We live in the "Garden City" which is the second name for Newton. In deed, Newton is a beautiful city, surrounded by large homes and gardens. Our home is in walking distance to stores, restaurants and transportation to Down Town Boston (12-25 min. by train) . We live on a quiet road near Newton Center and by Newtonville Center. We are hosting students/families for many years, and enjoy the beauty of the "extended family " we have all over the world. I love cooking and you can enjoy many tasty treats, during the stay. Our family time is a joy, with some indoor and outdoors activities, depends on the seasons and weather. My son is 16 years old and as any other American teen, he enjoy earning his independence. He is polite, and at times, adds a lot of lough during dinner time....( lower price for students with valid USA student ID, and if stay more than 207 nights.) The price: $ 120 is for two people in one room. International students are welcome here!! We live one minute walk to bus stop and train, but it is very quiet outside! We do have two full bathrooms, but the only one (The big nodern one-see picture) is available for Homestay guests. Our location allow an easy excess to Boston, Brighton, Alston, Watertown, Wellesley, and more... Did I mentioned that our beautiful home location will bring you much closer to all the above cities , restaurants, supermarket and more! Laundry services are available but not included.

The Park Lane, which provides a sweet alternative to the hub-bub of Boston, is conveniently nestled in the quiet tree-lined streets of Newton, a lovely suburb just West of the city. This large Baronial style stucco, is a quick 7-10 minute walk to the MBTA stop. Convenient and accessible, the "T" (our light rail system) gets you to the heart of Boston in just 20 minutes. There you can meander around easily by foot to visit our new Aquarium, Museum of Fine Arts, the Children's Science Museums, not to mention Fanueil Hall/Quincy Market, the USS Constitution, Beacon Hill and many other historical, amusement and athletic sights. Dine both in Boston and Newton at a variety of American and Ethnic restaurants before you take in a show or the symphony. Jim, a life-long resident (and bicyclist), well- versed on the area, will gladly assist your travel needs and can provide access to rental cars. Two very private guest rooms on the third level are furnished with antiques, share a bath and a hall skylight. A second level third room with private whirlpool bath, queen bed, dressing room and many other amenities, provides a quiet view through the trees. Guests can relax on the lovely front porch (weather permitting). Reservations are required and must be reserved by a credit card.

The SpaceIn an apartment on the first floor of a home in Newton Centre, the guest bedroom is furnished with a brand new Queen sized bed, new windows, and plenty of space for luggage and personal belongings. A shared bathroom is right down the hall, as is the kitchen and other rooms in the front part of the house. It is quiet in the back of the house and the room has its own thermostat, a window A/C unit, wifi access, and will come with sheets/towels, closet space, a dresser for your clothing, etc. Your room is always clean and private. It is two blocks from the Newton Centre Green Line T stop, plenty of buses, and all the shops and restaurants of Newton Centre. As well, it is very close to I-95, Route 9 or the Mass Pike. You're welcome to use the fridge and do some light cooking if you're stay will be lengthy. (Please note that the kitchen is Kosher style - and I do not allow shellfish or pork products in the house. Thanks!) This apartment is perfect for commuting on the T for med school interviews around Longwood, celebrating graduations from the various Boston area colleges, attending conferences in the area, or sightseeing around town. It is less ideal for you if you plan to spend a lot of time hanging out at home, though you are always welcome in the main living space, too. If you are looking for a place that looks and feels more like a hotel than someone's home, my apartment is not a good match for you. The kitchen and overall apartment is dated - i.e. not particularly cute, but spacious and functional and clean. Guest AccessI have a beautiful porch with an awesome adirondack chair; you are welcome to use the free laundry in the basement - with my detergent and dryer sheets; join me in the living room for silly tv shows. Interaction with GuestsI am a very casual host and am in and out of the house during your stay, while occasionally working from home. I really appreciate coordinating morning showers and, as needed, use of the tandem drive way. (Bring a car from April-November, no problem there is overnight street parking!) FYI: I'm a busy professional and when I'm home, I hang out in the living room - and it very much looks like I live here, with stuff on the coffee table, etc. I am happy to answer questions, chat, share a drink, or let you enjoy your own privacy in the back room. I look forward to meeting you! Other Things to NoteIf I'm not home when you arrive, I leave a key for you in a location I'll share with you the day before you check in!

The SpaceThe house has four levels and the guest suite is in the basement. It is completely dry, private and quiet. There are four windows but they are close to the ceiling rather than at eye level. Shades are provided for privacy but can be raised to let in more light. Though the suite technically sleeps four, it is ideal for one person, a couple or a couple with a child. In addition to the entire lower level, guests will also have access to the half bath on the ground floor, and to the front porch and back yard. We are busy people so will probably have limited interaction with guests. However, we are also friendly and will be happy to give you directions, make suggestions for places to go and things to do, and even do a load of laundry for you! The neighborhood is residential and is in close proximity to a park, shops, restaurants, public transportation, Dunkin' Donuts, Whole Foods, and a beautiful public library. There is a north-south bus that runs a block away and both the Newton Centre and Newton Highlands T (subway) stops are a ten-minute walk away. Boston's Logan Airport is accessible via the T. Free parking is available on the street between April 15 and November 15 and in an adjacent parking lot at other times of year. This suite is down a flight of stairs and is therefore not handicapped accessible. There is a sump pump on the same level that activates during rainy periods; if you are a light sleeper it might bother you. We use environmentally-friendly cleaning products and launder with perfume and dye-free detergent. Three days notice is required when making a reservation. The SpaceWe use only natural cleaning products. No chemical smells. We are shoeless all the time inside, very clean. Our little Village of the big town of Newton has everything close by. If we are talking about just a house- a professional Spin bike, a trampoline, basketball hoop, scooters, large deck, piano, guitars, WiFi, Hulu, Netflix. We of course respect whatever their wants and needs are. We are friendly and welcoming to strangers and may want to meet folks staying in our home if we were here at the same time. I would be open to showing someone around and explaining how things work but would be open to phone calls instead with any questions if directions were unclear. Quick walk to woods, walking paths, and neighborhood strolls. Beautiful old homes. Well kept. Friendly. Close to cute Main Street with everything from Sushi and Steak to excellent Vegan, Greek Pizza and old fashioned Diner. Upscale shopping and large playground. Free music and movies every Friday during summer. Much to love Everything is convenient. Trolley (the T), buses, uber cars, walking. The Main Library is very close. Food stores, drug stores. A beautiful lake. Guest AccessOur little Village of the big town of Newton has everything close by. The NeighborhoodThis neighborhood is quite and safe.My place is located in the "Newton", the safest and most beautiful upscale living 20 minutes distance from Downtown of Boston. It is approximately 7 miles (11 km) west of downtown Boston and can comfortably sightseeing to the Boston Downtown with the safe green line of major subway lines . Newton's proximity to Boston along with its historic homes, good public schools, and safe and quiet neighborhoods make it a desirable community for those who commute to Boston. Newton is served by three modes of mass transit run by the MBTA: light rail, commuter rail, and bus service. My house is walking distance to Newton Center where you can find restaurantes, cafes, CVS, banks. There're a bakery across street with delicious pastry recommended to try and a Mediterranean Grill.
