The SpaceWelcome! This charming self-contained cottage across the breezeway from Trewent Farmhouse, is on a rural property with the owners living up the hill. Rent this one or both together. Each one is completely self contained - own driveway own entry, full facilities etc. (As part of our farm stay business we like to leave you little surprises like fresh fruit in season, and you are able to buy home made jam from us too.) The little cottage: This is a lovely handmade house - it has a charming studio design, (bedroom and living area are one) with jarrah timber and stained glass windows. It has a separate bathroom and toilet and a little kitchen with hotplates microwave, kettle and toaster, ideal for couples (perhaps a child sleeping on the couch - check with us if a cot needed.) Nestled in a bush setting, tranquil and close to nature, the cottage has plenty of birds around and you may even see kangaroos on the property. Quiet and restful surroundings. Walk near the creek, sit on your private verandah and watch the rare firetail finches and the blue wrens and parrots, breathe in the forest air and see the stars at night. Things to do and see: - Great location from which to visit local attractions. - Book to dine at wonderful Foragers - Swim and picnic at Big Brook Dam. - Walk the Bibbulmun track. - Ride your mountain bike on the munda biddy trail nearby - Explore the karri forest. - Take the tram ride to the Cascades. - 4 wheel drive tour of the dunes - Drinks at sunset at Windy Harbour - Climb the big trees. - Enjoy degustation dinners at Foragers our best kept local secret! Or... just stay home and enjoy the tranquility and watch the birds. Price is for low season, 2 persons, one extra small person possible but you need to discuss with owner before booking. Guest AccessGuests have plenty of freedom to explore our place, we only ask that care be taken to keep gates shut as we have sheep and lambs at times. We can give you an idea of where to go and what to see. Interaction with GuestsWe live on the property and are just a short walk up the hill, so we are easily available if needed for advice on where to go or what to do. There may be other people staying in the farmhouse sometimes but you are quite independent and separate and have your own drive in, entrance, verandah and outlook. We like you to please yourselves about how much interaction you desire - but we are here if you wish to pay us a visit and have a chat. The NeighborhoodWe think our part of the world is pretty special - tranquil bush land setting, tall trees, a lazy creek, fruitful garden to share in season and a vast sky of stars at night, unspoilt by city lights. It is very lovely heating the sounds of the bush and the occasional lamb. You have plenty of space to play, to wander, to explore or just dream on the verandah! It's our little bit of paradise! Getting AroundYou will need a car but it's not far to the famous Bibbulmun walking track and Munda Biddi bike trail, plus a host of other local attractions. And walking around our farm has its own delights - you might see lambs, roos and certainly some rare and interesting birds! If you like fishing and have a valid freshwater licence you can fish for trout all year in Big Brook Dam - not far away. Our farm stay business allows you to experience nature's delights and breathe the fresh country air! And there is always our area's best kept secret - a dinner at wonderful Foragers just out of Pemberton. Look up their website as you need to book their long table dinners or cooking classes. Other Things to NoteWe supply good quality linen and bedding but it can get cold, even with cosy fires so bring warm clothes and sturdy shoes if you plan to walk in the bush in the colder months. A few little goodies are there for your first morning, ( tea, coffee, muesli, milk and fruits from the garden from time to time in season) and after this you are able to fill your fridge with your own supplies of wonderful produce from either Manjimup or Pemberton located in our southern forest food region.
