The SpaceMy property is one of the most private and scenic in town. All the willows around the creek on the side of my house provide a virtual wall around the property with no visibility from other homes around me. The house sits in the middle of four city lots. The creek in the backyard calls you to sit on the bank and comtemplate. My home is a perfect floor plan for hosting AIRBNB guests. As you walk into the house through the mudroom, there is a private hallway which I rent to my guests. It consists of two beautifully decorated bedrooms and a private bath. Each room has a queen bed, a comfortable reading chair, full closet and a place for suitcases. The queen beds are brand new. European down comforter and pillows make the rooms very comfortable and cozy. Guests are welcome and encouraged to use my living room and kitchen. My bedroom and bath are on the other side of the kitchen, completely separate from the rest of the house. So this listing is NOT a completely private apartment/house. I sleep here. However, as you can read from my reviews, I received constant 5-star ratings for my space and my reputation as a host. If you read my profile, you will learn I have lived in the area for 35 years and have served as President of the Chamber of Commerce, Chair of the Downtown Development Authority and am considered the creator of our most well known celebration, Frozen Dead Guy Days a three-day festival held the second weekend each March. In other words, I am full of local lore stories and obviously have a good lay of the land. I can recommend hike and ski trails for your ability. I also know most of the local population so I can connect you with people who can assist me in making your Nederland stay as customized as you would like it to be. My house is really hidden from the road and in a very quiet neighborhood, yet still only three-four blocks from town businesses and services. I find almost all my guests appreciate such a short walk to food, saloons, dancing and music. As Nederland is in the Regional Transportation District (RTD) and the local Park and Ride Center is two blocks from my front door, it is possible to travel to Nederland without driving a car and walk to this AIRBNB listing. Guest AccessGuests are welcome to use the kitchen and great room as well as the yard. Skis and bicycles can be stored in the detached garage. There is a washer and dryer as well as a gas fireplace. Interaction with GuestsI live in the main area of the house. I work out of my house so I am available to my guests when I am at home, which is most of the time. I would enjoy your company and be available to answer any questions, make recommendations for hikes and ski trails and general information. I owned a business in Nederland for 23 years, was president of the Chamber of Commerce for five, and chaired the Downtown Development Authority for 7. So I do know a few things about our sweet community. The NeighborhoodI love the access to town, just a short walk to the grocery, restaurants, music venues, coffee shops and more. My neighborhood is very quiet and secluded. There are ample things in Nederland to experience, such as the Carousel of Happiness, an original Louff carousel that has been restored in original fashion that draws people from all over the world. We also have the Mining Museum run by Boulder County. Of course, Nederland is the center for access to dozens of great hiking/backcountry trails in the Indian Peaks and James Peak Wilderness Area and Eldora Mountain Resort. Black Hawk and Central City, old mining towns that now offer gaming/gambling are 20 miles away. Estes Park and Rocky Mtn. National Park are 40 miles away. Getting AroundIt is a five-minute walk to a grocery, hardware store, restaurants, retail, liquor store and dispensaries. The Regional Transportation District (RTD) Park and Ride facility is located two blocks from my house. Ideally, you can take the RTD from Boulder, Denver or even DIA and get to Nederland and back without needing a car. I also own a bicycle which you are welcome to use. Other Things to NoteYou will not regret booking this space. I feel like I live in a little slice of paradise.

Solar power fuels your space, complete with a mini fridge, toaster oven, microwave, hot water maker, french press, and triple-filtered reverse osmosis water dispenser. You can get wifi access at Kathmandu Restaurant, Nederland Community Library, and a few other hot spots in town if needed before check-in. Once you arrive, we offer free wifi access. Wifi info can be found in the House Manual upon confirmation of your reservation. We love sharing our local flavor and knowledge with our guests, and we also respect privacy and quiet time. The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood is diverse and friendly, frequented by our chickens, neighborhood dogs, mountain men, wild children and hippies. The Community Library is located 1 block away, and the Nederland Community Center, Backdoor Theater and gymnasium 1 block behind our home. Live music and local breweries are always happening; we even have a new live music nightclub surrounded by Pine forests, The Caribou Room, within walking distance to the Studio. Hit the slopes at Eldora Mountain Resort, 10 minutes (or a bus ride) away, or try one of our infinite snowshoe, backcountry, or xc/nordic trails during the winter. Explore the infinite hiking trails, or hop on your mountain or road bike on days when the sun is shining – we'll help you find just the right adventure you seek. After a day outside, enjoy a yoga class at Tadasana Mountain Yoga Studio, where Angie teaches alongside seasoned and knowledgeable instructors. Kiddos and children-at-heart will enjoy carousel rides for only $1 at the town market center. Visit our local cooperative market on First Street, watch the Broncos play at one of our many micro-breweries and pubs, or grab a slice at our new local wood-fired pizza joint, Cross Cut – it's delicious (and they even have gluten free and vegan options!). In March you can visit the frozen grandpa, or take a polar bear dip in the park pond during Frozen Dead Guy Days (yep - you read that correctly!). If you've exhausted your Nederland possibilities, Boulder is only a 25-minute drive or bus ride away. Getting AroundFrom the Studio, everything in town is walkable within 10-minutes or less! There is free off-street parking for those that have their own vehicle, or the park-n-ride bus station a 3-minute walk away. Public transportation runs hourly and is very reliable. Buses can be conveniently taken to the ski mountain 15 minutes away, to Boulder in 30 minutes, and to Denver in under 2 hours. We are happy to help guests navigate the public transportation system to and from our home. Other Things to NoteAlthough we enjoy animals and pets, we ask that guests please leave their pets at home. We have chickens who could be mistaken for dog toys and a 3-year old child who is sensitive to the presence of new pets. We also have a sweet but partially blind middle-aged dog who lives on the property and helps us in the gardens. The SpaceUPSTAIRS has open-floor plan looks out on a panoramic view of the Continental Divide - this is what I refer to as the 'best view from a house, ever'. Kitchen, wood floor, telescope, and hammock in this upstairs 'great' room. Very large deck is connected to this space. Kitchen is fully stocked with everything, including condiments, spices, etc you are invited to use. Stereo works from your computer or phone, with speakers inside and out on the deck. Master bedroom is also on this floor with king size bed and great divide view. The big deck has an all wooden, deep vertical hot tub. The trampoline is at deck level with the deck and divide in front of you. Hammocks, and a grill too. (hammocks and grill are not really winter things) From the deck, along with the continental divide, you can also see Barker Reservoir, and downtown Nederland (1 mile away with many restaurants, bars, cafes, and shops). DOWNSTAIRS has two private bedrooms, and a third 'bedroom' in an open space. Wood Stove, Large TV with DISH cable, Apple TV, Netflix, Hulu Plus, and DVD player. Also, massage chair, and work out & yoga equipment. It's clean, warm, carpeted. Washer and Dryer too. Guest AccessYou are renting the whole house, so you get the whole house! I have a separate 'private room' listing that is less expensive, if you don't mind me coming and going, and staying in the master bedroom upstairs. (With that other listing, (also titled 'Quirky luxury, stunning view' but with 1 exclamation point) you would get the entire downstairs to yourselves, and access to upstairs living room and kitchen, as well as the deck. Interaction with GuestsYou are renting the whole house, so I won't be here, but I'll usually be here to welcome you and give you a short tour. I'll stay in touch by text, to make sure everything is going smoothly and you are finding everything you need. The NeighborhoodI will leave you a couple of magazines that cover it ALL, in detail - Hiking, biking, special attractions, etc. Nederland was my favorite place on earth when I moved here 11 years ago, and still is. There are world class mountain hikes and other outdoor adventures minutes from the the front door. Road and trail biking, skiing. fishing, depending on the season. Our little town (1500 in town; 7500 in surrounding mountains) is an overachieving place. The Carousel of Happiness is an art project, and yes, a carousel you can ride. The 'Rock Shop' (Nature's Own) is worth checking out. Three world class coffeehouses, Happy Trails (local flavor), New Moon (wonderful bakery) and Salto (lots of room, full bar). The Co-op on first street (just ask anyone where it is) is a great place for healthy grocery shopping. (We also have a 'normal' grocery store, the B&F.) Tadasana Yoga rivals any yoga studio I've ever been to. Check their schedule out online. Classes 9am, noon, every day. The Wild Bear Nature Center is nearby and worth checking out. A few good bars (with their own restaurants), a used book store (with ice cream!) a hardware store, a bank, and more. Some good restaurants, including: Kathmandu (Indian), Wild Mountain Smokehouse (they smoke their own meat, brew their own beer) Salto, The Thai Restaurant, and Backcountry Pizza. Salto is a coffeehouse but also has good food options. Getting AroundYou should bring a car that is appropriate for the season. Last 1/2 mile to house is dirt road that is sometimes washboardy. Could be lot's of snow in winter! You can walk to town, especially in summer. House is 1.1 miles from Hwy 119. 1.5 mile gets you to anywhere in town. RTD has great bus service to Boulder, Denver, Eldora Ski area. Other Things to NoteCheck in and Check out time can be Flexible, just ask. There is lot's of info about hiking, biking, and local businesses at the house. Upstairs above stereo is a whole shelf of hiking/biking and other local guide books. Hikes: (You can ignore this below and check out the green booklet at the house - much better!) 1) Walk along the res. You could start in town from the covered bridge, walk through the park, past the skate park, through the parking lot that is across from the post office, walk along the North edge of the reservoir. OR YOU COULD JUST START ACROSS FROM THE POST OFFICE (easy-peasy) As much as an hour out and back, probably less. really pretty. 2) Mud Lake head out toward the elementary school, there is a series of trails, made by the folks at Wild Bear Nature Center (next to the Carousel) A little longer, in the woods, but not too far from town, and not much elevation gain. 3) Hesse Trailhead, in the Indian Peaks Wilderness - Follow Eldora road until you can go no further, get out of the car and keep walking. This is the real deal. You may walk in snow at some point, except summer. Many ways to go. World class hiking. Try Lost Lake first.

The SpaceOur cozy but spacious guest room with french doors is off the entry and includes a bath with shower. We have a brand new queen sized bed and mattress. Throw rugs and fir walls add to the rustic and comfortable feel. It has wi-fi, fresh towels and linens, a small writing desk - and returning guests will notice the new comfy chair and reading lamp. The bathroom is stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body soap and lotion, and there is a hairdryer and iron with ironing board handy if needed. We are 3 blocks to town and all that Nederland offers! The Carousel of Happiness, grocery store, co-op, restaurants, shops, post office, bookstore, ice cream parlor, coffee and gift shops are a short walk away as well as public transportation to Eldora ski area (Winter) Indian Peaks trails (Summer) and Boulder. At an altitude of 8,200 feet it's a great place to relax and breathe in the fresh mountain air. Guest AccessWhile you are here we are happy to share our kitchen (everyone cleans up after themselves here), and there is a small refrigerator for guest use downstairs. If you need a washer (we have lines for drying), ironing board, iron or hairdryer, just let us know. The room has wi-fi, and when you're feeling social we welcome you in our living room and greenhouse space to enjoy our company, fish tank and piano. We offer coffee and tea in the morning and we usually have a variety of herbal teas on hand. There are local restaurants and coffee shops for meals (5 minute walk down the street), or you can shop at our local grocery or health food Co-op and prepare meals here. Interaction with GuestsWe're friendly and available upstairs if you feel social or have questions. Yet, we totally respect your choice to be as private as you prefer. Our guest room is on the first floor where you have space to yourself. You, the guest, will set the tone of your visit. The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood is lake meadow, surrounded by lodgepole pine, with beautiful views of 13,000 foot peaks. It's pretty quiet, yet an easy walk to town and nearby trails. The town park, Chipeta, is across the street. It has a children's fishing pond and playground, a covered pavilion with a stone fireplace and picnic tables. Barker Reservoir is a stones throw from the front yard, with pedestrian trails around it to the dam and a sandy beach close by in Spring and Fall. The Teen Center, across the foot bridge, hosts a beautiful skatepark on the shore of Barker. Just down the street is the amazing Carousel of Happiness - a historic and unique 'must see' for every visitor! The Backdoor Theater boasts first run movies every Friday and Saturday at 7. Our neighborhood is also home to Nedfest Music Festival in August and Frozen Dead Guy Days in March. We are less than 10 minutes to Eldora ski area, 15 minutes to Indian Peaks Wilderness, 20 minutes to Boulder, 25 minutes to Brainard Lake Wilderness and about an hour to Rocky Mountain National Park in Estes Park, Colorado. Getting AroundPublic transportation is very convenient with an RTD bus stop 3 blocks away. Routes to Eldora ski area in Winter and Indian Peaks trails in Summer as well as Boulder and Denver year round. Other Things to NoteWe have cell phone towers in Nederland for AT&T and Verizon and some other carriers work up here randomly. There is no service in the canyons and most of Peak to Peak highway. Staying hydrated is key to avoiding altitude reactions! Refill your water bottle often from the tap or our filter in the kitchen. Be prepared for high winds in the Winter months! 4WD is recommended. On windy nights your room is the quietest in the house! It is located on the east side of the house and is part of the foundation, so it is quiet and calm! The state of Colorado legalized recreational marijuana in 2014 and Nederland is home to three retail shops as well as the only US cannabis club, Club Ned.

The SpaceThere's nothing quite like the natural feeling of a cool mountain breeze blowing through your windows in the middle of summer, or the warm and cozy touch of radiant floor heat when you're watching the snow fall in the Rockies. Your private room and bath is fully equipped with thermostat-controlled radiant floor heating for those cold winter months. Clean, high-quality linens, towels and a 100% goose down duvet during winter months are offered for your comfort. High speed wifi access is always on. Guest AccessThe entry to our home is a comfortable mudroom, shared with our other Airbnb Guest Suite listing. Your room also has its own private exterior entry. We politely ask our guest to refrain from using the kitchen for cooking anything other than the oatmeal provided in the morning and coffee and tea, as needed. Guests are welcome to store food in the refrigerator. Since this is our home, uninvited guests to the house are discouraged unless there is prior discussion of visitation requests. We encourage all our guests to maintain a sense of common courtesy and cleanliness that makes a house a home for all. Interaction with GuestsWhile we work mostly from home and around town, we do enjoy the occasional mid-day conversation break or communal dinner in the evenings with friends and guests. We love sharing our local flavor and knowledge with our guests, and we also respect privacy and quiet time. The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood is diverse and friendly, frequented by our chickens, neighborhood dogs, mountain men, toddlers and hippies. The Community Library is located 1 block away, and the Nederland Community Center, theater and gymnasium 1 block behind our home. Live music and local breweries are always happening. Kiddos will enjoy carousel rides for only $1 at the town market center. Visit our local cooperative market on First Street, watch the Broncos play at one of our many micro-breweries and pubs, or grab a slice at our local pizza joint – it's delicious (and they even have gluten free and vegan options!). In March you can visit the frozen grandpa, or take a polar bear dip in the park pond during Frozen Dead Guy Days (yep - you read that correctly!). If you've exhausted your Nederland possibilities, Boulder is only a 25-minute drive or bus ride away. Getting AroundThere is free off-street parking for those that have their own vehicle, or the park-n-ride bus station a 3-minute walk away. Public transportation runs hourly and is very reliable. Buses can be conveniently taken to the ski mountain 15 minutes away, to Boulder in 30 minutes, and to Denver in under 2 hours. We are happy to help guests navigate the public transportation system to and from our home. Other Things to NoteCell phone reception: It's a little spotty up here at our altitude. AT&T and Verizon work best. T-Mobile is pretty much non-existent. You can get wifi access at Kathmandu Restaurant, Nederland Community Library, and a few other hot spots in town. If you are an adult or small family traveling with children, please contact us with your capacity needs before making your reservation. We have a pack-n-play and toys for your convenience. Although we enjoy animals and pets, we ask that guests please leave their pets at home. The SpaceCheck in and Check out can be flexible, just ask me. [I have another listing for renting the full house. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/2330246] Your area downstairs includes three 'bedrooms', 2 private, and 1 mostly private. Also a private bathroom. Also a lounge area with large TV/cable. The wood stove is great in the winter. It's a carpeted, comfortable area for hanging out and sleeping. Exercise equipment and dart board to boot. Oh, and an inside hammock! did I mention the massage chair?? Kitchen is upstairs and you are welcome to use it. It comes well stocked with cooking gear and such. You can also hang out on the large wrap-around deck that has hammocks, Hot tub, chairs, grilling, and the trampoline. Winter is good for hot tubbing and trampolining, but not hammocking and grilling so much. Guest AccessYou will have your own private entrance. Interaction with GuestsI will be staying upstairs in the master bedroom. Regarding interaction, I can stay out of your way, and I'm happy to help if needed. I often cook breakfast/pancakes in the morning. I'll text you when that's happening and you can join us or not. I'm happy to help with any questions you have about the house, the town, and the world class mountains that we live in. The NeighborhoodNederland was my favorite place on earth when I moved here nine years ago, and still is. Our little town (population 1500 in town; 7500 in surrounding mountains) is an overachiever. The Carousel of Happiness and the 'Rock Shop' would be attractions if they were in NYC, but here they are in Ned. Three world class coffeehouses, Happy Trails (local flavor), New Moon (wonderful bakery) and Salto (lots of room, full bar). The Co-op on first street (just ask anyone) is a great place for healthy grocery shopping. (We also have a 'normal' grocery' the B&F. Tadasana Yoga rivals any yoga studio I've been to. Check their online schedule. The Wild Bear Nature Center is nearby and worth checking out! A few good bars, a hardware store, a bank. Some good restaurants including Kathmandu (Indian), Wild Mountain Smokehouse (they smoke their own meat, brew their own beer) Salto, Backcountry Pizza, and more. 15 minutes from world class hiking. 30 minutes from Bouler. 45 minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park and 1 hour from Denver. Getting AroundYou'll want to have a car. In the winter you'll want to have a car that is good with snow. You can also walk into town, it's 1 - 1.5 miles to town. Other Things to NoteI have another listing for renting the full house. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/2330246 I will leave lots of local info - hiking and lots of other stuff! a few of my notes about hiking: 1) Walk along the res. May is early, even June, so you may hit snow at some point, impossible to predict. Many ways to go. World class hiking. Try Lost Lake first.

The SpaceWhen available, we can accommodate last-minute bookings (within 24 hours or less). About Us We are outdoor enthusiasts who have settled in this beautiful area of the country. Our home is located at 9,250 ft in elevation 10 minutes away from the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area, which boasts amazing views of the Continental Divide. We are also close to one of the entrances of the Rocky Mountain National Park. In addition, we are 30 minutes away from Eldora Ski Resort. Given that we are runners, backcountry skiers and mountain bikers, we have an extensive knowledge of the trail systems in the area. We also know Colorado quite well. We speak French & Spanish fluently. More than anything, we are people who love nature & who love to share our experiences with friends. Given that we have traveled extensively around the world, we are accommodating, welcoming & flexible. An aspen forest surrounds our home. As such, the space is very peaceful and private. 1. We welcome budget-minded travelers, outdoor enthusiasts, quiet, considerate & friendly folks. Unfortunately, we are allergic to tobacco smell. If you are a cigarette smoker, our setup will not work for you. 2. In the spirit of keeping our atmosphere neutral for everyone, we try to keep our house scent/perfume free. If you are used to wearing perfumes/scents, we would greatly appreciate if you do not do so during your stay. 3. The Space Bedroom: Our spare room has a queen size bed and a small balcony. Bathroom: You will be sharing 1.5 bathrooms with the hosts. Our main bathroom is spacious and has plenty of space for your toiletries. We keep it always very clean. As our guest, you are welcome to make your own meals in the main house kitchen, come and go with freedom and make yourself at home. The shared space includes the living room, dining room, and kitchen. We have two fully functional refrigerators. As such, there is plenty of space for your groceries. Our water comes from a glacier located in the Indian Peaks Wilderness. As such, it is unchlorinated & unfluorinated. It is really good, probably among the best in the world. We have the facilities of a comfortable home including a great all stone shower, dishwasher and one of the best wood-burning stoves in the marketplace. We heat our home with wood. As such, our space is not climate controlled. We don’t have air conditioning. If you are looking for a luxury bed & breakfast experience, our space might not be the right fit for you. We truly embrace mountain living as it comes, cutting wood with an axe and shoveling snow manually. Our home is by no means perfect given that we are two women taking care of all remodeling projects. We are constantly improving the space as time & budget allows us to do so. We have dogs in our property. They are very friendly & well behaved. We have plenty of space to accommodate your outdoor equipment such as skies, bikes, etc. We have extra bikes available for use. Just keep in mind that the climb from Boulder to Ward has a 3,800 ft elevation gain. Guest AccessInternet Access: Very Reliable. We have a home phone. Cell Phone Access: ATT has good service. Unfortunately, Verizon & T-Mobile services are not available. We don't have cable TV. Our water comes from a glacier located in the Indian Peaks Wilderness. As such, it is unchlorinated & unfluorinated. It is really good. We would really appreciate if you would be so kind to NOT use any perfume/fragance. We try to keep our house fragance free in the spirit of being neutral to everyone. It is extremely difficult to remove fragance from bed linens. Interaction with GuestsWe work from home. As such, we are available for questions & guidance. We are more than happy to share during dinner time. The NeighborhoodWe live below an artistic funky mountain town called Ward located 15 minutes away from Nederland and 25 minutes away from Boulder. We have a great italian restaurant (Marrocco's Family Dining) & an art gallery. We are located 8 minutes away from the Indian Peaks Wilderness which offers a rugged wilderness experience of jagged windswept peaks, alpine tundra, and small glaciers. We have infinite snowshoe, backcountry and xc/nordic trails during the winter. Getting AroundPublic transportation is not available. We drive to Boulder every other day. During the winter months, please know that a 4WD vehicle is advisable. Other Things to NoteWe would prefer if you could check in before 7:00 pm. During the winter months, please do not plan to arrive at night. We live rurally, our roads are not well lit and navigation can seem complicated at night. In addition, during snow storms, the roads are not always 100% plowed. We ask that you please let us know in advance your arrival time. If you are visiting us from a low altitude, be sure to drink lots of water to avoid altitude sickness. We live at high altitude (9,250 ft). Also, if you plan to explore our wilderness, please make sure to bring hiking boots and a headlamp. We live in the Rocky Mountains. Our peaks are high, we have river crossings and rocky trails. Like in any other alpine terrain, the weather changes through out the day. Bring both a warm jacket and a rain jacket if you plan to hike full days. We provide linens & towels. We have storage for skis, bikes or any other outdoor equipment. We have plenty of fridge space. We would greatly appreciate if you can bring your own food. At our price point, we provide only tea. Please bring along coffee, olive oil, eggs, cream, fruits and any other item that you plan to consume during your visit. Cell phone coverage can be patchy. ATT works at the house. We also have a phone line available. Verizon does not work in our house. We don't have a lot of coming and going. We are not a "party" house in that respect. It's pretty peaceful up here, day or night. Please note that our high season period is May 1st - Nov 1st. As you might have noticed, our cancelation policy is moderate. If you cancel your reservation the day prior to your projected arrival, we will not be processing a partial or a full refund. It is time consuming for us to go through that process.
