The SpaceAll carpentry and general installation was done by myself, thus unique.
The house, which is also my residence, albeit built in the 50s, has been retrofitted to be as much green as possible. It has the domestic hot water heated by a solar system and the sun also generates electricity to the whole house making it, averaging the year, self sufficient in terms of electricity.
Extra attention has been given to thermal insulation as well.
The bedroom and bathroom are independent rooms separated from the kitchen/living room which, btw, for insurance reasons, is not supplied with utensils to cook; just to prepare or warm up quick and simple meals in the small convection oven or microwave besides to be used for the breakfast. A refrigerator is part of the kitchen's appliances besides the coffee grinder and percolator. There are organic coffee ground/beans to be ground at your will and taste as well as all the goodies in the refrigerator. Guest AccessThe premise has an independent entrance at the back of the main house but, has a few steps to access. The Queendom, albeit part of the house, is a completely independent unit from the house.
If you drive an EV (100% electric, as I do), a reminder that a recharging station type 2 is available with no extra costs. Interaction with GuestsI hope that I can please with your stay, in any way. In that context, please inform, in a time-wise manner, if any allergies or dislikes exist and please, do not hesitate to gift me with the approximate arrival (and departure) times.
Thank you! The NeighborhoodWith a quiet neighborhood and the bed's location in a free from geopathic stress-lines, a healthy and unstressed sleep is a strong part of a real relaxed stay at the Queendom. Getting AroundThe parking is off street. Only a small itinerary city bus passes nearby. Driving to and around the premises with a car is still the best way to go but, if you'd consider coming upstate by train, airplane or bus, I'll gladly pick you up at the train station (Salisbury Mills/Cornwall if by NJT or Beacon, on the east side of the Hudson River, if by MTA or Poughkeepsie if by AMTRAC); bus (Newburgh bus terminal), Ferry (Newburgh) or Steward International Airport and charge a modest fee of U$ 15.00 if you'll stay only a single night.
Bicycles are available (just let me know upfront so I can inflate their tires...). If you drive an EV, a recharging station is available for you. I'll be happy to assist you to make your battery make it back! Other Things to NoteAll possible food served is organic and if in season, from the own garden.
The bread is also self home-baked with exclusively organic ingredients (whole grain & stone ground) and will be served at mutual convenience in the morning, after your arrival. During winter time, a wood-fired brick oven is used to bake and some are then frozen for future use. I normally bake whole wheat multi-grain, roasted garlic or simply italian style bread; please manifest your preference after making the reservation so I can be prepared to match your taste. Thank you.
Please anticipate any relevant information about food allergies or whatever you can't tolerate. I'd like to resonate with your needs/desires. Thank you.
Again, the independent entrance of the space is in the back of the house, just across the greenhouse and the steps to access it are between the detached garage and the house.
