The SpaceThe little English cottages are small and very romantic. Our friends fondly refer to our property as "Hairy Potterville" We have a very romantic walkway that meanders through the property from the parking area, passed all the gardens and cottages, through the garden courtyard to the Inn next door and the access to the canal tow-path. Guest AccessYou have access to all shopping, entertainment, museums, art galleries, local Polo matches, live music venues, churches, book stores, many great restaurants and cafes... Interaction with GuestsWe walk our guests through the property when they first arrive and make sure they know how to get to the Inn at Philips Mill restaurant and the canal tow-path for walking or bike riding... We live here in our little English village also but we all have privacy. Walking out to the parking area, we often see our guests and ask them how their stay is going... The NeighborhoodOne of Bucks County's most fabled properties. Built in 1905 Morgan Colt who was an architect, iron worker, wood worker, and painter, built his little English village to look like it was 900 years old. Each one of the little English cottages was used for a specific purpose. One cottage, a wood working shop, another cottage was is iron forge and another used for his painting studio. One cottage was an old Abby in England 1000 years ago and was in ruin in 1905 when they had it disassembled and brought it here to be re-constructed on Morgan's property. The historic little river towns of New Hope, Pa and Lambertville, NJ are just a mile from our property which you can also walk to on the canal tow-path located at the edge of our property. The tow-path stretches on for many miles and is great for walking, or riding bikes. This area of Bucks County is one of the most desirable shopping destinations in the country. Peddlers Village, down town New Hope and Lambertville all have unique shops that attract people from all over the world. The New Hope area has become a "foodie" paradise over the last 10 years with over 50 restaurants located within 3 miles away and many more surrounding those! Many museums, art galleries, cafes, live music venues... there is so much to see and do and all within just a few miles from here. Getting AroundWe have Trans-bridge busses that go to and from New Hope to Newark International Airport and NYC... We have bike rentals and taxi service in New Hope: (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN). And you can walk or ride bikes to down-town New Hope (aprox 1 mile) along the canal tow-path ;-) Other Things to NoteThere are two Laundromats located within 2 miles from here. We have many art galleries, Wineries, and Museums/Castles for you to visit. Lots of night life and live music. Some of the greatest shopping destination are all within 5 miles ;-) We have over 50 great restaurants within just 2 miles of your cottage and our favorite restarant is located right here on the edge of the little English village. So much history here for you to see and learn about.

Please dont inquire about pets) Situated on one of Bucks County's most fabled properties in the historic hamlet of Philips Mill and just 1 & 1/2 miles from downtown New Hope, Pa. sits our private little English village property which we call "The Gothic English Village". Renowned Architect, Painter, Iron worker, and Wood worker, Morgan Colt built this extraordinary village at the turn of the century to be his residence. Being that we are located on the canal, you can walk or ride your bikes on the towpath one mile into downtown New Hope, PA or Stockton, NJ. In Stockton there is an 'indoor' great farmers market which is open on weekends all year. New Hope is a famous river town that dates back before the revolution. For over 100 years, New Hope has been a well known art community. Another main attraction is the local 'Bucks County Playhouse which was home-away-from-home to many of Hollywood's greatest stars in the 1940's and 1950's many of whom later made New Hope their permanent home. Note: PLEASE don't inquire about one night stays or pets.Other Activities: If you like shopping, then you'll love New Hope, Pa. Located just a 5 minutes down the road is Peddler's Village. It was originally built to look like a Colonial village with 80 unique quaint little shops dotted along the meandering herringbone brick walkways. All throughout the shopping village are beautiful gardens with waterfall fountains and koi ponds. Great restaurants there too... and if that isn't enough, you also have all the outlet stores just across the street! Also right nearby are two great flea markets for those who like to get up early on Tuesday or Saturday mornings to get the good stuff :-)We also have 8 wineries that give tours, one great art museum (Michener Art Museum) and two other museums which are castles: Font Hill Museum and Mercer Museum. In addition to everything else, we have all kinds of historic tours you can take, boat rides on the river, a train ride on an old steam engine that takes you through the heart of Bucks County OR you can watch a local polo match...

Enjoy the beauty of Bucks County while sleeping in the oldest home in New Hope. It is a Historic landmark, located on the banks of the Delaware River. Located right in town, so you can walk anywhere in New Hope, or cross the bridge and you're in Lambertville, NJ. The house has all the charm of the 1700's, but has been updated for your enjoyment. There are fireplaces in both bedrooms, as well as the family room and living room. The house is a perfect "get away" for a long weekend or vacation lasting weeks. The house works well for four people, but you can put the fifth on the sofa bed in the family room. Each of the bedrooms have comfortable bed with views to the river. The family room has the "Lazyboy" for those afternoons of just lazying around and enjoying the sounds of the river. You are a 20 minute ride to Princeton, and New York City is a little over an hour away by train. But remember, you do not have to leave the area. New Hope and Lambertville have numerous antique stores and of course the famous flea markets. There are many charming restaurants that you can walk to and the walking trails are just at the end of the block..
