Description
The Space

Every window in our home offers spectacular prairie views. Watch the evening glow on the pasture from our porch and the sunrise while you prepare breakfast in the kitchen. Our 1929 farmhouse has 3 bedrooms upstairs and two full bathrooms, a complete kitchen, large dining room and living room. Guests are free to wander through our 300 acres of native prairie. Early morning and golden evenings are the best times to explore the wilderness. Built by Jim's grandfather in 1929, our home is surrounded by abundant wildlife, open spaces and stunning sunsets. Visitors will be amazed by the stars at night, since we have no light pollution, and the sounds of nature (our closest neighbor is a mile away). Though we are on the road less traveled, there are interesting sites to see in the area, one being the official survey marker of the Land Grant Act of 1856, which is a half a mile away. Our barn is on the National Register of Historic Sites. And the nearby towns of Belleville, Kansas and Fairbury, Nebraska have interesting museums and sites. We are only 16 miles from historic Route 36 that crosses the Great Plains. You may find getting here slightly complicated. However, once you arrive and settle in we're sure it will be well worth the effort! Our home has central heating and air and so is comfortable in all seasons. There is a Hearthstone wood stove and we've spent many cozy winter evenings nestled around it.

Place's rules
We expect you to leave our home the way you found it. Please strip the beds so we know which ones you've used and leave used towels and bedding on the floor and we'll do the rest. Please don't smoke anything in the house or the outbuildings, especially the barn. There is a porch and lots of open space for that.

Millions of people are using Airbnb to sleep in strangers' homes, beds, and even couches. They have an amazing selection and you can't find their stuff anywhere else. There is a catch: you often need to contact several hosts to actually get a place to stay, so make sure you give yourself some lead time.
