The SpaceJuniper is different from other B&Bs in the area. It is stylish and modern yet comfortable. Each room has a balcony or verandah from which to enjoy the view. It's only a 15 minute drive from Bhimtal but much cooler and quieter because of the 6,000 above sea level altitude. The decor is warm and welcoming with a stone fireplace, pine ceilings, books, a large DVD collection, a huge fitted kitchen and pretty furnishings. Guest AccessThe larger ground floor bedroom gives guests access
to a private dining area. Guests in the first floor bedrooms also
have a small dining area and a kitchenette where they can
make tea and coffee. Interaction with GuestsI may be present there on occasion but Krishna Chandra, your cook, will be around 24/7 to look after you and provide meals, if you wish to have lunch and dinner in addition to the breakfast which is included in the tariff. He is also available as a guide for trekking. The NeighborhoodJungalia is a small village which you reach from Bhimtal through a winding mountain road, with spectacular scenery - mountains, valleys and Naukuchiatal Lake - on the way. The area around Juniper is quiet, dotted with tiny village homes, farmed terraces, meadows, peach and plum orchards and lemon groves. The road leading to Juniper continues for another kilometre or so before ending in a pretty pine glade. As a result, there is no through traffic. There are no restaurants. Bhimtal offers a range of restaurants. If you wish to stay at home, Krishna can rustle up a superb meal. Juniper is a perfect base from which to explore the lakes in this area - Bhimtal, Sattal, Naukuchital - and to visit Nainital, Ranikhet, Almorah and Mukhteshwar. The walks and treks in the around this quiet village offer fabulous vistas of forests, valleys and terraces. Getting AroundTo travel around the area, apart from walks in the vicinity, you need to hire a taxi. There are plenty available, often driven by reliable local men, to take you to the nearby lakes, to Bhimtal or Nainital or further afield to places such as Ramgarh, Ranikhet and Almora etc. Other Things to NoteThe living room has a TV and a cable connection. There is a large collection of DVDs (European and Indian films) to choose from, provided you take a laptop. There are books, board games, and cards. It also has wifi.
