The SpaceThe Duck Inn Room, was the room of Mary Ward whose family purchased the residence from Samuel Street in 1900. Mary Ward ((PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)) lived in the home her entire life and during her later years, she divided the house into several apartments, renting them out during World War II. In fact, the current door to the room was once a closet and now guests over six foot may need to 'duck' their heads to enter a room with an eleven foot ceiling! Tasteful appointments and refined decorative treatments make this quaint, warm-hued room one of our most popular. A smaller room, but delightful in every way. Private bath, of course, with a cast iron tub ideal for a long soak and a great shower in a tiled enclosure. The SpaceThe Basin Street Room harkens back to when Samuel Street built the home c.1882, and this cozy room was the upstairs bath, kept comfortable by the fireplace, decoratively in place today. The name refers to the room's original purpose (Basin) and owner (Street) and also to New Orleans' famed promenade where your innkeepers enjoyed their honeymoon. Stylish artwork depicting the French Quarter lends sophisticated charm to this quaint room with a pencil-post queen bed. The private bath with a walk-in shower features a shower tower with six body jets, rain shower head and a hand-held (URL HIDDEN) bathtub, but who needs one with luxury like this?
