The kitchen is fully functional, and equipped with a sit-down bar so your fellow travelers can comment on your cooking. There's a private driveway for your convenience. Decor is, well...Alaskan! Guest AccessYou will have access to our large, second-story deck with swing, screened-in picnic table, and BBQ grill with a nice view of forest and tundra. Dave built us a wood-fired, Finnish-style sauna which may be available for use with prior notice if Dave is home to fire it up. Although not listed in amenities, we have wireless internet at the main house. Interaction with GuestsThis is up to our guests. We love Alaska and maybe tend to brag about it too much. Jill expedites our families and friends around the landscape until they beg for mercy. We want our guests to have a fantastic visit and we're happy to provide ideas on what to do and where to do it. We can also help out with transportation to and from the airport or Float Plane Row with prior notice. The NeighborhoodKing Salmon is a major hub for destinations all over the Alaska Peninsula, such as Brooks Camp in Katmai National Park. We are located 3 miles from the airport and within walking distance of King Salmon Creek. Our neighborhood is considered residential but most people would call it sparsely populated. We have trails and gravel roads for walking/biking and you can fish for trout and coho (silver) salmon in the creek. Getting AroundYou can rent a car, SUV or pickup truck locally or get a taxi. Local air charters will take you to remote destinations. We can help you make arrangements if need be. Naknek is a village 15 miles west on the Alaska Peninsula Highway, where commercial salmon fishing industry kicks into high gear during July on Bristol Bay. Worth the drive! Other Things to NoteWe have an Irish water spaniel "Murphy" that enjoys visitors but is not allowed in the Little House. 10% bed tax included in May-Oct rates.
