The SpaceThe guest room on offer in this particular listing is called "The Unicorn room", in reference to a French art work on prominent display in this room. This room it particular quite because at the back of flat, windows towards the green inner courtyard and has a proper bed with a comfortable mattress (160cm wide) which comfortably sleeps 2 people. It has its own private ensuite bathroom with bathtub, decorated with stunning Italian travertine marble. The other guest room available in a second Airbnb listing is called "The Paradise room", which references the hummingbird pattern on the Osborn & Little wallpaper in this room. It is otherwise used as my library and room for study. That room has a great totally comfortable and recently upholstered sofa bed (165cm wide) which comfortably sleeps 2 people. It has access to a balcony facing East, so the sun may wake you in the morning unless you close the fuchsia colored silk curtains which immerses the room an incredible warm glow in the morning. With those 2 rooms combined, I can host up to 4 people in separate rooms and beds, as long as both of them are still available. The literal center piece of the apartment is a 40sqm living kitchen with balcony to cook, eat, meet other guest and myself and hang out. Everything turns around this central space from where all other rooms are accessible, it"s like a central hub from where people can depart into all directions. Accessible from there through large sliding doors is a 34 sqm living room with stunning 100year old wooden floor panels and beautiful ceiling stucco. That space is generally shared across all guests, myself and my dog. Great space to relax on the sofa, listen to music, read a book or watch a good film. My apartment is a unique mix of old Berlin architecture combined with the feeling of an airy loft space with great perspectives and fluid access from one room into the next. It is uniquely decorated, certainly no cup of tea for purists, minimalists and mainstream taste but rather those individuals who can appreciate colors, art and an eclectic approach to interior design. It combines the charming features of a upper middle class turn-of-century Berlin "Altbau" with plaster decoration on the ceiling, old wooden floors with modern features such as 2 newly renovated bathrooms, central heating, Bose dolby-surround system in multiple rooms etc. Above all, it is the colorful ensemble of beautiful objects and stylistic features lends my place its fascinating character that make my guest's stay unforgettable. Guest AccessI like my guests to feel at home away from home. With that, there are no limits to communal areas and rooms they can access or use, as long as they keep them clean and ready for use by others. I appreciate if guests are not hiding in their room and keeping to themselves but I do encourage them to share the public spaces. On the same note, I expect that guests do not regard their room as their private property and accept that I may have to access the room to get some things or use it while they are not using it themselves. I am looking at this more than a shared flat with temporary guests than a hotel where people check in, do their thing and check out. Of course, mutual respect and trust is the basis for this kind of openness which is both granted by myself as well as expected from my guests. Interaction with GuestsThe level of interaction with my guests generally depends on a range of different factors such as my guest's travel plans, my own work and social calendar how much interaction we will have. Generally speaking, I do find the social dimension of AirBnB at least equally attractive as the financial award as a host. Therefore, I do not like guests to treat me as an employee in a hotel that will do the check-in and check-out but would like to remind everyone that for whatever limited time we have, we are sharing together this space, with me included. Interaction and communication between us make these moments much more valuable and interesting for both myself and my guests. I greatly enjoy sharing with my guests my story, my view of Berlin, favorite places, clubs, art venues, cafes, neighborhoods and the reasons why I love this city more than any other. The fascinating thing for me is this: I always learn something new from my guests that I did not know, experienced or paid attention to! If the opportunity comes up, I like to go out with some guests for dinner or drinks. \ However it's also not an issue if there are times where my guests prefer to have their peace and want be left alone. Everyone is different and I see my role as a host to be sensitive to my guest"s different personal preferences. The NeighborhoodI absolutely adore my neighborhood Treptow! It's super green, safe and quiet with the park and the small lake just across the street, you can walk to river Spree across the park. At the same time, it"s really close to all the happening areas, Kreuzberg, Neukölln and Friedrichshain. If you don"t want to walk there or take a taxi, feel free to use my bicyles to get around! Getting AroundMy place is conveniently located to public transport: closest S-bahn station is "Treptower Park" on the ring (circle) train 10min leisurely walk through the park and bus stop just outside of the house. Other Things to NoteOne important reminder at this point: I am a dog lover and my adorable dog Luna lives me in my flat. I do not believe that dogs are in any way unhygienic, at least not more than humans. It is unavoidable despite all efforts to clean and hover the flat that there will be places where you spot dog hair. If that is something that bothers or concerns you, I recommend looking for alternative options.

The SpaceFully equipped kitchen with balcony overlooking the east. Dining table inside as well as deck chairs on the balcony to enjoy warmer summer nights. Two bikes are available for rent to discover the city for €5 euro per day plus a €50 deposit (per bike.) Guest AccessIhr könnt in der Küche alles nutzen was ihr wollt und im Zimmer selbstverständlich auch. Interaction with GuestsIf you have any questions about the interesting areas of Berlin or want to know where to discover the non-touristy places, I'm always happy to give my recommendations. The NeighborhoodThe location is prime, right in the heart of the popular Berlin suburb of Neukölln. Sandwiched between the two famous party districts Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg; you have a huge variety of bars and clubs to choose from, are walking distance from the canals and the beautiful Treptower Park by the Spree River with a bier garten that is a wonderful place to relax in summer, and the bussling Weserstraße is also just a 7 minute walk and offers many bars, restaurants and cafes. Chalet, Club De Visionare and IPSE are all located within walking distance of the apartment (or a short bus ride) if you're keen to experience Berlin's pulsating nightlife. It has two balconies, a bathroom, kitchen and two rooms (one for rent.) The SpaceWelcome to my home! :-) I have to offer two very nice 18sqm rooms in an appartment with appr. 60sqm! Most of the time there is one room used by me or by my flatmate, that means you are getting a private room for your own (usually it's the one with the books and the big double-bed in it) while sharing bathroom, kitchen and balcony. If both of us (my flatmate and me) are away, you have the complete flat for your own. :-) The flat is equipped with everything you need for your everyday-life. We also have free WIFI in the complete appartment. Your room has an awesome cozy 1,60m-bed which is perfect for two people or for one person, who likes to have a lot of space while sleeping. :-) The rooms are always cleaned before your arrival and both have enough space for your stuff. Very important: The flat is a non-smoking flat. That means you won't get disturbed by a bad smell to any time. For smokers I can only offer the balcony. ;-) I'm really looking forward to hear from you and would love to have you as my new guest! Best regards, Christoph ## PLEASE NOTICE: I DON'T TAKE ANY CLEANING-FEE AS USUAL - THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE DAILY PRICE ## Guest AccessYou have access to everything in the flat, balcony, bathroom, kitchen and you are very welcome to cook etc.! Please feel free to use all our kitchen equipment! Interaction with GuestsWe're both 29 years old, kind of busy most of the time but still very sociable. :-) I am a German teacher and editor and right now I'm working at a newspaper, Matteo is a handsome PhD student, kind and probably the best flatmate I ever had. Of course we have the best food, party and sightseeing recommendations for you here! :-) The NeighborhoodThe neighbourhood is also perfect for somebody who is looking for a quiet place to sleep while being within walking distance to Kreuzberg, Neukölln or Friedrichshain - the hippest, youngest and maybe most interesting spots of Berlin! Kreuzberg by foot will take you 10 minutes, Neukölln 1 minute and Friedrichshain 10 minutes. There are also many busses right next to the flat (1 minute walking distance) and the S-Bahn-station "Treptower Park" (10 minutes walking distance), where you have the "Ringbahn" and some other trains, that will take you around the city. Other Things to NotePLEASE NOTICE BEFORE BOOKING! Always contact me before making a booking! I am not a hotel and I can't accept bookings without any information about you as I am a private person with a private room and belongings that I share with you and entrust you. Please let me at least know who you are, what you do etc. (actually I think this is an obvious part of being polite as you have my references, pictures and contact details – so please, just give me a few sentences about you. I'm curious who you are!) :-)

The SpaceWelcome to my nice and quiet flat near to the Maybachufer, in Kreuzkölln, the Neukölln/Kreuzberg-Border. The flat has some kind of a typical lo-fi-style to it, so it is authentic and maybe a bit shabby. But it offers everything you could expect: Of course you have proper heating, WiFi-Internet and green electricity. During summer you can use a very windy ventilator. The livingroom is a bit more furnished than on the pictures: You'll have a comfortable double bed, 2 writing desks (one of them is kinda occupied) and a big flatscreen-TV with BluRay-Player. And of course there are curtains on the windows by now. The kitchen is very narrow, but fully equipped incl. stove/oven, fridge, coffee machine (and free coffee), microwave, toaster, dishwasher, washing mashine and laundry dryer. Right now a little folding table is installed for you in the kitchen, to eat your dinner. I know this is a bit dull, but there is no big dining table available in this small appartment. The bathroom is narrow too, but it has a shower and a window. You'll have fresh towels and linen if you need any. And of course you can use my turbo-vacuum-cleaner, my hair-dryer, my shampoo and everything in the kitchen (oils, spices etc.). You can also choose any DVD from my bookshelve to watch. if you want to have some chill-out-hours (some Woody Allen, David Lynch, Roman Polanski and other stuff... even "Spacecop L.A. 1991") And you are allowed to smoke! ;) Guest AccessYou'll receive 1 key to the flat and 1 key for the house. Interaction with GuestsYou can always contact me if you have questions or problems. The NeighborhoodSomewhere below on this page there should be a map where I already pointed out some recommendations. ;) You'd live near to the water, at the "Landwehrkanal"/ "Maybachufer" / "Kiehlufer". At the "Maybachufer" you have the "Nowkölln Flowmarkt" (a sophisticated fleamarket) and the "Stoffmarkt", the "Turkish Market" and the "Wochenmarkt" and... At least 3 different nice markets every week with art, textiles and food. A lot of people say "Kreuzkölln" is one of the most interesting places of Berlin. Obviously Neukölln lost its bad reputation it had about 10-15 years ago. Your neighbourhood offers a lot of cool bars, some nice restaurants, small galleries and clubs ("Loftus Hall", "Bertrams" and the lovely but small "Herz" are a few footsteps around the corner). But you still won't be overrun by party-crowds when you leave the house (you have to walk 5 minutes to experience this on weekends). I like that it still looks and feels genuine, improvised, maybe a bit rough and trashy and I really enjoy the variety of people living here. All in all Kreuzkölln feels very international and open-minded. You have to visit this area now before it maybe finally transforms into something else through gentrification, a process which already started big time. FROM HERE TO THERE: Maybachufer / Landwehrkanal / Paul-Lincke-Ufer: 5-10 minutes per foot Alt-Treptow (former East Berlin): 5 minutes per foot Next supermarket: 7 minutes per foot Weserstrasse (Bars, Bars, Bars): 5 minutes per foot Sonnenallee: the street: 7-10 minutes per foot. the s-bahn-station: ca. 15-20 minutes (per foot & bus) Görlitzer Park / Skalitzer Straße: If you go by bike you can reach this part of "Downtown Kreuzberg" in minutes, approx. 10-15. Treptower Park / Lollapalooza 2016: You can reach this really huge (!!!) and beautiful park directly at the Spree (incl. a nice little island and a closed and decaying amusement-fair) within 10 minutes via Bus. At Treptower Park you can enter the "Ringbahn" (S-Bahn-Station). The "Lollapalooza"-Festival will take place somewhere inside the Treptower Park this year (in September, feat. Radiohead). Karl-Marx-Strasse: In 10 Minutes you can reach the shopping-mall "Neukölln Arcaden" and the subway-station "Rathaus Neukölln" (by foot) Hermannplatz (Subways to nearly everywhere): per foot ca. 15-20 minutes, per Bus less than 10 Friedrichshain/Ostkreuz: From a Busstation 3 Minutes away you'll need 10-15 minutes to clubs like "Zur wilden Renate" or "about:blank" and the trainstation "Ostkreuz". From Ostkreuz you only have to walk over a bridge and a few minutes to "Boxhagener Platz" / "Simon-Dach-Strasse". And the "Ostkreuz" also has a direct train-connection to "Ostbahnhof" or "Warschauer Strasse", "Hauptbahnhof" and "Hackescher Markt". Berghain: 20-35 minutes (via shortest way by bike or by bus/train) Kottbusser Tor: 10-15 minutes via bike Tempelhofer Feld: Former airport, huge park, Lollapalooza 2015: ca. 15-20 minutes per bike Berlin Festival / Arena Berlin: The "Berlin Festival" moved its stages into several clubs near to the Spree: You can reach "Arena", "Badeschiff", "Club der Visionäre", "Ipse" etc. within 10 minutes per bike, a beautiful ride along the canal. Berlinale / Potsdamer Platz: Bus-Stop "Fuldastr." is only 5 minutes away. You have a direct connection to "Potsdamer Platz" via Bus M41. Every 5-10 minutes. Getting AroundThe next bus station is 3 minutes away. From Sonnenallee a bus is driving directly to Hauptbahnhof (every 10 minutes). A direct bus-connection from the airport "Schönefeld" stops at a busstation close by. You can easily get to Hermannplatz and Schönleinstrasse from where you can reach almost any destination via subway (like Mitte, Kreuzberg, Wedding, Schöneberg, Charlottenburg, Kurfürstendamm, Spandau etc.) Only ca. 15 minutes away is one of the docks from where you can start a beautiful boat-trip along the Spree and through the Landwehrkanal. You can get off wherever you want or you take the full 3h-tour and return to where you started.

The SpaceSince it is the top floor, it is extremely bright and sunny but all windows also have black out shutters so the bedroom can be dark as well. It is the quietest apartment I have ever lived in! It is also one of the more interesting apartments I've seen in Berlin-it has a cozy wood ceiling and beams, slanted ceilings in parts, a skylight over looking the kitchen/hallway, wood floors, and a very large terrace with double doors. The bathroom has both a bath tub and a shower and is all new. The bedroom has a double bed, wardrobe, desk. The large living room/kitchen is open plan. We have lots of nice couches and chairs and a projector, another desk. There is also an electronic full size piano and keyboards. The kitchen has stove, fridge, large kitchen counter with stools, and a washing machine. Of course there is internet as well. Interaction with GuestsWe would like to meet whoever stays here before the 1st of May, just to explain some things in the apartment and hand the keys. The NeighborhoodThere are five major grocery stores all within 10 minutes walk in any direction-Real, Edeka, Rewe, Aldi, and Netto. Neukölln and Kreuzberg are just a walk/bike/bus ride away, so it easy to get to nice places to eat, the canal, markets, etc. It is also a 10 minute walk to Treptower Park, which is really nice and has a river AND a lake, the Soviet Memorial, etc. Getting Around1 minute walk from bus stop with multiple busses going to Kreuzberg/Neukolln/Friedrichshain, 8 minute walk from S-Bahn station Other Things to NoteMust be a cat lover! All food/litter, etc will be provided, but they will need their litter box cleaned daily, food, and cuddles. Because of this, the price is already discounted.

The SpaceFunny, quirky maisonette located in the very funky and cool district of Kreuzberg. You will have a double bedroom to yourself. There is a communal living room with guitars to play and books to read. If I am around I will cook a yummy feast if you so desire! There is a shower, but no bath. There is always coffee, tea and fruit for you to help yourself. There are an abundance of very nice cafes, art galleries and very very tasty restaurants on the street and beyond. For partying and clubbing it is perfect. 1 minute walk from Watergate, and club de Visionnair, 30 minute walk to the famous Berghein and Panarama bar. For history and culture it is also very good. 1 minute walk from the beautiful Oberbaum brucke, across from which there is the East side gallery. Very easy to get to Mitte on the U-bahn which is at the end of the road. There are many markets close by. Paul-inke Ufe is a 10 minute walk You'll never be short of things to do. It is in the "hinter house" so it's fairly quiet at night time. A few things to be aware of, it is a maisonette with stairs in the apartment to get to the bedroom. This is fine if you are young and agile. It can be tricky at night if you are not so well coordinated. The apartment is perfect for a couple, but the couch is really comfy too and I have no problem with extra people staying. There is a smaller bedroom where I usually stay when there are guests. E-mail me if you have any questions.

Please note : I have an active and busy lifestyle ;), This means that I'm sometimes not in the flat for a little while during the day or the evening, but I'm never very far away and always reachable at any time for my guests. I speak French, English and German. The NeighborhoodThe flat is exactly located between the most lively and trendy areas in Berlin : Kreuzberg, Neukölln and Friedrichshain. You can find at 500m of the flat an organic supermarket and 3 regulars supermarkets and a mini mall with a post office and a bank. 15 minutes walk from Skalitzer Strasse where you can find one of the greatest restaurants, bars and club scene. 5 minutes till the great Treptower Park. Getting AroundYou can reach the flat by train : station Treptower Park (on the ring) or by bus lines 104, 167 or 194. I would advice to rent a bike for visiting Berlin. That's the nicer and the most environmental friendly way :) Other Things to NoteRegarding Parking : possibilities to park for free in front of the house or around. You just have to be lucky ;)

The SpaceThe charming little apartment is in a prime location in Kreuzberg, right next to the Schlesiches Tor U-Bahn station and to the Gorlizter Park. The loft is small but comfy with everything you need to enjoy your stay. In a authentic berliner Altgebäude with a quaint courtyard view and beautiful wooden floor. The flat is ideal for 2 people. Don't be scared by the staircase, the nice sunlight and calm back yard make it worth climbing up to the 5th floor. The pantry kitchen is well equipped with a stove, refrigerator, washing machine and utensils. The neighborhood is one of Berlin's most prime locations. Walking/biking distance from great tourist spots like Görlitzer Park, East Side Gallery and Oberbaumbrucke, Treptower Park... many restaurants and cafes right next door and great bars and clubs to choose from. Although right in Berlin's hot spot, the flat is still very quiet, since it's in the back building and has a view to a very calm courtyard and is located on a smaller and more pedestrian street. A great spot to explore Kreuzberg's charm, be a stroll down the Maybachufer canal or a day at the park :) Depending on the day, I can meet you an take you for a quick tour in the neighborhood and give you some insider tips! Kreuzberg is simple my favorite neighborhood in Berlin. Charming and quaint, with a small town feel and at the same time has the best nightlife with many bars and clubs. I rarely leave this area, I have everything I need here in walking/biking distance. Close by is the Schlesiches Tor U-Bahn station (metro) with the U1 line. There are also buses (including night bus for those who also want to party during the week) and the Warschauerstr. S-Bahn station and Ring Bahn station (city trains) also relatively close by. Very convenient location!
