The SpaceStay in this comfy destination pivot point room. Thirty miles to Seattle via I-90 or eastward 20 miles to the unlimited beauty and hiking opportunities of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness area! We added a large shop/studio to our home and it includes a bonus bedroom above, fully finished with a 3/4 bath, sitting area and bed, small semi-kitchenette (hotplate, toaster oven, microwave, fridge) and easy access to I-90 west (Seattle) or east (Cascade Mountains). Hosts are very knowledgeable about options in both directions. On the property are one cat named Dr. Jones and one golden retriever named Parker who are friendly and do not go into the Loft. In addition, we have four hens who provide fresh eggs. The location is a quiet residential neighborhood cul-de-sac with low traffic and a pastoral view out back with horses, deer and a fire pit for your enjoyment. The Snoqualmie Valley/John Wayne/Iron Horse trail (no motorized vehicles) runs right past our neighborhood offering scenic bike, hiking or horseback opportunities for many miles in each direction. We are located near a number of whitewater/canoe options on the Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie River. The trailhead of one of the Western Cascades most visited trails, Mt. Si, is located just 2 miles from our house. And many more trailheads are within 15 miles, from easy day hikes to technical climbing. In the winter North Bend is still an easy 20 mile drive to skiing and snowboarding at Snoqualmie Pass. This location, just at the foothills of the Cascades, offers outdoor enthusiasts a blend of experiences yet is close enough to make day trips to Seattle quick and convenient. Guest AccessThe Loft, patio, and screened porch. Interaction with GuestsWe will respect your privacy unless you seek contact or information. The Loft is attached to the house but is quite separate. You may see Joe or Elaine working on a project in the shop/studio, feeding the chickens, maintaining the small pond, or working in the gardens as you come and go. The NeighborhoodAs one of our guests told us, "I love your place. It's so rural/urban." Our neighborhood still feels like you are out in the country, with the added bonus of being located between Seattle and the Cascade Mountains. Our neighborhood backs up to the 31-mile-long Snoqualmie Valley Trail, a retrofitted railgrade for pedestrians, cyclists, hikers and equestrians. The Trail connects to a 100-mile section of the John Wayne Iron HorseTrail, running Eastward to the Columbia River. We are very close to a trail that follows the south fork of the Snoqualmie River, along an Army Corps of Engineers levy. Enjoy solid local fare at the near-by Riverside Cafe. Getting AroundPublic transportation is sketchy. We advise a car, but several guests have toured on bike. Other Things to NoteIt may be possible to enjoy a fire at the firepit. Ask us if you are interested and we will help, conditions permitting. It may also be an option to hang out and/or sleep on our screened porch if you are adventurous (summer only in the Pacific NW).

The SpaceEnjoy every square inch of the brand new tiny house cabin . . . and share a newly remodeled bathroom in our home which is about 40 steps away down a cobblestone walkway. The cabin has a brand new high quality Bassett queen bed with an upholstered head board and 4 full sized pillows for comfortable reading. Guests often report that it's more comfortable than their bed at home! There is an upper loft area with a single mattress. It's a great place to sleep and/or store luggage etc. It is also furnished with 2 quaint matching antique chairs. One rocks and the other one doesn't so you have the best of both worlds. Enjoy movies on a flat screen TV mounted on the wall which can be viewed from both the bed or the chairs. A DVD player is provided and you're welcome to borrow our family collection of movies. We can't promise dependable wi-fi but guests have reported accessing wi-fi and watching movies via their netflix accounts. The cozy cabin has a mini-kitchen with a granite counter, mini fridge and toaster/convection oven and an electric kettle. It is stocked with basic kitchen utensils along with paper plates, bowls, cups, napkins, paper towels and plastic utensils. It is also stocked with bottled water and a large water thermos for drinking and utility water. Help yourself to the house kitchen sink and bathroom for running water. It is stocked with shampoo/conditioner and body wash. Towels are provided and guests hang them on the back of the door. There is a cabinet above the toilet and the bottom shelf is reserved for guests. You may notice the sound of traffic outside due to our close proximity to the freeway. We fondly refer to it as "the river". Freeway noise is common in North Bend because our town is snuggled up to the freeway. Most people don't notice it. The cozy cabin is a good fit for guests who make themselves at home and feel comfortable entering our home to use the bathroom no matter if there's no one at home or if we have company. Our home is currently occupied by Steve and I and our youngest 20 year old son. At times we have out of town company or friends who drop by. And no matter who is home or what is going on we want cabin guests to come and go from the bathroom as they need to. Cabin guests get top priority to the hallway bathroom.
