Would you like to be away from the hustle and bustle of central London but still have quick and easy access whenever you like? Then this cosy double bedroom in a luxury apartment located in the award winning development, Royal Arsenal, east of Greenwich is perfect for you. This riverside development spanning 76 acres, is a former munitions factory & storage facility with a history dating back to 1671, that has been tastefully transformed to provide a blend of converted & new build residential properties, together with a central open space, bars, restaurants and shopping facilities. The transport links are excellent too. Woolwich Arsenal station (DLR and mainline), which is in zone 4, is a short 5 minute stroll from the apartment. From there, you can be in central London in as little as 20-30 minutes. London City Airport is just 5 minutes away on the train, and Canary Wharf and Stratford can also be reached in less than 20 minutes. My favorite transport is the Thames Clipper riverbus service which docks right next to the development and provides a boat service to The O2, Greenwich, Canary Wharf, Tower Bridge, Blackfriars, The Southbank (Tate Modern) and beyond. This is one of the best ways to see London in my opinion. For shopping, the town centre, which is 5 minutes walk from the apartment, is unbeatable. It offers an array of main street shopping, including supermarkets and a vibrant street market. As far as leisure is concerned, a short ride in a cab, train or bus will take you to nearby Blackheath, Greenwich or, the O2 - where you will be spoilt for choice in terms of food, drink and nightlife. The room is fully equipped with a double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside table. Clean bed linen and towels are, of course, included. There's a slick kitchen with all the modern conveniences which you are welcome to use. A self-catering breakfast is also included in the price. There are two large designer bathrooms in the property, one of which is available exclusively for guests. The lounge is equipped with a widescreen tv and dvd player. You can also access the huge balcony from here which is especially useful for those warm summer months. Hi-speed WiFi is available throughout the apartment. There's also a 24 hour concierge service available. I have lived in London for over 12 years and I look forward to showing you how real Londoners live. If the dates you are interested in are unavailable, please ask as there are 2 rooms available. I would appreciate a filled out profile and photo from you when making an inquiry. Thanks!

The SpaceA wonderful maisonette on a tranquil, leafy street in Blackheath with a quaint old church at the end of it. Your room has a lovely view and is relaxing and peaceful. You have full use of a fully equipped kitchen where you can store and cook your food. Guest AccessKitchen, bathroom and living room if they wish Interaction with GuestsI’m a professional photographer and am in and out of the house all the time. I’m only a phone call away if you need me and I’m not at home. The NeighborhoodQuite simply The Blackheath and Royal Borough of Greenwich area is the most beautiful in London. We’re on top of a hill looking out over the Thames. The view from the Royal Observatory (0 degrees latitude – the meridian line) of the river and the city of London beyond is mind blowing. Greenwich Park is where the equestrian events during the London Olympics were held, ancient trees and a small Roman ruin together with the Royal Observatory are just a few of the treasures that make it special. I’m privileged to live here. I literally thank my lucky stars in the morning. Blackheath is a village within the metropolis. Loaded with cool little restaurants and bars. There are none of the international chains here, just bespoke eateries. Greenwich (pronounced Gren’ich) is steeped in royal history. There’s the old Naval College, a wonderful example of Georgian architecture on a grand scale. It was where Admiral Nelson laid in state after his death at the battle of Trafalgar. The Painted Hall where he lay rivals the Cistern Chapel in its magnificence. Before it was a naval establishment it was a royal palace of Henry VIII. The legendary Cutty Sark, a tall, fast tea clipper used to race from Shanghai to London with the first crop of tea which sold for a fortune at auctions back in the 19th century is preserved in dry dock. An hour on board takes you right back in time. Greenwich market is chock full of artisan food, crafts and an astonishing variety of street food from all over the world. I could go on but you’ll have to come here and see it for yourself. Transit into central London is fast and easy with a variety of routes including a fast Thames Clipper boat which stops at the Tower of London, passes under Tower Bridge, The London Eye and Westminster. There’s a 24/7 bus, the number 53, an over ground rail station at Blackheath, the Jubilee line station at North Greenwich, where the O2 Arena is only ten minutes away by bus. I live on a tranquil tree-lined street with a quaint church at the end of it. There are shops nearby and a wonderful pub, the Royal Standard, which serves excellent food. (URL HIDDEN) (URL HIDDEN) (URL HIDDEN) (URL HIDDEN) Getting AroundThe quickest and easiest route into central London is to walk around the corner (five minutes), take a number 108 or 422 bus (ten minutes) to North Greenwich (Jubilee Line) tube station, then head into town (about twenty minutes). There are several stops including Westminster, Waterloo and London Bridge where you can either alight or change onto other tube lines. Blackheath over-ground station is a lovely fifteen minute walk from home across the Black Heath (an historic open ground from which the village derives its name). You can connect with The Tube (underground) at London Bridge (10 mins), Victoria (20 mins), Charring Cross (15 mins). Charring Cross is the official centre of London (where all the old mile stones where measured from). It’s essentially Trafalgar Square. The No.53 bus runs twenty four hours per day from Blackheath (Vanbrugh Park/Beaconsfield Road) to Trafalgar Square and Westminster. This is best used late at night if you’ve missed the last train home as during the day it gets stuck in traffic. At night it flies through the city in about fifteen minutes. Onsite during your stay will also be individuals to assist you with questions about our home or London. The NeighborhoodAccording to English Heritage's, Survey of London, 'the Royal Arsenal is among Britain's most important historic sites.' The development is a mix of historic structures dating back to the 18th Century and award winning new buildings. Art and artifacts are sprinkled throughout the development and a river walk runs the length of the development in front of the Thames. Our home overlooks the Thames River and many of the Grade II Listed buildings in the heritage quarter. Our building was used to store military provisions and was built in the 19th century. Over the centuries, the Royal Arsenal has influenced the unfolding of world history. For Americans, "the rockets red glare, the bombs bursting in air," came from the Royal Arsenal.
