The Space"Walden's Retreat" is a 1911 restored vintage house with an artist and writer as host. Just finished our second novel about the 18th century maritime explorers and their friendships with the indigenous leadership. (Shared with the Crystal Room across the hallway) Walking distance to Seabus to Vancouver, (15 minutes to Vancouver from Seabus) 10 minute walk to yoga studios, the Spirit Trail pathways, organic aromatherapy stores, the Lonsdale Quay fresh food market, and local seafood restaurants and independent coffee shops, There is a grocery store, vintage clothing stores and theatre all within a 10 minute walk from the house. There are walking paths through the parks to many shops and services on Lonsdale Avenue. Find tranquility in this quiet neighbourhood filled with parks and mature trees or go sightseeing and hiking to nearby Grouse Mountain, the Lynn Valley Canyon trails, or the Deep Cove and Ambleside ocean beaches. "Where the Ocean meets the Sky" Guest AccessThe second floor bedroom - "The Library Room" has a view of the ocean, the large heritage tree, and an eclectic variety of books for your reading pleasure. There is a Juliet style balcony off the second bedroom with a cafe table and two chairs with ocean view and large walnut tree for shade, across the hall bathroom, and the second floor lounge area which includes a guest fridge. There is a second bedroom as well across the hall - "the Crystal Room, named for the lovely crystal chandelier and spirit crystals on the window ledges. This room can be booked on the adjacent listing. The outdoor courtyard areas and front porch are all lovely in the warmer weather, or with a warm sweater and hot tea. (Breakfast is self serve - fruit, organic coffees and teas provided) Guests do share the front entrance door with the hosts. The entire second floor is for the BnB Guests. The clawfoot tub is a beautiful tranquil place to unwind. The bathroom is shared with the Crystal Room across the hallway. The kitchen on the main floor is also a shared space. (Light meal preparation only) Interaction with GuestsOn arrival, and at breakfast occasionally. Otherwise, we respect privacy and independence. Getting AroundThe seabus to Vancouver is a 10 minute walk, and there is bus transit a block away. Grouse Mountain is a 10 minute drive. Stanley Park and English Bay beaches are a 15 minute drive away. One 14 year old small Hungarian Puli dog in residence (Mutzi) She has hypo allergenic hair, and is not allowed in the guest rooms on the second floor.
