Harvey McCarthy in 1922. Centrally located, the neighborhood is comprised of 136 acres, but it is not circular, contrary to its name. The specific boundaries of Carthay Circle are Wilshire Boulevard to the north, South Fairfax Ave. to the East, Olympic Ave. to the south, and Schumacher Drive to the West. Carthay Circle's location most closely borders Beverly Hills with the lovely La Cienega Park nearby. This area was designed with all the utilities underground, which makes it especially attractive. No two homes are alike due to the rule that all homes had to be designed individually by an architect. Designs vary immensely; one can find Spanish, English, Colonial, Mediterranean, and Cape Cod style homes. Notable designers such as Paul Williams and Robert Byrd contributed to the designs of the area and many celebrity actors resided in Carthay Circle.

    The SpaceThe apartment is located in a house split into three units. My unit is located over the garages. So there is no one below you. In the bedroom, you share no walls with the other tennants. Because of this, everything is very quiet and peaceful. Tons and tons of street parking with no time limit restrictions. Just watch out for Street Cleaning on Monday and Tuesday. We are only a few blocks from Beverly Hills, 15 minutes to the beach, and 15 minutes to downtown LA via the 10 freeway which is also close by. For those needing Kosher accommodations, Pico Robertson cannot be beat, with a plethora of Kosher Restaurants, Synagogues, and Mikveh's nearby. Please see the 'Guidebook' in this listing for more information. Getting AroundBuses and Taxis are easily accessible from our location. There is also a transit system to downtown LA close by the 10 freeway and LA Cienega Blvd. You can also use UBER, LYFT, or SIDECAR ride sharing services to get around easily. Other Things to NoteThe guesthouse is located behind a single family residence in the backyard area. Guest will be able to access the unit privately without having to greet anyone by walking down the left side of the house via the driveway. A lockbox or combo lock will be available to open the unit. Fluff and fold laundry service can be offered to guests depending upon the length of stay and upon request. There is no laundry in the unit itself at this time. Parking is free street parking in front.

You are 5 mins walk to Little Ethiopia on Fairfax, a 15 minute walk to LACMA, and a 25 minute walk to The Grove / Farmer's Market. Faster by Uber. You are also close by car to the freeway, West Hollywood, Century City, Koreatown, and Downtown . Getting AroundCar and uber is best. There is an efficient bus line up San Vicente directly into West Hollywood that costs only a few dollars and takes ~10 minutes outside rush hour. Other Things to NoteWe are new to renting this house on AirBnB. It is our primary home. Please note that the outdoor patio is in scruffy shape (dirty) as it is not really the season to use it. You are invited to use it of course, but I want to let you know it is not primed for the outdoor season. Please also note we have an old jacuzzi on the patio that is empty and does not work. We have adjusted our prices lower to compensate for the "not perfect" condition of the outdoor space. :)

The BBQ is off limits and cannot be used by guests. The main house in front of the property is inaccessible to guests as it belongs to another family. Please do not disturb them during your stay or make loud noises at night. The NeighborhoodAn excellent location to call home base while sightseeing around Los Angeles. The guesthouse is located in West Los Angeles and is close to most attractions. Plenty of markets and restaurants are here. Getting AroundPlenty of Uber and lyft car service is here as well as other forms of public transportation. Centrally located and safe, this friendly neighborhood is noted for its unique Spanish style homes and palm tree lined streets. Getting AroundUber and Lyft friendly and two blocks from major bus lines. Walking distance to restaurants, 7-11, CVS, banks, places of worship etc. Other Things to NoteLa Cienega Park in just a couple of blocks away. This urban park features a wonderful running track, exercise equipment, and playing fields. Free year round. LACMA is 1.1 miles away, The Petersen Automotive Museum is 0.8 miles away and the historic Farmers market and The Grove shopping center are 1.6 miles away.

The NeighborhoodThis location is 2 miles from Beverly Hills, 2 miles from The Beverly Center, 2 miles from The Grove and the LA County art museum. This is a very quiet convenient enclave neighborhood. The 10 freeway entrance is approximately 1 mile away and you can jump on that to head to the beach in Santa Monica. The nearest major intersection if La Cienega Blvd and Pico Blvd. The Mint jazz club is literally at the top of the street and one can walk two blocks to hear live music. Lots and lots of restaurants in the neighborhood. A very safe area. Getting AroundI personally recommend that you rent a car or use Uber/Lyft to get around Los Angeles. However, there is a bus that you can catch right up the street at Pico Blvd.

A little miles away from the beach in Santa Monica/Malibu, Venice, DTLA. Less than 5miles to Korean and Japanese Town. 3miles from Cedars Sinai hospital and less than 3 miles from Kaiser west-la for all you professionals/intern out there. It is also 7miles to UCLA, 8miles to USC, CSULA. Getting AroundLos Angeles Airport (LAX) is just 12 miles away from here so you could uber to and from airport, about $40 round trip. Most locals just use uber to get to (URL HIDDEN) very common. If you have a rental car, there is a gated underground private parking for you (non-tandem). The 10fwy is just down a couple blocks ...and it will connect you to all the other freeways. There is a metro a few blocks away that takes you to DTLA and Santa Monica...but Ive only ridden it once in my entire life since I have my own car. There are city bus stops every corner. Also close to the airport and highways Other Things to NoteThe back house has a big sectional couch. One side pulls out into a queen sized bed. We take the side cushions off the the other side of the couch and usually set that up as a bed too (put a sheet on the sitting cushions and put a pillow and blanket on top of that). Personally speaking, I hate pull out beds and would much rather do the cushion bed setup on the sectional which can sleep 2 then. I think thats more comfortable. We can set it up either way. We also have a blow up mattress. Just let us know your preference.

      This is a lower, huge (1600 square feet) unit that feels much more like a private home than an apartment or flat. There is only one common wall with neighbors and it is the hallway, so it is super quiet and private. There are two bedrooms, each with a queen size bed as well as a sectional sofa in the living room, so it could potentially sleep up to 5 people, but would be perfect for 2 to 4, ideally. There is one large bathroom with a shower over the tub, ceiling fans in every room, hardwood floors with gorgeous area rugs and a fully stocked kitchen for your cooking pleasure. There is a washer and dryer in the unit all to yourself, all amenities, heat, electric, water, gas and high speed wifi are included. There are wonderful tenants in the building, only 3 other units and all inhabited by nice, long-term tenants. Plenty of safe street parking here and no permit needed. The flat is gorgeously and tastefully furnished with a modern flair, all furniture is new and it is also all child safe. It is a bright, cheerful space and the unit gets beautifully sunlight in all the rooms by day and is peaceful and quiet at night. It is professionally cleaned once a week and maintenance issues will be handled within 2-24 hours and there will be someone you can call 24/7 for any issues you may have who is local and very attentive. Kid friendly building, I will consider a small dog. Possibly two, case by case basis. The unit is in a fourplex building in a historic neighborhood adjacent to Beverly Hills, West Hollywood and walking distance to metro stations as well as all the museums on Wilshire, The Farmer's Market/ Grove and a 10 minute drive to downtown or the beach! Area could not be more central and safe, very family friendly. The official name of the neighborhood is Carthay Square, a beautiful little pocket of spanish style homes and duplexes with a real neighborhood feel. Walk to one of the best cafe's in LA among hundreds of other restaurants, cultural attractions and so much more. 3 night minimum, refundable deposit and cleaning fee is only applicable for stays over three nights and for stays of 7 nights cleaning fee applies as a one time fee, after that stays that are more than two weeks, bi-weekly maid service is optional for an additional $100 a month.
