Other than that, we leave our guests to enjoy their peace. The NeighborhoodHousing 10,000 people on a site that is only half a mile from the pinstripes of the City of London, the Aylesbury remains the largest estate in Europe. Bolted together by a series of bridges and walkways, the landscape around Walworth is forever changing and provides you with a new perspective with every turn…Despite the recent upsurge in celebrating the local community, Walworth is ripe for gentrification. With the bulldozers now not moving in, it is only a matter of time before the Bright Young Things from the City enclave around SE17. Old school buildings are already being converted into loft space. Getting AroundThe best way around town is by bus. We are near several important bridges: westminster, tower bridge, london bridge and waterloo bridge. If you go to North London (e.g. Hampstead, or Camden Town) then the tube is the best option.

The SpaceHi there! My place is a two bedroomed architect-designed apartment, a lovely street of little houses. A double room is available, for a maximum of two people. You will share the apartment with me, Matthew. Like London, the place is modern on the inside but old on the outside! Guest AccessWHAT IS YOURS: Your room has a double bed (140cm wide), with lots of storage and a desk. The bed is made up, and towels are provided, and there is a hairdryer and a European socket adaptor WHAT IS SHARED: You share with me the open plan living room with high, roof-lit ceiling, and a piano if you want to play! Please feel free to use the kitchen area, with oven, dishwasher, microwave, and all utensils, and dining table Bathroom with shower, bath and washing machine South facing balcony overlooking private gardens, great for breakfast or lunch in good weather. The place has wi-fi Interaction with GuestsThe majority of the time, I am also at the flat, but sometimes I can be absent for some of your stay. The NeighborhoodWHERE: The apartment is in Southwark, south of the Thames. To be clear, this location, 16 mins walk from the Underground at Elephant and Castle, is not in tourist London and not right next to nightlife and shops. If you want to roll out of bed right in the middle of town next to an underground station, then this is not the place for you. The area is a residential area just south of the centre of London. So if you need somewhere comfortable, clean, sunny, and quiet, that is easy to get into town from, in an interesting multicultural area where real people actually live, then this apartment is great! Central London is pretty big. Yet thanks to the bend in the river Thames, the flat is equidistant to most places of interest - Westminster, Soho, the West End, Covent Garden, and the City of London are a short bus journey away. The area isn't London's most glamorous, but it is convenient. In fact, with the wind in the right direction, when lying in bed you can hear Big Ben striking! Local facilities are great for buying provisions. Not only are good British supermarkets under five mins walk away, but a very handy well stocked Turkish store is also close by, where you can get groceries, fruit and freshly baked bread 24 hours a day! Getting AroundBUS The buses from the Walworth Road, which is three minutes walk away, are frequent and the best way get here. It takes as little as 20 minutes to all of central London, with 11 routes during the day, and 7 routes all night TUBE The nearest tube station is Elephant and Castle (in zone 1) is 16 minutes walk away, and is on two lines, Bakerloo and Northern. Kennington tube is also within 15-20 mins walk. BIKE The nearest London cycle hire scheme (only £2 for 24hours access) is a few mins walk away TRAIN Elephant and Castle has the Thameslink trains, direct to all central London stops, plus further north and south. AIRPORTS The great thing about this location is all six London airports (Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton, Stansted, City and Southend) take around the same time to get to from the place, around 1 hour or so, though that varies with the time of day. CAR If you have a car, there is street parking right out side the door. It is free in the evenings and all weekend, outside these times it is payable parking. However, there is some free on street parking around 10 mins walk away, which I can show you if you require it. Other Things to NoteCheck in is flexible, but you do need to provide arrival details in advance. Check out is usually best before 11 am, though you are very welcome to leave your luggage here on the day of departure, to pick up in the evening. Please read the listing carefully before booking, or requesting a booking, reservations will be accepted on the basis you have done so. The room is for one or two people, there is no space for a third person, and the flat is not suitable for a baby or small child. All the information guests usually require is hopefully stated here, so please double check your questions before asking, or committing to book. Should you then not see the answer to your question, then ask!

The SpaceOur home is a Victorian terraced house, spread over 4 floors. The house is located on a quiet residential street in Camberwell, in south London (about 2 miles from both Westminster Bridge and London Bridge). The bedroom is a large bright room, which sleeps two people. The bed can be configured either as a super king size, or as two single beds. The room has a desk and armchair as well as plenty of wardrobe space. We do not serve breakfast, but tea, coffee, biscuits and cereal are provided in the room. We are also happy to provide a toaster or microwave for guests who wish. Guest AccessGuests have access to a shared bathroom and toilet, and our sitting rooms (please play the piano!). We are unable to provide access to the kitchen, but tea, coffee, biscuits and cereal are provided in the room. Interaction with GuestsOne of us will always be around for check-in/out, and we will always be around during your stay. We both work in the week, but are usually at home in the evenings for a chat, and are happy to provide tips on getting about and where to visit/eat. However, we also appreciate that some guests may prefer their privacy, and are happy to respect that. The NeighborhoodWe love living in Camberwell, and believe it is a great place to explore London from. Our neighbourhood has some fantastic cafés, pubs and restaurants and with trendy Peckham and Brixton and genteel Dulwich only a stone’s throw away, you might prefer to put off the big sights and explore what South London has to offer instead. In the evenings there are a range of excellent but affordable places to eat and drink – we’ll tell you which places to head to and where to avoid. Getting AroundOur house is five minutes’ walk from the bus stop, from where buses depart every 1-2 minutes during the day for central London. Unlike the Tube, most bus routes also operate 24 (website hidden) Paul's Cathedral, Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Covent Garden, Tower Bridge, Tower of London, Tate Modern, London Eye, London Aquarium and the Southbank Arts Centre are just some of the destinations that are all only about 30 minutes or less by direct bus. There are also direct buses to almost all the main train stations. Many guests not familiar to London are put off by the lack of tube access, but taking the bus is really straightforward and cheaper. We are happy to give advice and tips on what to do, and have spare Oyster cards available if needed. The nearest tube station is Elephant and Castle (Northern and Bakerloo lines), which is a 25 min walk or 10 min bus journey from the house. Denmark Hill is the nearest overground station. There is on-street parking, which requires a visitors permit. We can provide these at £4.50 a day (the Council really do charge that much). Other Things to NotePlease note that the guest room is on the top floor, reached by two flights of stairs. As we are both usually at work during the day, weekday check-in is usually after 6 pm, and check-out by 9.30 am. We are more flexible at weekends - just ask us. We can also look after luggage at work during the day if you are planning sight-seeing.

The SpaceThe apartment is on the ground floor and was built in the vernacular cottage style in 1905 in Walworth Village. It is a warm, bright and peaceful place to stay. It has a good-sized, well-equipped kitchen, comfortable living room with sofa bed, bedroom with double bed, bath and shower and a very efficient heating and hot water system. In summer you can sit outside in the small south facing back garden. Guest AccessThe apartment was purpose built so has its own private access from the street. There is ample on street parking (payment or visitor's permit is needed during working hours) and good public transport access with direct buses from most of the main stations including Kings Cross and Liverpool Street. The nearest tube station is a 10 minute bus ride at Elephant & Castle. Interaction with GuestsWe always try to meet out guests on arrival - if this isn't possible (perhaps because you don't get in to London until late) we make sure you have the keys and full directions in good time for your trip. The NeighborhoodThe local market on East Street (birthplace of Charlie Chaplin) has a great reputation for its range of fresh and exotic foods at fantastic prices. Walworth Village is quaint and quiet. Five minutes walk and you're on Walworth Road - a colourful and vibrant mix of cultures - and a very good gym (no contract). Getting AroundYou can get pretty much anywhere in London by bus from Walworth Road. Our favourite route is the No 12 which takes you over Westminster Bridge past the Houses of Parliament up Whitehall (past Downing Street) to Trafalgar Square and from there on to Regent's Street and Oxford Circus - sitting upstairs on the front seat of a double decker - there's no better way to see London. You can also get buses direct to the South Bank and lots of other landmark destinations. Being south of the river means that whichever way you go you can get great views of the Thames. Other Things to NoteWifi is included. We also leave basic food stuffs (salt, cooking oil etc).

The SpaceThe flat is clean and dust free as I am currently taking a break from renovation, although there is still more to do in the future, I won't be doing any while you are staying! I have loved doing the work and have taken care and attention over it. I should have hung the pictures by the time you arrive. I have a feather duvet and pillows on the bed so it might not suitable for people with serious allergies. I provide clean sheets and towels and basket of shampoo, conditioner and showers gels so you can pack light if you need to. I currently have a flatmate who lives with me during the week when she's not in Paris so the room is generally only available from Thursday to Sunday. I keep my calendar up to date to ensure no one is disappointed. Children are welcome but as the renovations are not completely finished I would not recommend the flat for young children. Infants are also welcome but there is limited space in the bedrooms, so unfortunately not room for a cot in the bedroom if you are planning to have other people stay too. Guest AccessYou will have access to the whole flat and garden. You are more than welcome to use the kitchen, which is perfectly functional and I have all the basics so you won't have to buy anything annoying like salt or oil. Tea and coffee are available for you to help yourself. Interaction with GuestsI may be away when you stay but I will let you know before hand, otherwise if I'm around it will be lovely to meet you, and have a cup of tea but other than that I tend to let guests have their own privacy. I am always available by email and phone if there are any problems during your stay. I have lived in London for 13 years, and I love being able to share my city with visitors, it is the thing I have enjoyed most about hosting air BnB. I am very foodie so I will be happy to recommend restaurants, bars and pubs all over London. Ask me about organising reservations if there's somewhere you fancy going, as it can be tricky to get a table without booking sometimes. I have just completed a guide to the local area including information about good places to eat, local food shops, pubs, micro breweries and markets, which is in the flat for your reference but I will happily email it before hand. I've been in the area for a couple of years now so if there's anything you'd like to know just ask. I grew up in the North of England near Sheffield, and spent a couple of years living in Glasgow, so I have a good knowledge of London but also England and Scotland and would be happy to help with any suggestions for onward travel in the UK. The NeighborhoodElephant and Castle is a really vibrant area, it is in the process of being majorly regenerated and it is going to be really interesting to see how it changes. It is surprising central and a great location to be based to get to the rest of London from. There are some great inexpensive places to eat locally, and some really brilliant places within a 30 minute walk or a shorter bus ride. Getting AroundThe flat is a 15 minute walk from Elephant and Castle tube station (Bakerloo and Northern Lines & National rail services) and a 20 minute walk from Kennington (Northern line). It is then just a few stops to central London. It is served by lots of local buses going north to central London and South to Camberwell and Brixton. I regularly walk to the South Bank (35mins), Bermondsey (25mins), Camberwell (20 mins) or Westminster (30mins). Car parking outside the flat can easily be arranged as I have visitors permits available for a small fee. There's lots of on street parking available. There is a Europcar for car hire about 20 minutes walk away in Kennington, and it is also possible to sign up for the Zip Car sharing service which has cars and vans available in the streets surrounding the flat. Other Things to NoteI will meet you to hand over the keys or I have a key safe so you can access the flat at any time. I work in north London during the week so I'm unlikely to be in if you arrive during the day. Make yourself at home and enjoy your stay!

The SpaceThe house is very cosy and I'm sure you will feel at home. The room has a huge built in wardrobe for your clothes and keeping suitcases out of sight during your stay. Wooden floors and a comfortable mattress are a plus! Fresh sheets and bath towels are always provided as well as tea and coffee available in the kitchen. Guest AccessDuring your stay you have full access to your private room as well as the kitchen where you're able to use all of the equipment, including washing machine. Interaction with GuestsThis property is great for guests looking for hotel-like independence. After check-in you are free to come and go as you please, there is also no need to see me on your way out. This gives you plenty of privacy and saves the awkward conversations, which not everyone likes. On the other hand when time permits and you're a social butterfly I will most definitely have lovely chats with you and share stories over a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. Most importantly you will always feel comfortable and at home. The NeighborhoodThis area is great as you're walking distance to River Thames, Borough Market, London Bridge, St Catherine's Dock, Tower Bridge, Westminster, London Eye, lots of bars and restaurants. There is also a huge park nearby with a lake where people fish as well as outdoor BBQ areas. Getting AroundBuses going all over London are 2min walk away, the tube station is nearby and you're also able to walk around as we're just on the border of zone 1. Closest stations include: Borough, Elephant & Castle, London Bridge, Waterloo. Other Things to NoteThere is no living room in the property but plenty of space! It's a split level house with the kitchen on the ground floor and the bedroom and bathroom upstairs. I own the property and have 3 airbnb rooms available, occupancy depends, sometimes all 3 can be let other times just one. The bathroom is separate from the toilet and as everyone has their own schedule there's never issues with that nor you will see people in the house much as everyone is usually out and about so the set up works really well, which is one of the reasons I love airbnb because I still have loads of privacy in my home :)

The SpaceMy Room, your room: • One half-double bed, 4 big pillows + cases, 1 cushion, 1 king size duvet and sheets • Dresser, closet, coffee table, bedside table, 1 chair, washing up basket • TV plugs (I don’t have TV, you can bring yours but avoid home cinema) • Firearm (No candles, no cigarettes, no camp fires) The Flat: • Fully equipped kitchen including fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and oven • One bathroom + toilets • A small balcony with table + 2 chairs + clotheshorse • Washing machine • Flatiron • Wireless broadband Internet • Lift (Flat is on the 1st floor) • A cleaner comes once a week (usually on Wednesdays, before midday) Provided: • Towels • Shampoo, shower gel and toothpaste • Sheets, pillow cases, 1 KS duvet and 1 sleeping bag • Keys (no spare) Interaction with GuestsObviously, feel free to contact me anytime, I will answer inquiries within 12 hours. The NeighborhoodThe flat is located in South East London, at the very end of ZONE 1, on Old Kent Road, 15 minutes walking to Elephant & Castle. The brand new building is right between the stylish and sophisticated Bermondsey and genuinely multi-cultural Walworth. I’ve lived in the heart of Shoreditch for a while and I have to say even though I loved it, I feel far more fulfilled on the other side of the Thames. I’m pretty sure you’ll enjoy the area as I do. I spend most of my time in East London (Shoreditch, Bethnal Green, Whitechapel, Hackney), and Soho in North London, and Southwark, Camberwell, Brixton, Peckham, Dulwich and Greenwich in South London, and I’ve to say it’s very easy to commute around. (One thing you also have to know about me: I prefer buses, so much pleasant). All buses for South and North London are literally right down the street, 15 seconds walking from the flat. Getting AroundIf you enjoy walking, please avoid commutes as much as your feet can handle it, it is, as for me, the best way to experience London and bump into lovely or unusual places, especially if you’re into photography or contemplative strolls. LIDL, Tesco Metro, loads of off-licences and 24h shops (some of them do Oyster Card top-ups) on Old Kent Rd Bermondsey Street (13 min walk) East Street Market (10 min walk) Elephant & Castle (15 min walk – 6 min bus L(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)) London Bridge/Tower Bridge/The Shard (20-25 min walk – 10 min bus L42) Borough Market (25 min walk – 13 min bus L21) Tate Modern (30 min walk – 18 min bus L63) North London: Soho/Oxford Street (35 min bus L453) Liverpool Street/Shoreditch/Aldgate/Whitechapel (15-25 min bus L42/21) Kings Cross/St Pancras (30min bus L63) Camden Town (43min bus L168) South London: Camberwell (18 min bus L42) Brixton (28 min bus L415) Peckham (14 min L63/363) Note you have other buses (to Tottenham Court Road, Waterloo, Dulwich…etc) at East Street and Flint Street junction, 12 minutes walking from the flat. Other Things to NoteGUESTS HAVE TO KNOW: • This is a flatshare, so you’ll live with 3 other persons (1 girl, 2 guys), all respectful and friendly • There is no living room • The blind in the bedroom is unfortunately locked, so impossible to lower it. It can be annoying if you fancy complete dark night sleep. • If you let the window open (which I recommend), be aware Old Kent Road can be loud sometimes, especially in the morning. • As I said before, my bed is a half-double, so you can share it with someone but it is not that comfy. A spare “bed” can be settled using the KS duvet as a mattress. Sleeping bag and sheets provided. • Carpeting floor in the corridor and the bedroom

The SpaceNOT FOR THOSE WHO PREFER TO STAY in Chelsea and Kensington - just to mention BEFORE you book in order to avoid any misunderstanding later when you reviewing and starring my place, but for most people it's a great central location to explore London, with a mix of cultures.Vibrant and culturally diverse, this neighbourhood has its own distinct character. My flat is within standart council building on the border of London´s zone 1, in the heart of the city! It's a quiet place in Walworth, between Camberwell and Elephant & Castle, in the London borough of Southwark, south of the river. Walworth is a cheap-and-cheerful, multi-cultural part of London close to the centre with excellent transport links. Guest AccessKitchen appliances such as Fridge, Freezer, Microvawe, Toaster, Kettle, Water filter (stove and washing machine are not for guests usage but if you are desparate pleas ask ); Bathroom Interaction with GuestsI live in the flat myself therefore if you need any help i am there. The NeighborhoodVibrant and culturally diverse, this neighbourhood has its own distinct character. Not for those who prefer to stay in Chelsea and Kensington, but for most people it's a great central location to explore London, with a mix of cultures. Elephant and Castle itself is an interesting part of London. Currently in the midst of a £3bn regeneration, which is seeing large portions of it rebuilt. It is home to the world famous Ministry of Sound nightclub, as well as the equally good Corsica Studios which offers the best in underground contemporary dance music. Burgess Park with a lake and outdoor gym is just 5 min away. In terms of amenities, there is the Elephant and Castle shopping centre literally 50 metres across the road, which has two supermarkets, a pharmacy, dry cleaners and various smaller shops selling a range of goods. Getting AroundTRANSPORT From here you can go to Victoria, the main station in London, in just 15 min by bus. 10 minutes on the bus to Waterloo or London Bridge, 15 minutes to Trafalgar Square, 25 minutes to Oxford St. Easy access to the West End and the square mile (St. Paul's, the Gherkin etc.), and on several night bus routes. That´s really good for those who need to save time. The tube and railway station (Elephant & Castle) are just one block away from the flat and all central London sights are reachable by bus which you can take just outside the building. That´s a great advantage because the tube fare is more than double the price! This neighbourhood is perfect for transport because you can go from here anywhere in London and very quick! It is hard to find anywhere in London better connected to public transport than Elephant and Castle. As well as two tube lines, and a mainline station less than 100m from the flat, there are a whopping 29 bus routes which can bring you to all corners of London! The main railway terminals of Waterloo and London Bridge Stations are both a mere 15 minute walk away, meaning the flat is ideally located to make day trips outside of London. Other Things to NoteThere are 3 spacious double rooms in my flat for guests to stay. over summer (june/july) my family is staying with me.

The SpaceThe space is lived in by a creative Scottish person, and is modern, clean and comfortable. As well as all the facilities mentioned, I do have a hairdryer available. Due to popular demand. This is amusing because lady guests have asked "Do you have a hairdryer Gordon?" And I'm bald! So I bought a hairdryer for guests to use. Guest AccessYou do of course have access to the living area with 36 inch flat screen TV, fully fitted kitchen with washing machine and decent sized (for London) bathroom. Interaction with GuestsHaving lived in London for over 20 years, in this flat for 10, as a culture vulture, I can help point you in the direction of some of the hidden gems and the best shows and museums depending on your taste if need be. Please refer to your guidebooks, VisitLondon and Time Out for most of the must-see tourist attractions. Lots of my guests have invested in the London Pass which is great value if you make the most of it. The NeighborhoodBermondsey was declared by The Sunday Times in 2016 as being the 3rd best place to live in London (beating Greenwich and Hampstead) with lots of cool bars, boutiques, restaurants and the odd gallery at nearby Bermondsey street. Borough market nearby is foodie heaven and anywhere you can think of is easy to get to from here. We have a Lidl supermarket next door and a few supermarkets, convenience stores, restaurants and takeaways all within easy walking distance as well as a Dominos Pizza and 24 hour convenience store across the street. For the best pizza you've ever had Franco Manca is a short walk and authentic London pie & mash at Manzes is even closer. Getting AroundThere are several bus stops 2 minutes from the flat (the bus stop is Bricklayers Arms) and 9 bus routes (including some 24 hour buses) taking you all over London and connecting to the nearest tube and train stations in 5 minutes so the transport connections are great and we're in zone 1. Please see TFL (Transport for London) and Oyster Travelcard websites for more information. There are also Santander hire bikes close to the flat. Other Things to NoteThe flat and this bedroom are above a busy road on the 7th floor, bright and noisy so if you are extremely sensitive to noise and a very light sleeper then you may want to use the earplugs I provide. Basically, we rarely sleep with the bedroom windows open in the summer but most people don't notice any traffic noise - we are in the centre of a city after all. I also provide eyemasks for the bright mornings if needed.

The SpaceThe guest bedroom is homely and welcoming, with lots of colour and quirky bits and pieces. It has its own kettle, tea and coffee and plenty of books to browse if you fancy. The bathroom is spacious and clean, with a huge old fashioned bath to wallow in and towels provided. Please note though, there is no separate shower - so if you need your morning power shower, please avoid! Location-wise we have the best of both worlds in that the road is super quiet - (it is a cul-de-sac with no through traffic) - but it is just a five minute walk away from the buzz of Camberwell Church Street with its arty cafes and truly multi-national selection of restaurants. If you prefer to cook though, you are welcome to use our large and well-equipped modern kitchen, and there is space either in the kitchen or outside (in the summer) to sit, eat, chat, use laptops etc. We are a very friendly household so please do grab us for a chat in the kitchen, but we are also really busy juggling many roles so please don't be offended if time for talk is limited! I am a musician and piano teacher so you may hear playing/practising/teaching/rehearsing although only within sociable hours : ) Guest AccessGuests have shared access to the bathroom and light use of the kitchen. Guests are very welcome to use the garden space outside when weather permits. Interaction with GuestsVery happy to help in any way I can ! The NeighborhoodCamberwell is a fantastic area - really alive, both by day and night. Its pubs are characterful, friendly and packed at the weekends. The selection of restaurants is worthy of central London, and Camberwell's food shops stay open until very late. The fact that Camberwell stays busy late also makes it feel very safe - something women travelling alone have commented on. Getting AroundCamberwell is brilliantly served with buses: there are more than 10 bus routes from here to central London. The nearest tube stations are Oval and Elephant and Castle, both on the Northern Line, and which are a 15 minute and 20 minute bus ride respectively from Camberwell Green. Other Things to NoteCheck in/out times are very flexible and I am happy to accommodate luggage storage. I very rarely make back to back bookings so there is usually no time pressure. Just check with me in advance. Parking in the road is restricted. However I can obtain visitor's permits, so let me know if you require parking.
