The SpaceOur flat is 1 minute from Dalston Junction Station (just across the pedestrianised square) with quick transport links to all the important tourist and business areas. This flat is so central (just 3 stops from King's Cross International) that you can often take the bus to places such as Covent Garden, Bank and Waterloo; this is the reason Dalston and Islington have become so popular with people working in the city.
We are situated in a stylish new development on pedestrianised Dalston Square at the borders of Dalston/Islington, surrounded by old markets, period properties, fancy new restaurants, wonderful independent cafes with quality coffee, and great pubs which have been around for decades.
Our generously sized 150 sqare metre or 1600 sqare feet maisonette/duplex apartment is on the eighth and ninth floors with two lifts/elevators and a 24 hr. concierge. The two floors within the property leading from one level to the next give this apartment the feel of a house, offering a level of privacy and space rarely found in London. The first level has an open-plan kitchen and lounge area with two sets of sliding doors leading out to a double-height wintergarden; it is flooded with light as it is fronted by a large fully-glazed double-height wintergarden with wooden decking; the windows across can be fully opened in summer, but offer protection from wind and rain in the winter.
Our furniture and wallpaper is carefully chosen from top designers and stores such as Heal's, Lombok, Eames, antique Japanese screens, hand-carved silver mirrors. We have given great attention to the quality of our solid wood beds and pocket-sprung mattresses. The TV is a 48" Samsung smart 4K TV. Guest AccessThere are 4 large bedrooms, 3 Bathrooms, 2 enclosed balconies/conservatories with seating, 1 communal roof terrace, 1 open-plan lounge and kitchen, 2 sets of keys, 2 lifts/elevators.
The flat will sleep 8 friends/family members very comfortably on real beds, or 4 work colleagues each with their own bedroom. This is good value for London - many places which claim to house 6-8 people will only do so on sofa beds and in lounges, where space and privacy becomes an issue. Not with us. All beds are REAL beds on quality 2000 pocket sprung mattresses with natural fillings like wool and cashmere, topped with mattress protectors, solid wood slats underneath and stable solid wood frames, mattress protectors and 100% cotton bedding from designers such as Sheridan.
On the ninth floor down the hall is a communal roof terrace with great views. You do not need a key to access it - just walk out of the 9th floor and walk down the hallway.

Interaction with GuestsI am always available on airbnb messaging for any questions, no matter how minor, and will answer as soon as possible. Any urgent matters can be dealt with by phoning me. If I am out of town, I will give you the phone number of one of my cleaners (I have known them for years and they are great). Keys are handled either by the cleaners or by the concierge as this allows you greater flexibility in picking up the keys, even in the middle of the night, and you never have to start your holiday feeling stressed simply because your plane was late. We really try to give you the feeling that you are in your London home, and that you are welcome and appreciated. The NeighborhoodWe are located in the thriving community of Dalston on the borders of Hackney and Islington - there are colourful East London markets, amazing cafes, quick connections to all the tourist sights of London, jazz bars and fringe theaters at your doorstep. If you want to experience the diversity and vibrancy of the real London, a place where London professionals and families and young creatives live - Dalston is your best bet. It is honestly one of the most interesting boroughs in London; recent gentrification has taken the edges off and given us some top quality restaurants and cafes.
Dalston Square is a peaceful setting above a pedestrianised square moments away from the trendy Arcola Theatre and Bar, Vortex Jazz Bar, Cafe Route, Pond, Cafe Oto, Birthdays, Passing Clouds, Dalston Superstore, Dalston Roof Gardens, Rotorino, Hunters, The Talbot, The Scolt's Head, Farr's School of Dance (a pub), Pond (Hawaiian food and rather trendy; close to the Vortex). Nearby markets are Ridley Road Market (fruite and veg almost daily), Broadway Market (Saturday mornings - truly wonderful with great stalls and food), Columbia Flower Market (Sundays - colourful and extremely full), Brick Lane Market (Sundays), Spitalfields (daily) - the area has changed enormously over the last decade and many famous designers, comedians and artists live here. Getting AroundThe transport links are amazing. Dalston Junction Overground station is almost on your doorstop!! Dalston Junction Overground north will take you to Highbury and Islington in two stops, from which you can change to the Victoria Line which takes you in a swift diagonal through the city - King's Cross in one stop, Oxford Circus in four stops.
