    You'll love our charming cottage in the village of Northport. This comfortable two-story cottage was remodeled in 2014 with new paint, furnishings, and kitchenware. It has three bedrooms with full beds, a full bath, and can comfortably sleep ten (there's a pullout couch in the living room and another in the loft). Linens and towels are provided, along with a washer and dryer. The living room has a television, a DVD player, movies, books, and games. The fully equipped kitchen has basic staples like dish soap, paper towels, glassware, dishes, cookware, utensils, etc. The screened-in front porch and beautiful, enclosed backyard offer private spaces to relax, a safe place for kids to play, and an outdoor shower. Located only three blocks from the beach and downtown Northport, you can easily walk to the public beach, marina, Haserot Park, Barb's Bakery, coffee shops, wine tastings, brewery, galleries, bookstore, shops, restaurants, bars, bowling alley, golf course, health club, grocery store, bank, post office, and more. During the summer, there's a free concert at Music in the Park every Friday night at the Northport Pavilion by the public beach and occasional fire-spinning at the Northport Brewery. Both are a short walk from the cottage. Only a short drive away, you'll find the Leelanau State Park, hiking trails, the Northport lighthouse, miles of beaches and scenic shoreline, 10+ wineries (and many more on nearby Old Mission Peninsula), cideries, numerous breweries, golf courses, bike trails, vineyards, and orchards, and the delightful nearby towns of Suttons Bay and Leland (where you'll find many more restaurants, galleries, shops, beautiful public beaches, and even shiatsu massage). The cottage is about 45 minutes from the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore or Traverse City. On-street parking in front of the house is not allowed, but the driveway can accommodate two cars. Check-in is 4:00pm and check-out is 10:30am.

    The SpaceThis is a modern house in an old frame, all of the modern amenities with the character of a 100 year old farmstead. Home includes a chefs kitchen, front load washer and dryer, a sauna with a rain shower, radiant floor heat, high speed internet with wifi and three bedrooms with queen beds and private bathrooms. Very peaceful, quiet and private. Fully equipped kitchen includes convection oven, gas cooktop with downdraft, subzero fridgerator/freezer, dishwasher, two stainless steel sinks and all items to create a meal for family and friends. Three bedrooms include queen beds and full baths, main floor bath includes a sauna shower, master bath includes a claw foot tub, third bath has a euro style shower. High thread count white cotton sheets are included in each room. White hotel towels are provided in each bathroom. Two heavy white hotel style bath robes are available in each second floor room. Lower level entertainment room includes comfy seating, a flat screen television, DVD player and an Apple TV. Outdoor living includes vegetable gardens, free range chickens, outdoor kitchen, farm table dining with seating for 12, outdoor fireplace, a hammock under the large chestnut tree behind the house and a view of the islands from the crest of the hill.     The SpaceSunset Lodge offers a traditional B&B in the historic 1891 Wheeler House. There are four nicely appointed rooms, each with private bath. Guests are served a full breakfast in the dining room, with coffee served at 7:30 am. Breakfasts feature home-baked specialties with local fruit in season and Leelanau Roasters coffee. The Wheeler House is open year-round. In addition, there are two seasonal cottages open May through early November. These cottages have 8 suites which vary in size, configuration and price. All have private bathrooms and kitchenettes. Two suites are 'efficiency apartments' accommodating up to four guests and available by the day or by the week. In total, up to 30 guests can be accommodated, making Sunset Lodge an ideal 'family headquarters' for a nearby wedding or special event. Our lovely porches and patios overlook Lake Michigan's Grand Traverse Bay. There is a social hall building, pickle ball court and fire pit on 13 acres of manicured grounds and wooded areas. We are a moment's walk to the historic village of Omena, with a restaurant/bar (The Knot), a tasting room (Leelanau Cellars), renowned gallery (Tamarack), historical museum and Omena public beach. Omena is the perfect base for enjoying Leelanau's year-round activities. Near biking and hiking trails, wineries and cideries, orchards and farmers markets, beaches, golf courses, and rivers for canoeing or fishing. In winter enjoy XC skiing, snowshoeing, and fat-tire biking. Guest AccessThis is a ground floor unit with a private entrance and off street parking. Come and go at your leisure. Interaction with GuestsWe are resident upstairs in the house and are available to answer questions as needed. We love to meet new people. The NeighborhoodOur unit is only a 1/2 block walk to downtown Omena - the beautiful winery of Leelanau Cellars, Tamarack Gallery featuring Michigan artists, Knot Just A Bar, Omena Public Beach, Omena Country Store, US Post Office and the Omena Historical Museum. Or head up the road 2 miles to the Indian Village of Pshawbestown and the casino or take in the once a summer traditional Pow Wow. A 10 minute drive takes you to either Suttons Bay or Northport. Getting AroundM22 circles Leelanau County and many of the county roads wind past beautiful vineyards, apple and cherry orchards, and local farm stands. Spring time heralds amazing cherry and apple blossoms. Fall is a blaze of color. Suttons Bay and Northport are only 10 minutes by car with a wonderful selection of restaurants and stores. Leland is only 15 minutes away. We are 22 miles north of Traverse City, close enough to head in for a day of shopping or to take in the festivals there.       The SpaceTwo efficiency apartments are located in our Shedd guest cottage. The Shedd cottage was built in 1898 with historic charm. On the grounds of Michigan State Historic Site, the Sunset Lodge. Grounds overlook Lake Michigan's Grand Traverse Bay. Each apartment has one bedroom, a bathroom (modern fixtures with shower stall), and kitchenette/sitting area with futon that converts to full-size bed. Kitchen has refrigerator (small), microwave, toaster, coffee maker stocked with coffees and teas etc., pots & pans, and service for four. WiFi and HD cable TV provided. Housekeeping: light housekeeping daily, with bed linens changed after three days. The Garden Suite is first floor with king bed. The Cottage Suite is second floor with queen bed. Use of our laundry facilities is available in the afternoons, upon request. We have a pickle ball court, social hall building, and patios and porches with lovely views of Omena Bay. On 13 acres of grounds and wooded areas. The NeighborhoodAn ideal base to explore the beautiful Leelanau Peninsula. Sunset Lodge is a short walk to the historic village of Omena. Omena has waterfront restaurant/bar (The Knot), a tasting room (Leelanau Cellars), art gallery, historical museum, country store, and public beach. Near Suttons Bay, Northport and Leland; 20 miles from Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore; 22 miles from Traverse City.
