The SpaceOne large, 2-story room with two double beds: a bed on the main floor with a plush new mattress, and a comfy futon on the sleeping loft. There's a well-equipped kitchen perfect for making romantic dinners, with a brand-new fridge and commercial range (both spring 2016). There are both electric and drip coffee set-ups, and a toaster. No microwave. A large dining table (made by a local furniture building from local wood) for the amazing dinners you'll make, or to spread out your work on and find inspiration. The center of the space holds a comfy "living room" area (with a new couch as of Spring 2016) to hang out in. The cozy bedroom corner on the main floor and the futon on the sleeping loft make for dreamy night sleeps, both have fans and windows to stay cool in the summer. The full bath has a claw-foot tub. There is a radio & CD player, and iPod/Phone hook-up, wireless internet, and a land line. As you can see from the reviews, it's a very special place, intimate in size but expansive in feel, because of the cathedral ceiling and wall of windows with a view onto the meadow, creek, and sunset. It's a beautiful artistic/rustic interior, quirky, with a high level of comfort, many lovely rugs, and a lot of art. Perfect for an active vacation, a romantic get-away, or a creative, spiritual, or rejuvenating retreat. Guest AccessThe surrounding 22 acres of land are gorgeous in all seasons. There's great snowshoeing and cross-country skiing right outside. In the warm season, hang out in the outdoor living room nestled in a White Pine woods right outside the back door or swim in the creek that borders the woods. Walk .03 mile along the road pictured above and play in the waterfall or sun on the rocks near the covered bridge. A few miles away are Lake Champlain, hiking trails, and swimming holes. Explore Burlington, Middlebury, Vergennes, and Shelburne, and try their great restaurants, museums, and shopping, all within a half hour's drive. And don't miss the famous flatbread pizza served one night a week in winter and two in summer at Pizza on Earth, on a lovely farm 5 miles away, with a stop on the way to pick up beer or the perfect bottle of wine at Spear's country store. There's lots to see and do, but you might want to snuggle in and stay put. Interaction with GuestsI am always available by text or cell. I am generally not on site when the cabin is rented, but I respond quickly to any questions during the visit. I enjoy communicating with guests! The NeighborhoodGreat natural beauty with an intimate scale. Covered bridges, rolling hills, swimming holes, x-country ski trails, fresh eggs for sale across the road. A vibrant creek (actually a small river) borders the land with easy access for wading, swimming, and fishing. The neighborhood (accessible by car) also has cafés, restaurants, bakeries, markets, hardware, yoga . . . pretty much anything you'll need. Getting AroundYou'll need your own vehicle, it's in the country without public transportation. Other Things to NoteYou'll also find books, CDs, Scrabble, Backgammon, and puzzles. And a lot of information on local attractions.

The SpaceOur guesthouse was built on our property in 2005 and sits within a meadow next to an apple orchard on 16 acres. It has an open floor plan in the living space and high ceilings giving it an airy, light feeling. There is one bedroom with a queen bed, and one full pull out couch. One bathroom with a walk in shower. Cozy in the cold with radiant floor heat! The house has a TV and we keep a collection of movies there that we love, but note that we don't subscribe to cable so networks are not available. The property is secluded from the road, but main roads are easily accessible, with Burlington 17 miles north (30 minutes in regular traffic) and Vergennes 6 miles to the south, a cute town with great restaurants, cafes and shopping. Plenty of out door space to lounge around, secluded from our house next door. Starry Night Cafe is 5 minutes south for those who don't like to cook! Many other restaurants within 15 minutes of the house by car. Montreal can be an easy day trip, about two hours north, and Mad River Valley ski resorts are about an hour. Closer skiing great for families with young children include Bolton Valley and the Middlebury Snowbowl, both 30 minutes. This house is best suited for a couple, a couple with children, or two couples that know each other well. Additional person requests will likely not be accepted as we'd like to keep the experience completely comfortable. Though we love dogs, we find it easier for all if the house remains pet free. We live in the big farmhouse next door with big glass garage doors and metal spheres surrounding the house, two Rhodesian Ridgebacks (friendly, pretty old dogs), and our 4 year old son. We are both artists with studios on site and grow lots of veggies in our large gardens. Expect to taste what's in season when you visit in the summer! Guest AccessThere is laundry onsite, full kitchen stocked with dishes, pots, pans coffee maker, coffee grinder, refrigerator, microwave, stove, and dishwasher, wireless internet, secluded outdoor patio with furniture, and 16 acres of meadow and woods. Interaction with GuestsWe tend to take cues from our guests about interaction--we're happy to leave you to enjoy the quiet and privacy of the cottage or give you tours of the studios, or vegetable garden on weekends, provide tips or invite you to country yoga. We are always in town when we have guests, but obviously go about regular life--work during the week and run errands on the weekend, so not always right on site, but reachable at any time by phone/text/email. The NeighborhoodWe have great restaurants so close by. And even though you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere, we're actually right off of Rt. 7, the major north/south artery of western Vermont, so amenities are not that far (by Vermont standards). Vergennes is only 6 miles to the south and has good food, cafes, shops, and a supermarket, and Burlington, 17 miles north, is full of culture, food and boutique shopping. Getting AroundWe recommend having a vehicle for this location unless you are really serious about just hanging out at home. We are just beyond convenient public transportation. There is a bus stop at the Mobile station on our corner (.5 mile walk) but the schedule is not that frequent and may not be an easy way to get here with bags in tow. CCTA is the public transit link, but without a car, you will rely on cabs. It would probably be cheaper to rent a car once in Burlington if you take a bus or fly in. Other Things to NoteGuests provide their own personal items and food. There is a small ipod player but it does need an adapter for an iphone 5 that guests should bring if needed. The TV is HD with HD dvd player, but no network or cable service.

It retains a rural character, yet is only 20 minutes from downtown Burlington, the state's largest city. The house has the best views imaginable, 180 degrees west southwest looking across Lake Champlain and the Adirondack mountains. Sunsets are to die for. The SpaceWe have a lovely first floor "suite" with marble topped antiques, which features a private full bath adjoining. The room has a Queen bed, cable, flat screen TV, complimentary paper, WiFi and a small refrigerator. The entrance hall has a coffee/tea/hot chocolate service available 24/7. We have "High Top" airbeds that can be put in the room for children. Guest AccessThe room and bathroom are connected by a small private hallway. Interaction with GuestsWe enjoy having guests. We're both very outgoing. In the morning I do the barn chores, but my husband loves to visit while he cooks your breakfast. We have a menu that features many of the farms products. Some guests just want to enjoy the stress free restful quiet of the country, others want to join me as I take care of animals. We have a deck that is surrounded by perennial beds, guests can read and relax there. Both are just fine with us. Children are welcome to help, but parents are expected to supervise their children at all times. Rams ram (no one but Chris and I go into pastures that have rams in them). The NeighborhoodWe're rurally situated, so neighbors aren't right next to us, but we can see them in a few cases. We are perched on a ridge that overlooks pastures, woods and mts. Getting AroundAround here your choices for transportation, really are walking, bike riding and your auto. There are some taxi cabs that do run between Charlotte and Burlington. Other Things to NoteVermont is a special place that offers just about everything a traveler could want. Our farm and B&B is located 12 Direct miles into Burlington and UVM. There's the waterfront with rental bikes and a bike path that goes for miles and miles. Echo museum chronicles life in Lake Champlain with live exhibits. Also, there are water sports, beaches, Shopping at LLBean, and for eclectic clothes, art and jewelry on Church St., hiking, fishing, dinner cruises. Students and parents can visit the 4 colleges and universities that are minutes away. There are tours of The Vermont Teddy Bear (very entertaining for young AND old), Lake Champlain Chocolates and Ben & Jerrys. Stowe is not to be missed, either. As for dining, we have restaurants for everyone's taste. Libby and Chris are always happy to suggest all types of dining experiences. They are more than happy to arrange your reservations.

The Counrty Mouse House was built in 1820 and served as a stage coach stop and inn for East Charlotte Vermont! Located half way between Middlebury College and the University of Vermont our guests enjoy a quiet pastoral setting and mountain views! The country kitchen is well provisioned and is much the same as it was in the early 1800's with the addition of modern stainless steel appliances! Exposed post and beam construction and original wide plank flooring provide our guests with a sense of Vermonts early history! Guests also enjoy two cozy country bedrooms, bathroom, sundeck and dinning room! Our yoga studio was built in 2010 and is available by appointment! Nearby attractions include Lake Champlain, the Shelburne Museum and a number of ski areas ( Bolton Valley, Sugarbush, Stowe)! For XC skiers we are 15minutes from several touring centers! The SpaceOur home is spacious and sits on 35 acres of land 1/4 mile from the road. We built it 18 years ago to raise three children who have grown and recently moved away. Your bedroom is large and sits over a double garage. It has a queen bed, a comfortable chair, lots of light from windows on three sides of the room, and an empty dresser ready for you to move your things in to. You have your private bathroom just off the sunny sitting room which is outside your door. You are welcome to use our laundry and ironing room. You are welcome to share our kitchen for simple meal preparation (we provide your morning coffee), and sit on our large wrap around porch at your leisure. This is a bucolic, quiet setting, with minimal traffic noise yet also very accessible to diverse locations (cities, small town life, Green Mountains, Lake Champlain). We do not have curtains on our windows and will provide eye shades should you need and not have your own. Tom and Wendy have lived in Vermont for 35 years and will enjoy sharing our local knowledge to help you enjoy your stay! Guest AccessWe have trails and roads that are lovely to walk on. You are welcome to use our porches. There is a sunny sitting room outside your bedroom with a comfortable leather chair, ottoman, and light ~ a cozy reading nook. Interaction with GuestsTom and Wendy are available to talk with you about favorite back roads, restaurants, hikes, bikes, and events happening around town and in neighboring communities. We want your stay to be a pleasant and memorable one! The NeighborhoodCharlotte borders Lake Champlain and is the landing for one of four ferry crossings from New York state. We are 45 minutes from Mad River Glen, Bolton, and Sugarbush ski areas. Charlotte is the town with the most farmed and open land in Chittenden County making it a lovely feast for the eyes, and it is just 10 minutes in to Shelburne Village where there is fine dining, quick pickup, wood fired pizza, an art gallery, Shelburne Museum, Shelburne Farms and a coffee shop that is as unique and wonderfully delicious as any in a major city! We are 15 minutes from Shelburne Museum and Shelburne Farms, and about 25 minutes to Middlebury. Getting AroundThere is no public transportation in our area.

"AFFORDABLE LUXURY" That is what you'll find at Bryn Meadow Farm. From our extensive perennial garden and deck, to the beautiful antiques furnishing your room. You'll realize we deliver on both luxury AND affordability. Children also will have a great time (if they wish) collecting eggs & helping feed the animals (supervised). Not only are we a B&B, but we really are a small farm and a special one at that. We are an Heritage Farm which means we raise old time farm animal breeds that have been near extinction. Shetland Sheep, Bourbon Turkeys (Red and White), Silver Lace Wyandotte (black and White spotted) Chickens and Roen Ducks (big mallard looking, but can't fly) and many more. We are a "natural" humane cage-free farm, too. You are welcome to help with chores or just relax.. There are several short paths around the property and wonderful dirt roads to explore. Elysabethe is a watercolor, pen and acrylic artist, whose work is in a number of private collections, including that of the late Malcolm Forbes. She does offer private lessons to guests if prearranged at an additional charge. Vermont is a magical place to visit. Mountains, lakes, quaint villages, world class skiing & hiking, farms and Burlington, all of which are a short drive from our farm. Additionally there are 5 Colleges/Universities nearby; Our road, Spear St, goes directly (12 miles) to the University of Vermont campus. We hope you include us on your trip to Vermont.
