You can hunt all week and rarely see another hunter. Guest AccessA 30,000 acre island. During the summer there are other guests / fishermen cabins on the island. Closest is 2 kilometers away.       The Rock Island Lodge is a 4 bedroom sanctuary on a wilderness island in Alaska. We have solar and wind powered electricity, hot showers, and delicious meals. Winter Cross-country skiing is superb; we often get 2 meters of snow. With fresh snow almost daily you will always be on glittering powder. A moonlight ski is exuberant! We build snow caves and you can spend the night; or just relax in the candle lit cave with a hot rum drink. In summer there is kayaking, hiking, photography, salmon fishing, fresh sushi and baked salmon of course. Moose steaks are always delicious with a glass of red wine. Get your fill of summer raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries in summer and fall. Price includes all meals on the island. It does not include transportation to the island. That is usually by private charter flight. The place takes 4 people with luggage and is about $125/person. I can make the reservations for you. We are open year round, but prefer booking several months in advance, especially during the popular August and September hunting and fishing months.         Bryn-Teg Cottage, Welsh for house on a hill, is a charming, clean, 1200 plus square foot house with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms on a private, beautifully landscaped ground. The one bedroom features a queen size bed, the second bedroom, a full size bed and a full size sofa sleeper in the living room. Also the heated attached garage has 4 twin size beds set up for larger groups. Other features include washer, dryer, dish TV, internet, bbq on wrap around deck and freezer. The cottage is fully furnished right down to Homers own locally roasted coffee. It is also tastefully decorated with an Alaskan Antique theme, with many pictures, curios and books on the 49th State. The Cottage is located on East Skyline Drive, a picturesque drive less than 6 miles from downtown Homer No matter the season, there is always something to do in the area. Bird watching is popular year round, as eagles soar above Bryn-Teg looking for food in both winter and summer. Within eyeshot of the cottage lies a nesting ground for magnificent sand hill cranes. A short walk from Bryn-Teg Cottage is the Wynn Nature Center. Crossman Ridge Trail is also nearby and it is a beautiful bike, hike or ski, which eventually leads to the Homestead Trail on Diamond Ridge. For a shorter hike or ski, you can't beat the trip down to Twitter Creek, a small stream where you are sure to see some beavers. A peaceful garden partially surrounds Bryn-Teg Cottage, that moose seem to flock to in the spring, summer, and fall. In the spring it is not uncommon for baby moose to be born nearby or even on the property itself. Some of the many animals that are also our good neighbors are rabbit, bear, lynx, and coyotes. After a day of fishing, biking, hiking, skiing, berry picking or sightseeing, you will look forward to returning to the cottage to watch the beautiful sunset of Cook Inlet. This beautiful immaculate home has 3 bedrooms, a loft area with a sofa/convertible bed, 2 bathrooms, living room, dining area, and a Full Kitchen with all the amenities of home. Throughout the house you'll enjoy log accents, warm wood ceilings and a variety of Alaskan animal mounts as well as custom ---locally made furniture made from beetle killed Spruce. You can relax by the gas fireplace, sit in the loft area or on the covered deck while enjoying spectacular Sunsets and quite often Eagles flying over head. The Ninilchik and surrounding Kenai Peninsula area provides World Class Fishing for Salmon, Halibut and Rainbow Trout. You can fish the banks of nearby Ninilchik, Deep Creek and Anchor Rivers, ocean charter for Halibut locally, or take a guided fishing tour-just 30-40 miles N. on the Famous Kenai, Kasiloff or Russian Rivers. The drive from Anchorage is 180 miles and is filled with scenes of Mountains, Glaciers, Rivers, and possibly wildlife such as moose, bear, sheep, and eagles.                 Breathtaking view of Mt. Redoubt (a volcano) across Cook inlet. Cosy private two story cabin on bluff above cook inlet. Property is 2 1/2 acres, half wooded. Located in Ninilchik, 30 minutes from Kenai and 45 minutes from Homer. Minutes away from several lakes and rivers. Bald Eagles are reliably seen flying by the cottage or even perched on the bluff. Watch for the common delight of seeing a Moose on the property, Fish from the banks of the nearby Ninilchik River, or take a guided fishing tour on the Kasilof, Kenai or Russian Rivers. Fish for sockeye's, silvers, rainbow trout, and dolly varden, depending on the season. Not recommended for pets or small children because of sharp drop of over 150 feet from bluff to ocean. There are three bedrooms upstairs. One has a queen bed, another has 2 double beds and the third has two twin beds. The downstairs bedroom has a double bed.                 Cabin includes a master bedroom with a queen bed and a loft with two additional queen beds. Also includes a full bath with washer and dryer, and a full kitchen. Property also includes a detached guest cabin that sleeps three. Barbecue grill on the deck of the main cabin and a fire pit (with plenty of firewood) behind the guest cabin. The guest cabin includes a freezer for storing your catch until you are ready to leave. A vacuum sealer is also provided for the benefit of our guests.

                  Fool's Inn cabin is conveniently located right next door to Fishing Fool Charters in the heart of Ninilchik. This is a one room cabin with two sets of bunk beds (twin on top and queen on bottom). There is a privacy curtain separating one set of bunk beds from the rest of the cabin. The bathroom has a shower and all linens and towels are provided. There is a kitchenette with all the amenities. An outdoor grill is provided and there is a fire pit next door. Fishing Fool Charters has a fish cleaning table you are welcome to use and fish processing is offered on site. Two commercial vacuum packers and a walk in freezer as well as FedEx shipping are available. Our cabin is minutes away from the beach, rivers, and Deep Creek boat launch as well as being centrally located between Homer and Kenai/Soldotna.

                  Halfway between Soldotna and Homer, 3 miles off the highway, in the peace and quiet, you are right in the middle of world class views, fishing, clamming, hunting, skiing and snow-machining. Giant sandhill cranes fly by, or sometimes land and walk by; you may find their loud calls to be very familiar after your stay. You're also likely to see lots of moose and some eagles. There's a fire pit and picnic tables right across from the cabin, which you're welcome to. The cabin has a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and loft. While the place is quite rustic, there's a coin laundromat on site, a 30-second walk away. The 2 bunk beds easily sleep 4, and two more can sleep on mattresses in the loft. ($25/person/night extra for more than 4.) Linens and towels are included both for bunk beds and mattresses in loft.
