The SpaceLarge room with set of drawers, wardrobe, sofa and heating. Little traffic noise as house is on a cul-de-sac. House is shared with a Franco-Australian couple (Bec & Steph) and our baby girl. We both work busy jobs which are part office and part working from home. The baby is at daycare Mon-Wed and home with us the rest of the time. Only 6 mins walk to Blackhorse Road station on the Victoria Line, the best tube line in London (aka "The blue bullet"), making it very well connected to King's Cross (15 min), Oxford Circ.(17 min), Victoria (22 min), etc. Also 5 mins walk to St James Street station with an overground line just 13 mins to Liverpool Street. The price has been discounted due to a 9 month old baby being present in the house. There is occasionally noise in the night and she gets up around 6am. We do our best to minimise guest disruption. Guest AccessShared bathroom, kitchen, dining, laundry, back patio, a leafy yard. Strong wifi included. Attic for luggage if needed. Room has a big bay window, set of drawers, wardrobe, huge tv with hdmi cable for laptop connection. Linen included, towels, hairdryer, and we can supply some toiletries and tea/coffee if you need them for short stays (3 days). We do not supply any food or room cleaning during the stay. We have prepared a litte welcome pack we will send you by email, detailing all sorts of useful info (where the hairdryer is, closest transport and shops, what the WIFI code is, etc.) Interaction with GuestsWe love chatting to fellow travellers, but obviously understand if you are here for work, need a bit of privacy, or anything. We are quite busy with work and the baby so tend to race around in the evenings then retire to bed "early". We are happy to share our knowledge of London's best spots and have some tourist books you are welcome to borrow. Do not hesitate to tell us what you are here for, and we'll accommodate your preferences. Becky is Australian and Stephane is French - house languages include English, French, Spanish and German. The NeighborhoodWalthamstow (E17) is an up-and-coming area, cosmopolitan, increasingly trendy. It is in the suburbs of East London so can certainly be less than picture perfect, but is safe and with good transport connections. Europe's longest open market is just 4 minutes away on the pedestrianised high street. There is a huge natural wetland bird reserve right around the corner, with canals and riverside pubs, lovely for jogs and picnics. Getting AroundVery convenient: - 6 mins walk to Blackhorse Road station, on the Victoria tube line (you are at Oxford Circus in under 17 mins). - 6 mins walk to Black Horse Road Overground station, which services North / East of London. - 5 mins to St James Street station (which goes to Liverpool Street in 15 minutes) - 2 mins to bus stop/s to local areas Our postcode is London E17 7AY, put in maps, you'll see how quick it is to get anywhere, while enjoying a lovely country-like quiet and yet urban shabby chic part of London. Other Things to NoteCouples very welcome obviously (there is a small extra charge for this however). No bias of any sorts (nationality, gender, sexual orientations, etc.) We are very happy to help with tourist or local tips for things to do and fun places to visit.

The SpaceBeautiful double room in a spacious, spilt level house with lovely garden around the Walthamstow area. Lovely and green, very quiet and peaceful, with the shared use of kitchen, living area and bathroom with my flatmate, Bart. Great transport links to central London. Walthamstow is in Zone 3 of the tube line. It takes about 30/40 minutes to get into central London, very convenient for most tourist destinations. Also an overground train connection to East London, London Liverpool Street, where all the young, trendy places are. Loads of fresh fruit and vegetables stores at your doorstep, supermarkets, shops and the longest outdoor market in Europe. Guest AccessSuper fast internet, cable television, well equipped kitchen with oven and use of washing machine. In summer, you can sit outside in the sun trapped garden and watch birds and squirrels. Free on street parking (sometimes hard to find free spots). Interaction with GuestsEither my flatmate Bart or myself will be around to greet you or help you with any queries. When we are not around, we will leave keys in a keysafe for you to access to get into the house. The NeighborhoodUp and coming area in East London. Fabulous walks around, many new bars and eateries in Walthamstow Village and around. We usually leave recommendations out for guests. Longest fresh produce market in London, the Walthamstow Market is at your doorstep. Please remember that London is very very big and I live in the East. It takes about an hour to travel from the East to the West. About half an hour to Camden (North London) and about 45 minutes to Waterloo/Westminster (where the London Eye and Big Ben is). Getting AroundI live about 10-15 minutes away from the tube station ( Victoria Line/Zone 3) Fast and direct line to Oxford Circus, Kings Cross, Green Park. 5 minutes away from St James Street Train station - fast train to London Liverpool Street, Bethnal Green and Hackney. If you need, I can lend you a bicycle upon prior arrangement. Closest airport is Stanstead Airport or London City. Other Things to NoteThere are wild furry creatures living in the garden , latest sighting - a wild fox. There are also roaming cats, squirrels and I have a few doggy friends that comes over.

The SpaceMy flat is in a lovely Victorian terraced house in east London and has mostly wooden floors. It is fully central heated. I have a small garden at the back, which is quiet and peaceful to sit out in during the summer. I have two bedrooms, one medium sized and the other small. In the medium sized bedroom there is a double bed and in the small bedroom there is a futon that can be used as a double bed. In other words, the flat would suit a couple plus one other person comfortably. (It can suit two couples if one couple doesn't mind being in a small room). I also have a good sized lounge which has attractive wooden shutters and a gas fire. The kitchen has a washing machine and a dishwasher. There is also a bathroom/shower/toilet. Guest AccessI can be flexible according to your needs, but essentially you can have access to everything in the flat. If there are only two of you (and you are a couple) I would probably lock the second bedroom, but we could come to some agreement on that if you wished to use it as a study. You are free to use anything in the kitchen; washing machine, dish washer, ironing board, cooker etc. Same goes for the lounge. I have wi-fi so you would have constant internet access. You can watch the television, of course, and even play a DVD, CD or records. I have a small garden at the back, with an outside table and chairs, and you'd be free to use those. Parking is restricted outside the flat before 6.30pm on weekday, although it is not restricted on weekends. You could either park your car a few streets away and walk to the flat, or I have guest permits for parking outside my flat. If you're staying more than two days and you want to use these visitor permits I may have to charge you a little extra because I have to pay for them. They only work out at about £3-£5 a day though. Hopefully we could come to an agreement. Interaction with GuestsA cleaner will come for two hours each Monday morning. She has her own key. The NeighborhoodMy flat is 10 minutes' walk to Walthamstow Central station on the Victoria Line. This is a quick line which takes you to King's Cross in 15 minutes, and Oxford Street in 20. From Walthamstow Central station there is also an overground train taking 15 minutes to get to Liverpool Street station. Walthamstow Village is only ten minutes' walk away. It's got lots of restaurants and pubs and there is a great micro-brewery and a neon sign museum/shop. Definitely worth a look. Epping Forest and Walthamstow marshes are only about a mile away and so there are some great places to walk and cycle, along river banks and paths through fields. The flat is parallel to Hoe Street, which has multiple amenities including a post office, take away restaurants, pubs, grocery stores etc. One of the pubs has a small theatre of several have music/bands. These are all within a few minutes's walk. There's a multiplex cinema within ten minutes' walk. There are several cash machines within three minutes' walk. A Tesco Metro store is only 80 metres from the flat, selling food, milk etc. Getting AroundThere are lots of buses to destinations across London, and there are good links to the Tube and Overground network. Other Things to NoteI have a piano in the lounge - and you're free to play it!

The SpaceI have a lovely comfy cottagey characterful ground floor of a charming period house in Walthamstow, East London built circa 1895. Walthamstow is a vibrant and diverse part of London with the longest street market in Europe and is also home to The William Morris Gallery. It's got some great traditional pubs and restaurants and is well connected in terms of getting into the centre of London; and if you want some time in the natural world to Epping Forest- from where the Celtic Queen Boudica fought the Romans! The space is soft, simple and homely with all the basic things you need: bath/ shower, cooker, fridge, wifi, central heating. It also has a delightful garden that's shared with the upstairs neighbour. There is a comfortable double bed in the bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room. The flat has a warm, traditional and cottagey feel created by the original features- wooden floors, fireplace, tiles and my own taste in arts and crafts. It is a two minute walk to Blackhorse Road tube, which is on the Victoria line and overground so you will be well connected. It takes 22 minutes to get to Oxford Circus. There's also a bus stop outside the tube with buses to Stratford. There's a night bus that drops you about 2-3 minutes away coming from Victoria via Kings Cross and Islington, if you like your nights late. I'll provide clean bed linen and towels for your stay as well as all the basics- tea, coffee, milk, juice, cereal, bread etc alongside any useful tips I can offer to make your stay a great one.
