The SpaceLos Molinos ("The Windmills", our name for the house) has a fantastic uninterrupted 180 degree view of the east coast of Puerto Rico including the island of Vieques. The view to the east from the decks includes Roosevelt Roads and the modern wind turbines, silently generating renewable energy. The view to the west includes the Malecon, Monkey Island, and Humacao down the coast. Guest AccessEnter the community of Mar Caribe adjacent to the Malecon de Naguabo. Los Molinos has a remote controlled gate to make parking adjacent to back door easier. You have access to the entire house and all amenities including, Jacuzzi, Bose Bluetooth speaker, Xbox w/games, beach gear (wheeled cooler, beach chairs, beach towels, kids bucket + shovel), hammock, snorkeling gear, boogie boards, kayaks, outdoor shower, outdoor gas grill, and many more. If you choose to stay indoors, there are plenty of books and board games for your use. Interaction with GuestsA local contact/host will meet you when you arrive and be available to make your stay pleasant, and assist with recommendations on sites and restaurants. The owners, Judith and John, are available prior to and during your trip to suggest local and island-wide attractions, restaurants and services. The NeighborhoodOur Mar Caribe neighborhood (16 custom homes) is exclusive and modern with a mixture of retired couples and local executive families. Once you arrive you will immediately understand why the community is so special. Mar Caribe is located on a modest bluff along the ocean with an unobstructed view of the coast. The community has a private pedestrian gate with immediate access to the local beach of La Fanduca. The local sea side town of Malecon de Naguabo (walking distance from the house) is known throughout the island for its fresh seafood restaurants and fish markets. The Malecon just reopened in November 2015 after a multi-million dollar reconstruction of the boardwalk offering sitting areas, artisans spaces and shady pergola areas. Getting AroundRental cars are basically a must in Puerto Rico. Los Molinos is about a 1 hour drive east of San Juan half way between Fajardo and Humacao. The east coast is home to many natural attractions including El Yunque rainforest with many trails and waterfalls to discover, scuba diving, snorkeling, bicycling, golfing, kayaking, the biobay trips, nature reserves, lighthouses, all within a few minutes drive. A few of the many other attractions in Puerto Rico include the Spanish forts of San Juan, the Camuy caves, the Arecibo radio telescope, sugar cane and coffee plantation tours, high and eco adventures, and the ever-present roadside restaurants and kiosks. Other Things to NoteYour local contact/host is available to provide an optional service of stocking your refrigerator at the beginning of your visit. That way you can begin your relaxing vacation the moment you arrive.
