maintained park about 300m away, Villa Fiorelli, which is the lifeline of the
neighborhood. You can find all the locals there every afternoon with their
families, friends and pets. Everything you could need is within less than 5
minutes walking distance such pharmacies, coffee bars/ cafes, supermarkets, bakeries, “tabacchi”,“casalinghi” and “gelaterie” banks, post offices, a fishmarket and a farmer’s market. Whatever you need, it’s around the corner! Right below our house is an amazing, rustic Roman “Osteria” La Foglietta, which is one of our favorites. Down the street there’s a pizzeria/pub “Quei Bravi Ragazzi” that has great cocktails/aperitivo and next to it a delicious fusion Thai/Malaysian
restaurant. Also on via Taranto one of Rome’s most popular Chinese
restaurants. Right around the corner there is a popular wine and jazz club “28 Divino Jazz Club”. If you’re craving American food, there is a great burger joint “Burpee” in piazza Lodi, about 500m away. One of our most frequented spots is “Hopificio” off of Via Appia Nuova (15 min walking), a hip craft brewery with a fantastic happy hour and typical roman snacks. For more a popular, alternative scene the quartiere “Pigneto” is no more than 15min walking, filled with cool restaurants, breweries and shops. Via Appia Nuova is less than 700m away, where you can find all kinds of shops for an afternoon (or day) of shopping! One of Rome’s 5 Basilica’s, San Giovanni, is also less than 1km away. Getting AroundThe neighborhood is very connected to the rest of city, having numerous bus stops, a train station that goes directly to Trastevere, Tiburtina and Fiumicino. It is also very near the Metro line A, Ponte Lungo, Re di Roma and/or San Giovanni which can connect you to all of Rome’s hottest spots and tourist attractions.
Surprisingly enough, there is very little noise pollution and the area is quite calm and quiet with very friendly locals!
