and will cost around £40 +. If you did want to get a cab from the airport you can let me know and I will happily order one for you for the price stated by the cab company. Other Things to NoteThis is a strictly No Smoking/Drug Free Zone. ***Please note that during your stay I cannot accommodate your friends staying overnight.*** **Check In** - As I work Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00 check in is from 17:00. Please note that weekend check in can be earlier from 14:00. ***Please note that my home is a 15 minute walk to Camden Town or a bus ride away so please bear this in mind when booking : ) ***** Thank you.

The second bathroom is a separate cloakroom toilet/ sink adjacent. Both bathrooms are shared with one other - myself). Most of the house has been recently decorated with Farrow and Ball. Central heating is prevalent throughout. The house truly is a calm and spacious sanctuary- a home away from home. ABOUT THE AREA: ****HOT OFF THE PRESS- THE LATEST FILMING COMPANY INTEREST**** The house and street have recently starred in a Quality Street Christmas 2015 Chocolate National TV Advert for Nestle. A good accolade for my street. The house is a Victorian Workers Terraced cottage with white picket fence at the front, in a conservation area of similar cottages and is situated in a lovely safe and quiet area of Chalk Farm/ Camden Town - 5 mins walk away from Camden Town or Chalk Farm Tube Stations (Northern Line) and 15- 20 minutes walk away from Kings Cross/ St Pancras International. Media Glitzy Posh Primrose Hill with its lovely cafes and pubs is 5 mins walk away. The hipsters hangouts- Hackney Wick and Shoreditch are also 15 minutes away by train, via the Kentish Town West London Overground Station- just 3 minutes walk away from the house. The world famous Camden Market is less than a minute walk away - turn a corner at the end of the street and your in sight of the hustle and bustle of the Market. No parking is available unfortunately but as well as the tubes there are loads of bus networks to all corners of London - with the bus stop just round the corner. Airports nearby are Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, City Airport or Luton and cab numbers are available as requested. YOUR HOST!: Works as an Arts Event Manager in the Customer Experience Department at the Barbican Centre (largest international arts centre in Europe) so I know all about good hosting! I have run receptions in the past with guests ranging from the Queen to Nick Cave in attendance. Im in my 40s, am v laid back, entertaining and incredibly knowledgeable about London, having lived here since 1996 (yes, like many others, I was drawn here to the music scene as was in a band and ended up recording an album in Camden!). Ive given up the singing now and have been renting out a second bedroom for 14 years -so its basically a very arty house. I have a strong eclectic cultural knowledge of London which Im more than happy to share with guests. For the more sporty guests who love skiing – Im also a ski instructor and teach part time in Italy for the occasional weeks of the year. Guest AccessAccess to Kitchen for cooking, Lounge/ Dining Room, Garden and Communal Bathrooms. Interaction with GuestsI love travelling to experience different cultures and when I can't travel- I love to meet guests from different places around the world- and am lucky to have experienced meeting guests from many countries during my hosting. I am more than happy to interact with the guests and answer any questions they may have about the house/ area. Some guests have become great friends and regularly stay and I have taken some guests to the latest cool bars/ restaurants or concerts in the area. As I work in customer experience, I instinctively know about anticipating what guests would require for a comfortable/ informative and typically English stay. I will be living at the house whilst guests are with me. Im also aware that guests may need lots of privacy too- and am respectful of this. I have a busy social/ work life but will always make my guests a priority. The NeighborhoodThe street is so pretty we've had filming and photography companies do location shooting here. Its a delightfully gorgeous street with a church/ school at the end of the street and white picket fences outside the Victorian Railway Workers cottages. Although the house is a mere less than a minutes walk from the famous Stables Market, its a very quiet street with local residents who have been here for years. The street definitely has a 'village' feel. Camden is a vibrant, colourful, alternative place to visit- full of Youth Culture and Creative Businesses. I was first drawn to the area for the alternative 'Britpop' music scene. Take a stroll down the canal to beautiful regents park, little venice or re landscaped Kings Cross, people watch from the many bars/ restaurants with outside seating on Chalk Farm Road, or go star spotting and catch the best view of London in nearby Primrose Hill. Take in a gig at the iconic Roundhouse, Dublin Castle, Proud Gallery and Jazz Cafe, or eat at the Gordon Ramsey Restaurant 'The York and Albany' at the top of Parkway. The choice of things to do is endless. Getting AroundNo parking for cars unfortunately BUT- amazing transport links (who needs a car in London?) Overground Station (Kentish town west: 2 mins walk away) takes you out to Dalston/ or Richmond Tubes (Northern Line- both Chalk Farm and Camden Town Stations are 5 mins walk away) takes you to the City or Charing Cross in 25 mins Buses 1 min walk away)- takes you to Tottenham Court Road/ Waterloo/ Paddington in 20 mins. Basically, its very easy to get to any corner of London from here. Gatwick Airport: Northern Line to Euston, then Victoria Line to Victoria then Gatwick Express Stanstead: Northern Line to Moorgate then Circle or Hammersmith and City Line to Liverpool Street then Stanstead Express Other Things to NoteA universal travel adaptor with double USB Charger, spare iPhone charger, an iPod docking station and Hairdryer is also available with the room.
