You're very welcome to bring your own hardwood, there's some available at the grocery store in town, or if desired I will provide it at a reasonable rate. I am purchasing firewood for the 2014/2015 season, but 2015/2016 should be much better with fully seasoned wood from the land. It's less than five miles to the quaint town of Naples. Great food, great wine. Finger Lakes wine trails are all very close!!! Right next to Hunt Hollow ski center! 15~ minutes from Bristol mountain ski center!!! Fish Honeoye Lake! Or better.... The untouched Canadice Lake! All a very short distance away!!! There are a total of two separate cabins on the land, and I am looking to build a third in 2015. There's a ton a natural beauty and privacy. Your cabin will be entirely yours!!!! REKINDLE THAT ROMANCE!!! I am waiving the cleaning fee as people have been great with previous rentals. Please leave it as you found it so I can allow the savings to continue! I make a personal inspection after each rental, so if it's just light cleaning I'll have at it myself. Trails, deer, small black bear, fox, awesome bird watching, the stars at night are great and the waterfalls!!!! All make this a best of breed stay!!! You'll need a vehicle. 2 wheel drive is fine, I drive motorcycle with absolutely no issues. No smoking in the cabin please. I don't hunt, but if there was interest I would allow it in season. Guest AccessIt's less than five miles to the quaint town of Naples. Great food, great wine. Finger Lakes wine trails are all very close!!! I make a personal inspection after each rental, so if it's just light cleaning I'll have at it myself. The NeighborhoodPlease note: We are on an artesian well. Depending on the Season and level of the water table on the mountain, there may be noticable Sulfur content in the water. I have two water softeners in line as well as a chlorinator. It is perfectly safe to drink, but I would encourage people to bring their own drinking water. Getting AroundYou'll need a vehicle. 2 wheel drive is fine, I drive motorcycle with absolutely no issues. Other Things to NoteI've rented quite a bit in 2014 and made a ton of improvements based on peoples feedback. Please keep in mind, this is a cabin in the woods. There are MANY "creature comforts" but the Wi-Fi is intended for casual use. It's 1.5MB DSL, so if you're planning on "gaming" during your stay you may be disappointed with the thru put performance. :-) I had a new artesian well drilled in 2014 to ensure there would be adequate water at all times of the year. ($12K)They warned me about potential sulpher content in the area water supply. I have installed no less than two water softeners on the property to minimize the content with varying degrees of success based on the season and water table. You should either know how to work a wood burning stove in the cold season, or be willing to learn. I had some folks come from New York City who had never seen such a thing.... :-) They had it in hand in short order, but prepare to feed it to stay warm if its cold out!

The SpaceIf you can imagine it, think of this as a 1920 era bungalow reinterpreted with a modern slant. The cozy kitchen is open to the dining area featuring a bay window. The dining area in turn opens to the living area with a beautiful stone fireplace. The first floor has two bedrooms , one with a four post double bed and the other with a standard double bed. Both have closets. The bathroom between them has been fully renovated and has a large shower. There is also a second bathroom with a shower on the first floor. Arguably the best feature of the house is the lovely, screened-in front porch with a spectacular view of the lake. Open to the kitchen and dining area is the stair to the second floor. The stair is lit by one of three large sky lights /roof windows that bring a lovely open and airy feel to the large open space of the second floor. The space is furnished with four single beds and plenty of extra space to accommodate your group. Facing the lake is a raised platform with a window alcove perfect for curling up with a good book or video game. The lake front is across the lightly traveled, dead-end road and accessible by a well made metal 35 step staircase. The natural, lake pebble beach allows walk-in access and is supplemented by a 4 foot by 36 foot pier for lounging or that irresistible urge to do a cannonball plunge.

The SpaceThe cabin sits back from the quiet dead-end road shaded by large oak trees. The front lawn, bordered to the north by a seasonal creek, slopes towards the lake framing the cedar sided cabin like a scene from a story book. The pine paneled living room features a wonderful view of the lake thru a large, centrally located picture window. The southern end of the room is formed by a brick fireplace complete with a crane used for cooking in simpler times. The northern end of the living room connects down two steps to the master bedroom furnished with a queen size bed. Adjacent to the bedroom, also opening on the living room, is a small powder room. The kitchen has a country sink and natural pine cabinets and is furnished with an electric stove and refrigerator. Outside lounging space is provided by a screened in porch to the south accessible from the living room with a cute, “secret" pass-thru window from the kitchen. Also on the first floor is a full bathroom which has been newly renovated with a wood wainscot and ceramic tile floor and tub surround preserving the cast iron tub. The second floor is tucked in under the pitched roof and gables facing the lake and has an open plan. This upper level offers two bunk beds (four single beds) to accommodate your group. The private lake front is accessed across the quiet dead-end road. Lake level is accessible with 8 steps and has a permanent dock and a lake pebble beach for wading.
