The SpaceNo. 6 on Church is a cottage that was built in the mid-1800s, and in 2015 it was completely renovated to its current form as a self-catering unit. Where possible, the original woodwork was retained, giving rise to clean-cut modern accommodation with an old Karoo flavour. The cottage operates as a single unit (you won't share other people), and accommodates 1 to 6 guests, as well as a baby and a toddler. Larger groups can be accommodated if you don't mind being a bit cramped! The cottage has three bedrooms: the main bedroom has a queen bed and a cot, while the twin bedrooms have one single and one three-quarter bed. The larger twin bedroom also has a toddler bed. The main bedroom has an en-suite bathroom (shower and bath), while the other two bedrooms share the second bathroom (shower only). Each bathroom has its own geyser, ensuring hot water for all. The comfortable living-room seats five and has a 49" TV with DSTV Premium and a 6-place table for meals. The kitchen is fully equipped with plenty of storage space for groceries, and has a fridge, microwave and a gas stove with an oven (perfect for load-shedding times!). An air-conditioner in the living-room cools or warms (a winter necessity!) the whole cottage. Off the kitchen is the newly-built stoep (veranda) which has a built-in braai (barbecue). The garden is fully fenced, and guests are welcome to bring their pets (but please confirm first). The cottage has a remote-control alarm system for guests' peace of mind. Guest AccessOwn garden with off street parking. Use of swimming pool and play area in main property. Interaction with GuestsGentle four by four trips to outlook spots for sundowners and beautiful views of the Karoo, join us for dinner, ask us for ideas of where to go in the area! Other Things to NotePet-friendly by prior arrangement, children welcome, we have a play area, sand pit and swimming pool and two children (boys aged six and eight) of our own.

The SpaceThe house is a tribute to a bygone era, restored meticulously by its owners and furnished with love and madness. Uncompromising style and comfort mix with whimsical pieces of furniture and art. The house boasts three large stone fireplaces, wrap around veranda and large entertaining areas. If you wish to cook outdoors in the lovely summer evenings, it has a large area to barbecue outside the kitchen, including a wood burning outdoor oven. Seven en-suite bedrooms either on separate buildings or accessible from the veranda insure ultimate privacy. The kitchen is fully stocked with every possible cooking utensil you may need and includes a large walk in fridge. Local Chef is available to stock your fridge with any requirement of food or drinks or to leave you fully prepared meals, at an extra charge. Meerlust wines available to be purchased from our personal wine cellar. Guest AccessGuests have access to everything. All you have to do is ask Johan, the caretaker Interaction with GuestsJohan lives 5 minutes from the house and is available for any necessity The NeighborhoodThere is nothing but nature around you: It's beauty is overwhelming as it can be harsh if the rains delay. A thunderstorm may bring hail in the middle of a hot day, followed by extraordinary rainbows and a sky so filled with stars van Gogh would want to paint it. It is a landscape of heroic proportions and beauty that leaves any weary traveler restored. Getting AroundOther than our horses, thankfully no. A dirt road of 5 km from the homestead takes you to the public tar road. You are then 20 km from Middleburg, the nearest town. Other Things to NoteThe farm is 7-8 hour drive from either Johannesburg or Cape Town, in the proper center of the country, the Great Karoo. It is 3.5 hours drive from the airports of Port Elizabeth or Bllomfonteing. 4 wheel drive vehicles not required to access the estate. Cleaning staff of 2 plus gardener available all days and part of the package. There are numerous hikes of different levels of difficulty, horses can be ridden, and there is a farm pick up that you can use to drive around the reserve in search of the many species we stock: Zebra, Gemsbock, Blesbock, Impala, Springbock, Wilderbeast, Kudu and many other smaller species. All you need to do is ask Johan for ideas. Help yourself to the various vegetables from our vegetable garden, very near the house.
