The SpaceSpacious and serene master bedroom with period ambience and a private balcony with pleasant outlook over the rear garden. The room gets morning sun and is generally cool in the evenings. This room is furnished with a queen bed, bar fridge, 1 chest of drawers, 2 bedside lamps, open wardrobe, fan/heater and a small chair/table. The balcony has a wooden table and two chairs. There is a lock on the balcony door. It's an extremely quiet house and street and suits people seeking a more sedate alternative to noisy hostels. Check in is any time after 3pm, earlier if there aren't any departing guests. Departure is before 12 noon, later if there aren't any arriving guests. I can hold a small amount of luggage for you - no risk accepted - in my store room for up to a week. I can also accept/hold mail for people who have a booking. Enjoy your stay! p.s. This property has several steps from the house to the front gate which might be difficult for people with limited mobility. Guest AccessKitchen, bathroom and toilet (shared), lounge with TV, washing machine and line. Also available: - towel(s) - electric blanket - extra pillow - iron and ironing board - tourist information, maps, bus timetables, etc. - electrical adapter for international plugs - books about Tasmania (a small collection, but expanding!) You have access to the washing machine and clothes line if required, daytime only. There's a pleasant back yard if you would like to sit out on the lawn. Interaction with GuestsI'm usually around; NOT always contactable by phone. I like to spend some time on the first day of your stay making sure your plans for your time in Hobart are workable. After that you're away! Sometimes there are social things going on that you might like to join. The NeighborhoodSee below. Getting AroundOur location is a short bus ride to the centre of Hobart and an easy stroll to the busy local shopping strip of Moonah that has services such as banks, post office, chemist, department stores, supermarket and other shops. There are plenty of food options (Thai, African, vegetarian, Turkish, Indian, Western, Japanese, pizza, take aways, fried McCrap, etc), cafes and pubs within 1km. Other local sights include Runnymede, Cathedral of St John, GASP and Mt Stuart lookout. Bike hire is available if you would like to do some exploring via the intercity cycleway that links Hobart to Glenorchy. Moonah is about halfway between the city centre and what is now Tasmania's most visited attraction, the spectacular Museum of Old and New Art. Bike hire is $15/day, $80/week including bicycle, helmet and lights. On-street car parking is generally available although sometimes you might not find a spot right in front of the house. If you are here on rubbish night I may ask you NOT to park right in front of the house as the narrowness of the street means the rubbish truck won't be able to enter. Other Things to NoteOccasionally the kitchen is not available. These times are known well in advance so you can work around them. Washing machine is available midday-6pm. There is no dryer but clothes can be dried on the outside line or indoors on a rack.
