The SpaceEnjoy the lake "Up North". Our clean, comfortable room overlooks Hess Lake, a 750 acre all sports lake. We are in a rural setting yet only 3 miles from downtown Newaygo. We are on an all sports lake so you may think it's busy. Actually in the summer, especially during the week, it's very quiet and relaxing. Most weekends are pretty quiet too. During the summer you can dine on the outdoor patio at Smuggler's and watch the "boat parade". The fall colors are beautiful and winter on the lake is awesome. We love to have guests! The SpaceThe beautiful Muskegon River is what you'll see as you drink your morning coffee and throughout the day. Guest AccessWe've got enough beds in one room for most kids and two spacious queen size beds in the two other rooms. It's very nice for meeting with another couple you haven't seen for a while. Under those conditions, the second bathroom really comes in handy! Interaction with GuestsOnce you arrive, we check to make sure you have everything you need and that you know how to get where you want to go. We make sure you know how to reach us and then step back and let you enjoy. We're only a couple hundred feet away but you'll have all the privacy you desire. The NeighborhoodWe are about 15-20 minutes from Newaygo, Fremont or Grant, Mi.. You can be in Grand Rapids or Muskegon, Mi. in less than an hour. The Muskegon River is in your back yard. There are many species of fish and many great guides in the area to choose from. With a great cabin and a great guide you can have a trip of a lifetime. If Fishing is not for you, there is always Tubing, Kayaking, canoeing or just relaxing on the deck and watching other people go by. Getting AroundRemember, it's a cabin in the woods. Some of our guests have better cell phone signal than others. You aren't far from it. Also, we're right next door with a landline for emergency. Other Things to NoteThere is a small local grocery within a couple miles for small things you may have forgotten. We recommend you buy most of your food supply at a larger store for better pricing. There is a restaurant/bar about 2 miles away. It will feel like you are way out in the country but, you can be at a Super Walmart in 20 minutes.
