The SpaceThe cabin was built by our grandparents in 1951 to serve as a summer home for the family who lived in Middlebury, Vermont. It was used as a summer home for the following three decades. The cabin has remained in the family, but life paths do not allow it to be used as a summer home any longer. The cabin has all the charm it once did, and not much has changed! The front porch is partially screened in so guests can sit in the peace and quiet and listen to the sounds of the ocean, the buoy at the mouth of the harbor, and the wildlife. This is the perfect place if you are looking for peace and quiet! Very limited views of the neighboring houses. There is no television, and cell service is limited so it is the perfect retreat for those who like to "get away from it all!". Guest AccessYou will have access to the whole cabin, but we do ask that you don't use the ladder and/or access the loft (we are not responsible for any injuries sustained during your stay!). Interaction with GuestsThere will not be any interaction with the owner. You will be provided with the code to the key safe and information about the cabin, but no one will be present during your stay. Other Things to NoteLinens not provided - you will have to bring your own sheets, pillowcases and towels. If you absolutely cannot bring your own, please contact us for options. The cabin is heated by a wood burning stove, and you will have to chop wood and man the stove.
