We are the inside outside park secant call the BY way where many guests have found it preferable for access to water, rivers to fish in walking distance, lakes to boat and dine and one mile to get groceries , gas or dining and yoga and shops, where inside the park is very remote a you would be driving as there is no gas, groceries or stores inside the park. Our renters reviews on various sites have raved about great location to get to all quick and have convenience as well as only 26 miles to the south gate of Yosemite. Outside we have the Yosemite train, and yosemite shopping and golf course etc so much more to do for families and kids and all the beauty but quick accessibility to the inside gates (we are still considered yosemite outer park where folks have houses to rent and wont get snowed in or as cold.). House boasts Hardwood maple floors throughout and slate bathrooms and kitchen floors, granite and stainless steel kitchen. Hall bathroom has. Jacuzzi bath tub. Relax with views out your window, good main road to go to the museum, park, walk to river in 3/10 mile and swim or fish, picnic, walk the dogs or play baseball with the locals. One family posted our location was superior being in the by way of three parks, yosemite, Kings canyon and Sequoia national park as well as closer to Shaver lake for winter skiing than badger pass is inside the park that is more expensive and snowed in often.I think you will find this location very suitable for couples or families and groups. Again , reminder, Once Vacationers come to the Yosemite Scenic Loop they are amazed at all there is available. The rivers across our way, lakes, boating, swimming beaches at the lake, with Angel Falls that slide right into the lake for family fun and innertubbing. We have access to ammenities 1/2 mile to gas, grocery, Bass Lake ranger station, shops and restaurants, video store. You can fish and swim nearby as well as access full yosemite park up 274 exit out our entrance. Visit the Indian Mono Museum by our house and take a tour of the 40 mile loop trail of lakes, such as Redinger, Mammoth Pools and back country best camping with no crowds! even in summer we have backcountry access to Meadows, rivers, moutains and easy access to elevations from 3000 to 7000 to be cool in summer or get to snow in winter. Dont miss our year round modestly elegant house, and not a dusty cabin so often found in the parks. extra info: Thank you for your response, Let me know if you have any questions. WE have three local year round waterfalls within 7 to 10 miles of house . Cascadel Falls, Angel falls Close to post office and ranger station for trail guide maps and info on all the Sierras, Yosemite, Mammoth and Kings Canyon, Shaver Lake and Bass Lake amenities. Other Activities: Camping, boating, backpacking, shops, grocery 1/2 mile from house FYI on grilling We have a bbqmini weber that heats fast is fair size but not extra large and is on a stand, easy to maneuver. It takes those small mini propane coleman green colored gas tanks, about $5 at the store. I buy a pack of them but in summer folks go through them fast, I have maids but they don't do that aspect and I live in San Diego. Its my second home and I share as vacation home, some things in the mountains due to distance are hard to make sure they are always stocked with gas.

Just down the road from Fine Gold Retreat is beautiful Manzanita Lake. It is a perfect little lake with the most peaceful setting for fishing, swimming or just hanging out to feed the ducks. It even has built-in grills so you can BBQ a few hamburgers. Manzanita Lake is one of my favorite places. Trust me; you will not regret taking the time to visit this special place. It also has a family owned market. Fourth of July weekend is a busy time for North Fork and Bass Lake. The weekend of July 4th, North Fork hosts our annual Loggers Jamboree where professionals and amateurs alike can show off their logging and timber skills. People from all over the world come to celebrate the freedom of our wonderful country. The Neighborhood~Yosemite National Park is about 20miles to the South Gate. There is much to see and visit while you are in the park A must see while you are here! ~Bass Lake is only a 10 minute drive and has many swimming/boating pickining adventures. ~If you wanted to go for a walk, there is a gorgeous waterfall about a 10 minute walk down the gravel road we live on. Just make a right at the Cascadel road when you go down the driveway and follow pass the pond. Where the water flows over the road is the top, just make a right down the trail and follow as long as you like to see the falls over the ancient granite rock! There are also grinding holes at the very top -- on the other side of the water over the road, there is a beautiful lookout point, on a clear day you can see the valley and coastal mountains! ~A Vippassana Center (10 day silent meditation) is only a few miles away and our home can be the perfect "transition" place before returning to our busy lifestyles. ~Mono Hot Springs is for the adventurous ones who like to travel to the high mountains (over kaiser Pass 9,000 ft) to soak in the healing, ancient waters that the Native Mono traveled to for deep transformation... one of our favorite places to visit. ~Skiing at China Peak is about 2 hours drive in the winter months, a favorite place of our family. ~Many other lakes and stunning scenery to explore throughout the Sierras! Getting AroundSince we are in the mountains, there is no public transportation and you pretty much have to rely on your own car. One could just as easily not travel anywhere while they are here since there is so much to see just by foot! Other Things to NoteThis is mountain living, so wood burning stoves are used in the winter (though we have central heating). There is wood already dry and cut on the land that we have stored in our wood shed for your use. In the summer there is a swamp cooler, though the house keeps pretty cool. Also in the summer it is tradition to open the windows at night to let the cool mountain air inside, and then when the sun comes up, to close them... it works really nice at keeping the temperature comfortable and fresh air inside. ~Bring hiking boots for your walks, as there is no pavement. ***Also::: We are in a Severe Drought here in CA, and we ask all guest to be really conscious of water usage... Minimizing shower times and washing dishes with minimum water. Thank you !!
