The SpaceHOW CENTRAL? This flat is in Zone 1. London’s official centre! The flat is closer to Edgware Road than shown on the map. We’re located between two completely contrasting neighbourhoods: The busy Edgware Road, where you can get the freshest, best kebabs at any time of night or shop for bargain fruit and veg, at a real London street Market and sample real street food (as opposed to expensive Hipster Street food). Walk in the opposite direction and you’ll find: Little Venice prettily perched on Regents Canal (and part of a wonderful canal walk), Little Venice is home to London’s chattering classes. This place is a wonderful crossroads and a great place to explore London from for the curious. TRAIN PLANE COACH? This place is pretty convenient from wherever you land in London. Paddington is a twenty minute walk away, or super quick bus ride. So perfect is you arrive from Heathrow or have been visiting Bristol, Oxford, Cornwall (etc). If you come from Stansted or Luton get off at Marble Arch or Baker street, and it’s a very very short bus/underground ride. King’s Cross/St. Pancreas also a short ride away on the underground (Eurostar) as is Victoria (Gatwick). TUBE BUS BIKE? I think a real plus point is that there is an Oysterbike stand literally 2 minutes from the flat, which means you can travel for free by bike round central London! (Oyster bike stands are only found in the centre). 3 mins away are a couple of bus stops with many, many bus routes, also a cheap way to travel though not free! But if you want to spend top dollar on your transport, but admittedly get there faster then there are 3 tube station nearby the nearest is 8 mins walk away the furthest 15, and you have 4 lines to take far and wide. ICONIC LONDON? There are so many ‘must see/must do things’ - but just to get your bearings... Regents Park is 15 minutes walk away and Hyde Park/Marble Arch are a good 25 mins by foot. You could be in Baker Street in about 15-20 mins and the same for Notting Hill, home of the movie, the carnival and Portobello Road. For most of the major galleries I think you’d be there is 20-30 minutes and if you want to explore East London it will take a bit Longer. Considering London is such a great vast city (with 6 travel Zones) - you have everything on your doorstep. HOW NICE IS THE FLAT? In a word ‘Very’. I’ve done the photos myself, partly because I think it’s important that photos are representative. What you see is what you get. By London standards this is a spacious one bedroom, the flat is 50m2 and it comfortably sleeps 4, with two on a very comfortable sofa bed. This place is a home so I think you’ll find all the furnishings comfortable and functional. You’ll find everything you need from washing powder to olive oil, a hair dryer and an ironing board (and maybe even a fancy juice in the fridge). ME? I’m a Londoner born and bred and I still love exploring this city: Coffee, food, cocktails and a fancy glass of wine are my weaknesses. So if that is your thing, I am truly and oasis of information! Guest AccessYou will have the whole flat to your disposal, nothing is shared or off limits. Interaction with GuestsI basically meet you when you check in - show you the flat, and give you all the info you need, and that's it - when you check out you just leave the keys in the flat and close the door behind you. But if you need anything I'm just at the end of a phone/email/text.

Getting AroundTravel Advice: Buy an Oyster card FOR ZONE 1&2 ONLY as soon as you land from any tube/train station (Pay for the extra zone to come in and out of the airport separately) . It is much cheaper to do this. Car: Best not bring a car to London as it is difficult to find parking and is expensive for parking and payment of the Congestion Zone ((SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) this to know more about it). Best to leave the car on the outskirt of the city and travel in. Other Things to NoteTO GET HERE: From Heathrow: you can get a taxi, or the Heathrow express train to Paddington and then the tube (or taxi) to Maida Vale station from there : ) From Luton & Stansted: you can get the train to Kings cross and the tube to Maida Vale station from there....or check the nearest easybus stop. From Gawick: you can get the Gatwick express train to Victoria and then the tube to Maida Vale station from Victoria....or check the nearest easybus stop. Maida Vale is a really special place in the centre of London with canals, boulevard streets with hanging flower baskets etc. that feels like a village in the centre of the city!

It is incomparable to anywhere else in London and unbelievably central : you're just a few streets from the excitement of central London. London tourist guides pick out Little Venice as one of the very best areas in the city for those who like a picturesque stroll or a meal/drink at one of the nearby canalside restaurants during the day or evening The neighbourhood is quiet and peaceful with its magnificent waterways and stunning views (Prince Charles recently cited the architecture as the UK's finest). You can walk to central London's Oxford street through Regents Park and a beautiful journey of canals and waterways as a lovely alternative to the metro and bus. You can catch a canal boat to travel from Little Venice to Regents Park, the zoo and the world famous Camden market. Abbey Road (famous for the world famous Beatles front cover) is very near.. You're neighbours with ultra trendy Notting Hill and Portobello road but you won't have any of the downsides (noise/pollution/overrun by millions of tourists)..

City meets country In Maida Vale there’s a lull in London’s bustle – pretty period terraces back onto green spaces, and the banks of the Thames are lined with trees. And this all adds to the character of Warrington Crescent V, where white walls and wood floors have a fresh, bright feel. Pastel-toned armchairs and nature-inspired artworks complete the impression, while a seat at the dining table or on the sitting room’s tweed sofa affords a view of the bucolic surroundings. The quiet life Your hosts, a lawyer and a retired music industry executive, enjoy London’s vibrant culture but are also keen on more restful recreations. They love the tranquillity of Maida Vale, and have designed their London home to echo the area’s sense of calm. Polished pastoral It’s not all country-inspired pleasantries inside Warrington Crescent V – you’ll find elements of the city’s sleekness too. The airy kitchen’s glossy fittings are ultra-modern, and both the sparkling bathrooms are just as contemporary. Even the double bedroom, with its simple Picasso print and serene garden view, has a neat desk equipped with an Apple Mac computer (which you’re welcome to use). And the independent shops and smart restaurants of Maida Vale mean that it’s also packed with urban pleasures, while Notting Hill is just a short walk away when you’re ready for the crowds. Super stylish and comfortable apartment in one of the most exclusive and well located areas of London. We will be meeting the guests at the apartment and personally checking them in and out. London area of Maida Vale guide The peaceful boulevards of Maida Vale seem to belong in a different, less crowded city than the rest of London, children can play in the street without fear of traffic. The most famous of these streets is Abbey Road, where the Beatles recorded their later albums, and took the photo for one of the iconic album covers of the twentieth century. The southern end of the neighbourhood is marked by Regent's Canal and the area known as Little Venice, where a huge community of houseboats form their own hippy village in the midst of some of London's most desirable property. Keep going south and you'll reach Queensway and Paddington. Peppered with local bars and cafes, this reserved neighbourhood is better for swirling cocktails than swigging beers after (or before) a commute to central London. The journey is easy enough—Maida Vale has its own tube station.
