The SpaceThis house is simple and rustic , we tried to keep intact the real feeling and fascination of an old mountain house, yet give it all the modern comforts: the kitchen is well equipe, there is wifi and tv.
On the ground floor are the living area, taken over by the big, charming fireplace and its cute little norwegian wood stove; the kitchen is spacious and has all the necessary household appliances, includig a the dishwasher, a boiler, and so on.
On the first floor are the first bedroom with two separated beds, a wardrobe and a bathroom with shower.
On the second floor are the master bedroom with a double bed, wardrobes and a second bathroom with a bathtub.
Linen will be provided for beds, bathrooms and kitchen.
It is very important for you to know that the stairs connecting the different floors are very steep and may create some inconveniece: please check the photos provided.
Next to the entrance is available a ski deposit -or a general deposit for bikes- and on the other side is the parking space. As this is shared with the host, we kindly ask you a little collaboration in sharing the space. J
There’s an outdoor space that in summer can be used as a dining area or with deckchairs for sunbathing.
The house is mainly heated through heaters, but a wood stove has been added to provide further comfort and a very cozy atmosphere. Don’t worry, we will provide the wood for free.
As the hot water comes from two boilers, we advise you to take relatively short showers or there won’t be enough water for everyone in the house.
We’d like to remind you once more that the stairs are rather steep and may create some difficulties.
Please have a look at the pictures and don’t hesitate to contact us for any question you may have.
There will be a small welcome … for our guests first morning.
As we are in the mountains, when it snows the main access road is cleaned by the public snowplow, but our driveway to the garage isn’t. It may be necessary to shovel the snow to move the car, though we will do our best to avoid you this inconveniece. Guest AccessIn the village there is a small market selling all the basics and a few restaurants, but the main town Courmayeur is only 3km away, whilst if you’d like to take a day trip to France with the Mont Blanc Tunnel it will take you only 15 minutes to get to the charming french town of Chamonix.
If you’d rather stay in the surroundings there are two main valleys to enjoy: the first is Val Ferret, 10 minutes away from our place, where you can go hiking, cycling, climbing, mountaineering, cross-country skiing, golfing and many more exciting outdoor activities; the other is the Val Veny, about 20 minutes away from the house, a bit wilder than Val Ferret and where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Mont Blanc Massif. In winter though, this valley is accessible only by foot or by ski.
Last but not least, about 20 minutes away are the renowned Pré Saint Didier thermae. Interaction with GuestsWe live in the house next door and are available in case of any necessity. Please do not hesitate to call us or knock at our door, we would be pleased to help you and even suggest the best places for most of outdoor activities, that we ourselves practice.
