The SpaceI am offering a large spacious, double room in my family home - a Victorian house, located in a residential area on the outskirts of London. The house throughout is very clean and bright. The room is on the 1st floor and contains a double bed, wardrobe, chests of drawers, a desk and chair and plenty of storage. There is a 32" flatscreen TV and an iPad available for use in the room - allowing you to watch TV, iPlayer, movies and listen to music or the radio. There are also tea & coffee making facilities available in your room. The room is designed for two people, sharing the double bed - however we can accommodate three people by use of a good quality camp bed, which we will provide. For our younger guests there is also a travel cot and mattress available for use - please let us know if you need it! The large, shared bathroom is just along the landing (the bathroom is only shared with our nine year old daughter, so you have it to yourself most of the time - it's for your use only in the mornings!). Guest AccessThe main rooms you have access to are the bedroom and the bathroom on the same floor (as detailed above). You're also welcome to use the kitchen to make tea, coffee and for the preparation of light snacks and meals. However, be warned - the fridge is quite small so please keep this in mind if you would like to store anything! Also in the kitchen is our computer with attached printer, which you're welcome to use if you need to check your email, or print street maps, directions or flight boarding passes etc. Interaction with GuestsOne of us will be there to welcome you to our home on your arrival and show you where everything is, how it works, and to answer any questions you may have. The family is around most evenings, so join us for a coffee and a chat if you’re around. This is a warm, family environment and we want to make all our guests feel welcome - we’ll all be living together during your stay, but our aim is to make your time with us as comfortable as possible. This is a bi-lingual house (Spanish and English), so we can offer extra support to some international visitors! We also have a small dog in the house - a Maltese terrier called Holly, who will welcome you to the house. She is quiet, well behaved and lives downstairs, so shouldn't affect your stay at all! The NeighborhoodWe are located in Kingston, a leafy suburban town in Surrey ideally located for Hampton Court Palace, Richmond, Wimbledon, Twickenham Rugby Stadium, Sandown Park and Kempton Park Racecourse. We are also a great base for anyone coming to see the tennis at Wimbledon - just a short train ride away, with three stations within walking distance of the house. Getting AroundFor those coming to experience the centre of London, the house is only a short distance from Surbiton (approximately a 4 minute drive / 20 minute walk), Kingston (4 min drive / 14 min walk) and Norbiton (5 min drive / 17 min walk) train stations (Zone 5/6) and trains are very frequent into the centre of London (the quickest train from Waterloo station takes 17 minutes to Surbiton). There is also a bus stop nearby where regular buses can take you to Surbiton station, if you don't feel like walking! We are very near the River Thames with all of it's amenities - go for a walk beside the river, try the boat trips into London/Richmond and Hampton Court, or get a bus from Kingston to visit nearby Kew Gardens. We also have the benefit of plenty of green space nearby, with two Royal Parks - Bushy Park and Richmond Park - close by. Kingston upon Thames is a thriving town with a beautiful old market and one of the best shopping areas outside central London, only a 10 minute walk from the front door. Kingston also has many great restaurants and pubs and bars, should you want to eat out during your stay - we're happy to recommend our favourites! We're also within walking distance of many of Kingston's office buildings, if you are coming to stay with us for work - only a five minute walk from the offices of VSO, Bausch + Lomb (Valeant), Wolters Kluwer, Travel Republic, Unilever and more. Other Things to NoteBed linen and towels are provided. Wireless internet is included. Children are welcome, and can sleep on an extra bed in the large bedroom, for an extra charge - let us know what you need in advance and we'll work out the details! We don't have off street parking, but can provide parking permits for a small cost (£3 per full day). There is a cleaning fee of £10.00 per booking if less than a week, or £10.00 per week if longer. Finally, the room does face on to a road and so there can be a little traffic noise, but no more than expected from anywhere in Greater London!

The SpaceIt's a small room with an English double bed (quite small compared to double beds in Europe and US). The flat has a range of Victorian features and in the bedroom there is an original fireplace. Bedding and towels are provided Guest AccessYou will have full access to the lounge, kitchen and bathroom. I'm afraid we don't offer breakfast but you're welcome to use the kitchen to cook meals whenever you want. There is wifi and cable TV (Virgin media, super fast!) Interaction with GuestsWe work during the day but we are usually about in the evenings The NeighborhoodKingston is a wonderful area to be. It is surrounded by 3 major parks (including the great Richmond Park), it has a superb shopping area and a true village feeling. It is situated along the river Thames, where you can enjoy long walks in the nature, nice cafes and restaurants and boat connection to Hampton Court, Richmond and central London. It is a leafy area, with a big University just around the corner. Getting AroundThe flat is a short walk to the town centre and the train station. Kingston is very well connected to central London with trains about every 15 min. You can get to Waterloo station in about 25 min. Other Things to NotePlease be aware that this is our home, not a hotel. That is the spirit of Airbnb. So check-in and check-out must be planned with us and we can't welcome you too late at night. Also, the flat is part of a 1860's building, with quirky features, funny old doors and creaky floorboards. To be honest people usually fall in love with it, but please don't expect a modern block or a hotel room (it's just our spare room after all!) Thanks ;-)

The NeighborhoodThere is so much to do in Kingston upon Thames. Here are a few of my highlights ....the River Thames with its numerous cafes, restaurants and bars. The historic Market Place and shopping in the Bentall Centre. The Rose Theatre, Hampton Court Palace and nearby Richmond Park. We are close to Kingston University and well positioned for visiting parents and just as close to Kingston Hospital for visiting healthcare professionals. Within a 5 miles radius you can also reach Wimbledon (for the tennis) and Sandown and Kempton Park racecourses. We love the neighbourhood because we live in a conservation area and the house is in a private road which gives us and our guests peace and security. Getting AroundGood transport links to Central London - We are a five minute walk to Norbiton station with trains running every 15 minutes direct to Waterloo. There are also numerous bus services only 50yards away. Kingston Town centre is just a 15minute walk down the hill. The SpaceI am offering a light and airy double or twin room, and your own private living room in my Victorian home, located in the residential area of north Kingston. Your bedroom has plenty of drawer storage, space for hanging clothes, a dressing table/desk and chair, and a hairdryer. Your comfortable living room has a sofa, armchair, flat screen TV/DVD player with various cable channels and radio. Guest AccessGuests share the bathroom with just me (and I never hog it!), a second loo, and the kitchen and dining area too for light meals, which looks out on to my beautiful, peaceful garden, where you can relax if the weather allows. Guests are given a couple of shelves in my fridge, your own food cupboard space, and you are free to use all kitchen facilities to cook light meals. You can also hop on to my wi-fi. Interaction with GuestsI am out at work 3 days a week, then work from home the rest of the time so I am available to answer guest's questions most of the time. I love meeting people from all over the world through Airbnb and am happy to chat in the kitchen and dining area, but I do respect guest's privacy, as I would expect guests to respect mine too. The NeighborhoodThe house is in a great location, just 2 minutes walk away from the Royal Richmond Park, and 15 minutes walk from the River Thames, Kingston station and town centre. Kingston is a busy market town with a wealth of shops, pubs, bars, cafes and restaurants that cater for all tastes. It's a friendly and safe area. Hampton Court Palace is a 10 minute drive or a 50 minute walk along the river too. Richmond is also very close by (a 50 minute walk through the park or a 20 minute bus ride away). I've been living here for nearly 6 years now and I still feel like I'm on holiday! Getting AroundPublic transport links are very good for local travel and also for getting in to central London: Norbiton station is also only a 12 minute walk away from the house with trains running about every 15 minutes for a 25 minute ride in to central London Waterloo, and 15 minutes from Wimbledon if you're here for the tennis. Other Things to NoteFor security reasons, I only accept reservations requests from guests who have included verifications in their Airbnb profiles. Check in times have to be arranged around my hours of work. If you are arriving by public transport and if you have a mobile phone, you can call me and I can pick you up from Norbiton station or Kingston bus station which will save you a 10/15 minute walk with your luggage. Please note that without a call from you I can not pick you up as parking and waiting time at Norbiton and Kingston is very limited. I provide bed linen and towels. You can help yourself to tea, coffee and milk during your stay but please note I don't provide breakfast. Visitors parking permits for outside the house are £3 a day, and for around the corner £1.50 a day. There is free parking about a 2 minute walk away but spaces are not always available. Optional £10 for cleaning of bedroom if staying for more than one week. Guests do not have access to my washing machine. There is a launderette just a 2 minute walk away where you can have a very reasonably priced device wash. Both your bedroom and living room do face on to a road, so there can be some traffic noise, particularly during rush hours, but no more than what would be expected from most suburban residencies. Wi-fi signals upstairs in the bedroom can be patchy, even with boosters, but downstairs in the kitchen and your own living room it's fine. I live in a house, not a flat/apartment, so there are a few stairs (14 steps in total).
